Really? Did you open the link before rushing to comment?

So I won't check the link before coming to post? If that's how u think, don't come and drag me down with your thinking. Must you even open your mouth or use your finger to type. As am typing now, there are three vacancies on the site and you will know they are still working on it. You really should learn to think, process your thoughts before you jump and make a fool of yourself

P.S. I registered on the site but so far, you can't login. It tells you you have to verify, but no email so far

Fool the battle of La Drang Valley is a real life event!

being daft runs in your family my brother.... Calling me a fool because i pointed out the fact that you are qouting a movie shows you can't differentiate reality from make believe. I havent said the battle of La Drang Valley didnt happen. What i am saying is watching a movie and deciding then to criticize based on the movie you watched is stupid. Lots of things are left unsaid in movies and a very good example is "Black Hawk Down" and recently "American Sniper". These two movies are historical fiction but have been criticized for their lack of credibility...... How much more you coming here to base your criticism on "We were Soldiers".... Get a life.

For you all talking and criticizing. I have to just tell you this. Notice the carefree attitude of the Soldiers. You don't need an oracle to tell you they are being un-serious, probably because they know they are being filmed. Acting like that in battle will get you killed quickly.... So please, calm down.... And if your finger day itch you, go buy form

US military doctrine does not allow for close combat unless absolutely neccessary.

Recon teams scour an area and identify enemy positions and then call in ariel support.

This doctrine was adopted from the famous battle in La Drang Valley, Vietnam Where a group of marines were deployed a landing zone, LZ X-ray.

The marines were flanked in all corners by over 2000 NVA fighters. The objective was to maintain a landing area for reinforcement and maintain a cordone. The US marine commander, Col Moore, then called in for air support to take out enemy positions.

At one time the marines where in danger of having their positions overwhelmed by the Vietnamese forces. Col Moore then called in a distress call at the last minute code named broken arrow.

My point, do not engage the enemy in open quarters when air support can be called in to wipe them out. It saves resources and lives.

Chairman, ease up on the ITK syndrome. Coming here to quote a movie shows you fail to differentiate reality from make believe. Also your criticism of the NA training shows you have a hate thing going on. Watch the video closely and you will see a white trainer following them. While you might have your point, I believe you are not privy to whatever their trainer is telling them, so ease up on complaining

I don't care if I get banned but I gotta say this; mumus plenty for nairaland. Reading some comments, I just smh cos we all brought this on our head and yet we find it easier to shout FG FG FG from the safety of our homes. Some people are even insulting the army, and yet they have never faced death before in their lives. Others are politicizing the issue like always, screaming GMB n GEJ like chickens that are about to be beheaded. For long we alienated ourselves from reality, after all, its happening in the north now y'all are screaming Chad did this, or Chad did that. Y'all are hypocrites. In fact all Nigerians, myself included are hypocrites and terrible people. Lacking patriotism, good will, honesty and integrity. We deserve what we have after all its our apathy that has brought us here. Worse is most of y'all don't even know the agreement on ground between Nigeria and Chad. I really am sick of y'all, despicable lots.

First, the article is an epic fail. Talking about Buhari and making reference to China Achebe's "Things fall apart", and the writer of the article fails to realise that he is quoting the wrong book. That it was even posted online shows that both the writer, and his editor are daft. How did " No longer at Ease" turn out to become "Things fall apart ". That people could even sit down to argue over it without realising the epic fail is dumbfounding.

Sincerely Nigerians won't cease to amaze with their thinking. I agree Oshio ain't a saint, but even a drunk speaks the truth a times. First, there is no proof Buhari ordered the killing of the corpers. Am not saying its ok they were killed, but you can't just up and accuse him like that. Be grateful you can say that behind your laptop screen cos if you attempt that in the real world! I bet you will file for bankruptcy by the time his lawyers are through with you. That aside, graduates lost their lives, money and dignity to a scam that has seen nobody punished or held accountable and you are here opening your mouths to castigate oshio. This incidence happened less than a year ago and Moro still retains his job after callously blaming the dead. How insensitive, and yet he and his cronies have refused to refund the monies obtained back. This ain't a scam anymore but daylight robbery and murder.
Let us just accept the truth for what it is, GEJ is a failure. He had 6 years to turn around the fortunes of Nigerians but we are worse off. Am not advocating for Buhari, but he is looking a better deal than someone who had all the chance in the world to have Nigerians worship him like a god but instead choose to be a source of sorrow. GEJ has been a monumental failure and all those screaming GEJ till 2019 are sycophants who wouldn't recognise the truth even if it perched on their nose.

What stops the price from being an actual reflection of world circumstances? GEJ is confirmed clueless for me by this singular act, and he is surrounded by dunces and imbeciles. Useless bunch. Abimbola is us asking the driver the direction.

thank you for this astute remark. Nobody is here hating on GMB, rather we are asking, Sir, with your visions for us, how do you intend to achieve them? And what sacrifice will you have to make and what sacrifice will we have to make? At what cost? These are salient points that must be answered.
P.S aside the few insults I am loving the matured conversation :d

You are totally right. smiley smiley smiley Most people do not understand that a successful business is already born from a successful and well articulated business plan. The reverse can also be said for an unsuccessful business.
Manifestos are exactly like what business plans are to entrepreneurs.
A failed government is as result of a failed manifesto.

my point exactly. Even vision 2020 being a detailed plan was a disaster in the making not to talk of a manifesto

@proponents of GMB, for argument sake, can you propose a way with which GMB will attack and eradicate corruption? Seeing as its institutionalized in all facets of the Nigerian life. Even if it were just your own opinion, it will definitely stand in good stead for GMB!

I do believe the columnist is right to question how Buhari intends to implement his manifesto. While some might argue that it is just a manifesto and we all should wait till he becomes president, I prefer to know how he will go about it. For so long we have been hoodwinked, and in this age, we should begin to question, listen and question again. Not take for granted based on a person's personality. After all the present president was voted in cos of his person (shoeless) and we are all complaining. I really wish we had younger and more intelligent persons contesting, the likes of Fashola(not that he is a saint), Donald Duke(neither is he a saint as well) etc. Both the president and buhari are not the answer. However should Buhari articulate how he intends to implement his manifesto, I might be swayed to vote for him

The likes of berem, sincere9jerian etc who fight and expose their dirty linen on nairaland, and whip up sentiments bothering on religion and tribe forget that should there be crisis, they and their families and us all would suffer it while the basterd elites and use.less rulers would protect and preserve only their own. The issue of LG Autonomy borders on what is called " Federating Units" we cannot possibly have 477 federating units. It is understandable to have 36 federating units but not 477. LG Autonomy is dead on arrival. After LG Autonomy d next autonomy would be "Ward Autonomy" and after that "street Autonomy, where would this madness end. Presumably family or Home Autonomy.

I have even forgotten that we once had Kalakuta Republic in Surulere Lagos.

for your mind now, you done make sense abi? Indeed you know nothing.

What type of military hard-ware is the money meant for....
How many of this hard-wares are they out to purchase...
Since the payment wont be in cash and will involve senate approval whenever there is cash payment, is it proper to start shouting corruption as early as this....
We should have full grasp to answer to all these before we can criticise objectively without being sensational about it...

my brother, the thing tire me o, thought I was the only person who read that the payment won't be in cash! See as grown men are screaming murder and corruption, like they can't read. The quoted post clearly states what our concerns should be.
