Christianity EtcRe: Rude Things People Do In Church by delors(m):
Well, some of them are unavoidable and shouldnt be on the list
Acelifted: 1. Talking during a service.
C'mon mehn, they are not zombies. They could talk but not chatter! for instance, brother John can ask from brother James what verse of Acts pastor Luke just mentioned. cool

Acelifted: 2. Texting or surfing the web during a service. (One person mentioned seeing people playing video games on their phones.)
Okay, so this one is not nice...but sometimes when the sermon is becoming unusually long...(Ok, not good altogether) wink

Acelifted: 3. Sleeping—or snoring!—during a sermon.
Well, as led by the holy spirit grin It is called 'sleeping in the Lord' grin

Acelifted: 4. Clipping fingernails during church. (I was amazed at how many people listed this offense. One person said his church’s sound technician clipped his nails routinely during the sermon, and it was amplified over the loud speaker.)
lolz, aint that funny? thank God na fingernails, what if na toe nails the bros dey clip nko?

Acelifted: 5. Answering a ringing phone in church.
Not good...at all...even if na $1m contract from Dangote, don't pick the call.

Acelifted: 6. Constantly getting up and leaving the auditorium, presumably to use the restroom.
This shouldnt be on the list. Some people are meant to use the washroom every 10mins...otherwise service go quick end...gaseous effect grin

Acelifted: 7. Walking out of a service early, especially during a prayer.
They missed the blessing already.

Acelifted: 8. Letting babies cry incessantly in the service.
Shouldnt be on the list. I mean, can u tell a crying baby to shut up? Let the babies cry, it is a sweet sound to the Lord (IMO) undecided

Acelifted: 9. Chewing or smacking gum. (One friend from Puerto Rico said he is particularly annoyed when people “chew gum like a goat.”)
Whoever does that needs special deliverance...

Acelifted: 10. Public display of affection. (One person complained about a man and wife who enjoy giving each other back rubs during worship.)
You mean in the church? shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Acelifted: (1) “Pushing people to the floor while praying for them”
lipsrsealed ;
Acelifted: (2) “Saying ‘Amen’ 100 times during the sermon”
What's wrong with this anyway? na holy spirit dey work bro ;
Acelifted: (3) “Taking change from the offering plate”
i only know 3 people wey fit perform this miracle - lagos boy (first timer in church), Area (my waffi bros) and nna bros (especially if he isnt expecting any container from abroad, every change is worth keeping grin;
Acelifted: (4) “Swearing in church” (I didn’t ask for the details on that!)
This one serious oh! shocked
; and
Acelifted: (5) “Drinking beverages during the entire service.”
This shouldnt be a problem na...why cant people drink beverage or what during service?

frosbel: I never said TV was bad oooo.

I said one should watch with caution especially here in the west with all the nudity and profanity. That we are against deeperlife traditions does not mean we are for lawlessness.

If you are led by the Spirit there are certain things you will not watch on TV.

There is a TV in my house, I hardly watch it, my wife watches decent movies and my kids watch cartoons.

I have locked down our Internet firewall so that no wicked web site can be mistakenly visited etc.

It's all about discretion and modesty, however what is good for us should not become a rule we make for another person, let God lead the hearts, a heart truly for GOD will set no wicked thing before it's eyes.

" I will not set anything worthless before my eyes. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me."- Psalm 101:3

frosbel: I was like you Bro, left deeperlife last year and have been free to follow and love JESUS ever since without the bondage of tradition.

Though, I must say that while I have nothing against TV, TV does have a negative effect on children and possibly adults, since it is a tool for media misinformation, information and propagation of an agenda that is not godly. If used for documentaries and the news or hooking up to a DVD then it is perfectly fine.

Internet is far far better, you can restrict what you watch etc.

smiley
If you say TV is bad, then internet is worse. Soon, Deeperlife will ban all electronic gadget - smart phones, ipad and family, computers, etc - since they are all media stuffs. now, if all these are banned, how will the word of God be spread to the other parts of the world? Curious. Many have watched Tv since the second day they were born and have died saints and godly. Deeper life is a religion...

