cnonyechi:What's your profession? The new procedure now is that your application goes to Sydney for pre-screening. Sydney is looking for some particular professions for faster processing time. |
aydracula:Not necessarily. Emirates fly direct to Toronto from Dubai; However, it's a longer trip from Lagos since they have to go thru Dubai. KLM, AirFrance, British Airways, Lufthansa all of them are good. Take your pick. I prefer flying BA but would also fly Emirates business class to Toronto cos of the experience. debosky:BA (Lagos to Vancouver) no be am on the return leg. Because of the change in departure from Vancouver, you have to overnight in London. Unless you have something doing in London, it's pretty much a waste of time. And I'm not suprised at the N320k. I know someone who paid N400k in December for an economy seat from Lagos to Vancouver; the dollar/naira wahala is definitely affecting everything. |
debosky:Debosky, how body? I have seen them they give MULTIPLE entry, especially when the Visa is long term. |
marydre:It's possible but it's a pretty hard sell especially when you consider the " Nigerian" factor. Also, you have to remember that the onus is on you to prove that you can fund your way thru school AND you have very strong ties to your home country; meaning you'd be more or less compelled to leave for home when you complete your program. So, if your sponsor is not related to you and s/he is based in Canada, how do you sell that to the consul who is already sceptical? BTW, this is solely my opinion; you may be quite lucky; you never know but I'd look for a better alternative. aydracula:The hospital usually waits for a few medical applicants to come in before they send to Paris. They usually courier all of them together to save money. ![]() |
aydracula:Well, I'd advise you to be patient. Medicals take at least 3wks plus; this is just your third week. . .I'd give it a month and if I dont hear from the consulate, I'd give them a call/visit. Goodluck |
aydracula:Yup. I'm in and out; been pretty busy lately. What's your question? BTW, are you the one who sent an email? |
Delta007:Last one left; going for ![]() |

Just some clarifications, When an accident is reported, the insurance company will determine if they should go ahead and repair the vehicle or pay off the insured. Sometimes, they make a judgement (purely subjective) and pay off the insured and declare the vehicle salvage. This doesnt necessarily mean the vehicle is damaged beyond repairs. It just means the insurance company decided to take the other route. If the vehicle was stolen, they usually have a "recovery period"; if (within that period) the vehicle is not recovered, they pay off the insured. However, if after paying the insured they recover it, the vehicle is sometimes branded as salvage or auto theft recovery. Note that not all vehicles that have been in accidents are branded as salvage and not all salvage vehicles are damaged beyond repair. Some States actually classify these salvage vehicles. Those classified as "junks", as simply junks. They ought to just be sold for parts. However, when a slavage vehicle is repaired, it cannot be used in N.America unless it has been certified road worthy. When cerified, it is rebranded as "Rebuilt". P.S. If I was based in Nigeria and was to buy a "Salvaged" vehicle (cos they are very cost attractive), I'd go for a vehicle with a "Rebuilt" title to be on the safe side. Most Nigerian dealers who are not straight upfront, just buy these accidented vehicles and make cheap repairs. Sometimes, they are not up to standard and the buyer ends up buying a death trap. |
teachme:You do not need TOEFL if the school has already waived it and you already got your admission. As for your sponsors, make sure you have the required documents and there's enough proof that he/she is capable of sponsoring you. Apply early. Goodluck. |
It is actually a good investment. Time share vacation is one of the newest travel accomodation being sold out to interested holiday goers. It will profit you if u are a frequent flyer. Like it will help our governors and Mr. President to save money. Because depending on the company selling the time-share vacation, if they are global, u will be able to holiday any where in the world wit out worrying about ur hotel bills. I was to buy in Gatlinburg (tennessee) with over 200 destinations including caribbean, europe , Africa and middle east but had so much on-going pet projects. I hope they paid u for ur time!. I was paid $200 buck just to spend 1hr with them tryin to sell their time-share thing to me with a free for all lunch. At the end of the day, i asked them if i could come the next day to spend another 1hr wit them, they laughed!!!, Naija blood doesnt change oh, I told them i was locked up in Naijaism! That was april last yr.
, I wudnt say it's a good investment. Depending on how often you travel, what alternate investments you can have, etc. Remember, despite being a time share owner, you may have to book in advance to be able to get a space in popular destinations like Vegas, etc |

You probably werent able to prove that you have very strong ties to Nigeria, and you'd be coming back when you complete the program; Maybe you did but they werent satisfied. One thing alot of people do not realise is that getting a scholarship does not automatically give you an edge with the consulate. More often than not, it works against you unless you know how to "sell it". Too bad tho; perhaps you can contact the university and ask them if they can defer the admission/scholarship. P.S. If the admission is for the session beginning in the Fall (Sept), it might not be a bad idea to re-apply since there is still time; If you do, make sure you beef up your application; however, whatever you do, do not give out any information that will contradict your previous application(s). Very important! See https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-118823.0.html |

Every business has associated risks; it's a given. However, Cyber Cafes in today's Nigeria is a VERY tricky business. Alot of pple that go into it, do not understand what it takes to run a cyber cafe. Add the cost of having electricity there all the time, you might end up running a huge deficit. The emergence of wireless ISPs all over Nigeria has furthermore dampened the market. This does not mean that you cannot run a Cyber Cafe successfully in Nigeria, but just like any business, there are lots of factors to consider and be ready to invest alot to get some good returns. |
JosBoy4Lif:Business is fine. Thanks for asking. How is your end? No, we have not used BA. Weezyf:Intel processor or AMD? Intels are relatively more expensive. . .FYI. Just FYI, so I dont get your hopes up, we dont have any available in Nigeria at the moment. There's a shipment which will arrive later in the week. I can include your request, if ypu give me the go-ahead; that's why I'm asking! |
If you can get a reasonable fair , direct flight from Atlanta using Delta, I'd strongly recommend it. . .although travelling with kids, it can be a tough one on a pretty long flight. However, try sites like www.kayak.com or www.vayama.com to compare prices. If you have a pretty good travel agent, you might be able to get good deals. Lastly, since you are going along with kids, you might want to play with your "connection times", if any, to avoid pretty long wait times in airports. Personally, I hate (with a passion), sitting in an airport for more than an hr. |
Weezyf:Two options: Option 1: To get delivery in Awka, you pay in full, upfront and we ship to you via courier within 24hrs of payment Option 2: You can (or send someone to) pick up in Port Harcourt or Warri, Lagos or Abuja (your best choice). I recommend option 2 for obvious reasons to both parties. However, some of our clients have preferred option 1 and we've had no issues with delivery. Email me at sales@jonitivecomputers.com |
