EFCC should be left alone. There'll be total lawlessness if they're shut down. Reforms are okay if necessary. |
Wealthoptulent:Late Dr Adegoke? Her mum, Prof. Feyi Adegoke is an alumnae of Queen's School, Ibadan. |
Also Ooni of Ife and his wife Naomi. Many bloggers just cook up stories on the rich and famous for attention. |
Irrespective of the politics behind this situation, those children should be better treated. There are chances that not all of them are guilty of any criminal offence. Some may not even have fully understood why they were protesting beyond the fact that they're disadvantaged and hungry. A lot needs to be done in the North in terms of education, family planning, child rights and insecurity which generates a vicious cycle of poverty. The consequences of inaction is what we're seeing. |
Joesno:Their payment was made to NNPC according to them, not Dangote Refinery. That's why DR needs an approval/commitment from NNPC. |
Mindlog:Sadly true. Anyone who listens to Barrister Olumide on 99.3 Info fm from 7am to 9am on Saturday mornings, would have heard so much about this. So many broken women in our society. The annoying thing is the culture of secrecy which protects the men and renders the women shattered and helpless. Most disheartening. |
Shocking but thankful that they're alive. Perfect healing by God's grace. |
This is disheartening! There are better ways of handling children even if they're guilty. Most of them probably just followed the crowd being idle and hungry. Of course, there could be criminal elements among them. Those ones can be reformed..... I'm ranting maybe....I just don't like seeing children suffer. These days, I see that bad behaviour inherent in our youth is mostly due to parental failure and external influence. Hope they have good legal representation. |
00FFT00:Ritualists are everywhere. Update yourself better by reading up on Otokoto and many similar cases across the nation. |
nairalanda1:Former President Buhari and Emefiele did a lot of that. No meaningful achievement to date. There's NIRSAL, Bank of Agriculture or something like that and other direct interventions by CBN. We're still on the same level or worse. Sadly, the people are not better than the government that they criticise. |
Owo ti a ko ba sise fun kii tojo... From the Yoruba poem " Isé loògùn ìsé. You can't consistently reap bountifully from other people's sorrows. Somehow, some way, there'll be a payback time. Financial management skills help, but things usually become difficult when an unsustainable lifestyle is embarked upon. Flexing big time is unfortunately mostly unavoidable....igboro must hear am mentality comes to play. Do whatever will bring money legitimately, have a financial plan and focus less on the jaiyejaiye lifestyle. May God guide our younger generation more. |
Our Option A4 champion. May God comfort his family and rest his soul in perfect peace. |
lagosrd:Agrarian state- yes, but Osun has gold in commercial quantity. The state can get a mining licence to maximise their gains. They can also look into the redevelopment of the steel companies in Oshogbo to boost their economy. Tourism is another sector which can be better managed. |
Prayerfully the bandits will not go back there to cause havoc. Dealing with insecurity will make a huge difference in the protection and maintenance of critical infrastructure. |
That's shameful! Revenue should not be decreasing in these hard times. The governor needs to revolutionise the revenue collection process. Lagos is a good place to learn from. It's surprising that Zamfara with enormous mineral resources is one of poorest on the list. Ditto for Nassarawa and Plateau. Restructuring is the key to progress. |
Maybe Leventis Stores is about to stage a comeback. Leventis, UTC and Kingsway Stores were the prime shopping centres from the 60s to the early 80s. There are many indigenous superstores that are filling the gap already....Foodco, Ebeano, Justrite etc |
HgAkpobomeEr:He should show up in court to prove that he's honourable. He can also visit EFCC with his lawyer instead of hiding under the governor's immunity. |
Years ago, they said anyone going against Boko Haram is fighting the North. Terrorists and bandits were recommended for amnesty after killing many and ruining thousands of lives. Now that they've inadvertently empowered the bad guys who are now so ruthless, they're looking for quick solutions to a deep rooted problem. Sadly, we mostly reap as we sow. I wish the North well. Years past, it was a beautiful and safe place to be. I pray that things change soon. |
Great pity! Posting the video isn't a wise move. Especially because of the children. They should have gone for counselling if they can't reconcile on their own. "I will tell my daddy " hardly helps in a situation like this. Both men and women need to understand the natural instincts of each other better. One major thing is that men are usually focused on one issue at a time while women are natural multi taskers. That often leads to higher expectations by the women while the man already feels overwhelmed. |
Hmmm! Fair judgement but I pity Nigerians in Libya. |
Billions down the drain. ![]() |
Omenlon:The level of ignorance is truly amazing! No one has a right to defame others without any valid evidence. Popularity on social media will not help anyone in court where real evidence is the basis of the proceedings. |
CrownedPhoenix:My thoughts too. Until the native doctors are dealt with, we'll continue to hear about sordid tales like this. Too many lives are being lost sadly. |
Very good move! |
Isn't his wife working here as a judge? |
Honestly, it's unwise to spend so much forex on wigs and items that are easily produced here. People are already making good shoes, bags and clothes. We don't need to import that much if the government supports the local industries and we, the people, are determined to turn a new leaf. We really don't need designer stuff to look good. |
linearity:True. Very sad indeed. I'm wondering if there's a functional CCTV covering the airport premises and immediate environment. |
Dogalmighty17:No, it was revealed that Otedola wasn't one of those involved in fraudulent subsidy payments. That's why Lawan got into trouble for surreptitiously asking for a bribe and collecting it from him. |
We all know that 100k is barely enough to feed a growing child three times a day for 3 months. The government is subsidising by granting free accommodation, provision and maintenance of facilities, and the payment of teachers and other staff. The parents have a choice of putting their children in day public schools so they can make some savings if possible. |
ehikwe22:You have evidence for this? Sometimes, fables sound like reality when they're told too often. I think it's more like a method used by some ogas to mobilise funds from junior officers for themselves. Dropping the IGs name validates their fraudulent venture. IG can as well do private investigation to expose and deal with the many extortionists across the country. |
Happy birthday to General Yakubu Gowon aka Go On With One Nigeria. God bless you with good health as you continue to age gracefully. |
Most likely, the result will be the same in most parts of the country. The best way to provide water is through well coordinated water projects by the State Govts. The problem is that private wells and boreholes are dug in the same environment with soakaways/sewages. Borehole at the backyard while the neighbour has his soakaway in the same direction. ![]() |