Okay, so this is over doing it. Is this church a kind of cult or what? Whatever happened to peace and love in the presence of God? Wearing a fitted dress on her wedding doesn't not in any way undermine or compromise her faith. She did not go nude for Christ sake! This is wrong! Totally wrong. The couple started their marriage on a miserable note. I suspect they are doing all these to keep their members who are so one-sided in their thoughts. If the husband could wear an Italian made Gucci suit, why can't the wife use a modest french tailored gown! Hypocrisy redefined!

BusinessRe: A Paid Job Or Entrepreneurship For A Fresh Graduate? - Please Advice by delors(m): 3:03pm On Jul 03, 2013
More so, getting a 'well paying' job could be hard for you as a fresh graduate becuase they can't pay well for a greenhorn so u might want to start making preparation for your business. Develop a business plan...More importantly seek counsel from professionals (consultants). It pays off eventually. The irony of it all is that if you start of on your own biz now, people would probably think you are no good, or hopeless about getting a good oil company job...that whatever you are trying to start now is a result of frustration etc...So, do a Cost-benefit Analysis.
BusinessRe: A Paid Job Or Entrepreneurship For A Fresh Graduate? - Please Advice by delors(m): 1:42pm On Jul 03, 2013
My take on this is that you should try to get a paid job for now. There are many reasons for this. 1, being a fresh graduate, chances are there will be high demand for you because they'll believe your brain is still fresh and you are eager and enthusiastic to work. 2, you need a corporate life experience so that you'll know exactly how businesses are run. that will give you an idea of how to manage your business properly 9unless you are looking at being a recharge card seller in which case you'd need no corporate experience). 3, if you start straight into business of your own, flowing from No 2, inexperience could ruin your business and create a whole load of negative energy. No 4, You need capital and one solid way to get it is by getting a well paid job (Although a well paid job could be a mirage in Nigeria). Finally, if you start off as an entrepreneur, you might find it hard to start applying for jobs after a while.
On the other hand, if you have been doing your business before and you have years of experience (even as a fresh graduate, you could go straight into it (provided you have the capital and courage). I know many who plunged into it straight after NYSC and are doing great now. It was rough initially but I think they are making sense now. So, if you get a well paid job, I would advice you take it...it is the easiest way to start own business. As the Yoruba would say (I bi pelebe la tin mu ole je...lolz) We start eating moi moi from the flat angle - the easy angle...lolz. Pardon that but I hope you get the drift. All the best bro.

FamilyRe: Wrong Reasons Why People Marry by delors(m): 4:07pm On Jul 02, 2013
remecy: Marriage is school for two person where you never graduate from. Admission into the great institue should not include any of the list below PLEASE.

1. Good food. – Sorry, you don’t need a wife to eat good food. House-help or fast food can help.

2. sex – This is part of reason for marriage but should not be the only reason.

3. Solution partner – It is true that you need someone you can pour your heart to at all time. But you need to know that the other person also needs your care. If all you want is only yourself to be heard without considering the other person, then what you need is a counsellor, not a husband or wife.

4. Beauty – Never marry because someone is beautiful or handsome! Beauty fades. Simplicity is the key, however you must be attracted to the person.

5. Money – You may have financial need but marrying someone just because he/she is rich won’t sustain the marriage

6. Pressure -
“I am getting old”, “My friends are all married”, “My family are complaining” – These and many more are the excuses some people marry!. But remember that you are the one that will live with that spouse and not your parents or friends.

7. Spirituality – “He speaks in tongues”, “He attend church regularly!”, we know them by their fruits and not by their being religious.

8. Conversion – I will change him/her after marriage. 99% chances are that he/she will not change after marriage if they didn’t change before marriage.

9. Fantasy – Some just get married because others are married and they don’t want to be left out.

10. Low Self Esteem – Some people feel they would not get someone to marry them, else they quickly rush in with anyone that comes their way, not knowing them to an extent.
Apart from all the aforementioned, what are the wrong reasons people get married?
