Sports / Why Sack Mourinho? by delvinmaya(m): 2:16pm On Dec 19, 2015
When do Players get to take responsibility for their inactions or actions that place their club in perilous situations? Yesterday, Jose Mourinho became the latest manager to be shown the way out of a club; a club that he won the Premier league title for less than 6 months ago. It begs disbelief that the management of Chelsea would choose to see the back of a man who has brought the club success the most. What is telling is that he choose to comeback after being sacked by the same management the last time out only to suffer the same fate all over again.

Looool

Smh at Nigerians. So some people actually believe the Mtel or Ntel rubbish?

Hating MTN would not give you Ntel. Never expect anything good from a public institution under the auspices of the FG of Nigeria. It will fail woefully before arrival.

FG operate business with a non-challant attitude. They do business like charity. They've not obtained one fibre or cable yet they are already talking about FREE 4G. That's how NNPC, another failed public project, promised Free fuel, yet we are buying at N120, N200 per litre.

How many of you commentators enjoy waterworks water? lol Failed public projects everywhere.

MTN is like Borehole, they will remain in the market until every Nigerian have constant and effective water distribution system.

NITEL is a failed project. It will only survive when its given to a private body who believe in work ethics and profitability.

You want to give NITEL to Nigerian Civil Servants who resume 11am for work? You want Nitel to survive in the midst of people who sell groundnut and melon at work? You want Nitel to survive in the hands of people who believe in distributing 4G like pure water, instead of targeting profitability and sustainability?

Even the Discos & Power Plants private operators are yet to recover from the massive destruction NEPA (Public Institution) caused and inflicted on our power sector, so who am I to expect any good thing from NITEL, a firm that died over 10 years ago?
cheesy

Oga, seems like you are not current at all. Nitel was sold off to Natcom, a private company early this year, so it's no longer a public company

Jeez, as usual finding pro biafrans and the anti biafrans in a thread is like sieving water with a net. All that comes out are claims and counter claims. How one region is oppressing the other, how one region is more developed than the other and how one region once they break away conquer the world.
Instead of us finding ways to better our lots and fight the ruling class to work for us, na to day shout biafra and odua. Bleep biafra, bleep odua and bleep Arewa.

For God's sake, the south east have been ruled by people they voted in, their own "blood", yet they will keep quiet and blame Lagos for their wow instead of demanding service from their governors. Rocha's, Obiano or piano and the likes are there embezzling money and refusing to develop the states and one idiot will sit down and blame Lagos or Abuja.
Even the peeps in Lagos and Abuja are being misrule and yet they keep quiet and turn to Alexander the great online. Bunch of loonies y'all (all pro biafrans, and the rest of the country).

Oga Quotasystem, get a life. Blaming the Yoruba's for whatever misfortune u perceive is a tad immature. Hold leaders from ur region responsible. By now, according to ur insinuation, the south east should be paradise yet it's no worse than Somali. Get working and let us know u mean bizness.

And crime is not restricted to just a region. Crime is crime and is present in all parts of the country, the continent, the world and even in hell so enough with the bullshit.

Nobody forced y'all to wait for the results.
Worse still nobody is forcing you to spend the "Zoo's" currency. Quit using it. Burn your passports, burn your ID cards. Close down your accounts with all Banks in the zoo. What way Biafra?

I see people calling Nigeria a zoo and yet turn their own region into a war zone! I see people dehumanized to the loony they refuse to see that the death of the young lady transcends the vision of a rising sun as they want. I see other people happy about the death and showing their joy and I see people trading blames and forgetting that the family of the young lady will alone be left to bear the heavy load of sorrow.

I will only say, only the dead do not know the outcome of a war, and the dead will end up being just a number, a statistic when the war is done and dusted with.

Spot on Mr Bruce. The worst part is the fact that people here will term you a wailing wailer and then allude Buhari's action to wanting to lay a solid foundation.
First Bruce is in the opposition, yes, that doesn't take away the fact he owns a business and pays his tax. He is entitled to his opinion and can demand more from the government.
Second, 6 months is too long a period for a sitting government to keep blaming the previous administration. Buhari asked to become president not chief mourner, it's time he does exactly what he was voted to do.
Third, people are losing jobs these days like water going through a basket. This is sad as you realize that the next few months, thousands more will lose their jobs, and thousands more will graduate to join the labour market. That's just a ticking time bomb that the government should be wary of.

By the time I get a reply to this post, I will be called all sorts of names, and worse people will give excuses for Buhari. I would say to all, no need to fool ourselves. We need to tell the truth as it is. Yes the country is bad, hard times abound. Yes Pdp destroyed the country in the 16 years in which they held sway. However we should not be complacent to give excuses for a man who promised to fix things. He should fix it and spare us tales of the past.

Don't worry about me busting a nerve.......I actually enjoying of late, point out ridiculous statements that emanate from NL. Back to the AGF, the classic ancient wisdom "be prepared" comes into play here. That's why it is the responsibility of managers (the AGF in this context) to have consulted his colleagues especially on areas of overlaps, and as much do a dry run of such presentation with colleagues, and not come in front of PMB only to sound ridiculous. Once a manager in position of leadership absolves himself of responsibilities, it's an indicator that he needs to be "absolved" of the job.

Thanks for pointing out that its democrary.....and I agree you're entitled to the way of your reasoning

Great to see you enjoying whatever it is you are enjoying happy for you. Ain't gonna begrudge you that. However you have avoided the salient issue. I believe others have already dealt with the issue, and I won't drag you back to it.

About the AGF, I agree you might be right to some "extent", but since the head of the Basin Authority Wad seated there, he should have been held accountable for whatever took place under his watch. Isn't that why he was made head of the Basin Authority?

We digress though

unfortunately people like you know next to nothing and simply just type silly. what mistake did the president make? pointing out the incompleteness in the presentation made to him? In the corporate world, the Auditor - General's answer would have been deemed the stupidest. You're presenting to your CEO, points out a gap in your presentation, and your only answer is "it is not my job"?

While I applaud your need to defend the president, I think you could be civil. Attempting to insult me got you so wrung up you missed adding "you". Fixed that up for you. Now to my statement, I said if such an event took place, so calm down before you burst a nerve. And in response to your query, if the gap in my presentation isn't my purview, why would I then exert myself while the person with the job description sits down looking like a fool. It's plainly not my job.

It's a democracy bro, am entitled to my opinion and as you ain't paying my bills, I suggest you do the needful.

Apologies to no-one but if anybody can still support the president after his mistake was highlighted(qho even knows if such an event took place), then for sure we have a long way to go in Nigeria. Am not a lawyer but if such event took place, then not only did the president fall foul of the constitution he vowed to uphold but also he risks being impeached.
And that's why I feel his action should be examined intelligently . Comparing him to GEJ or hailing him is tantamount to saying that we are a lawless society.

A common misnomer is people comparing Soyinka and Achebe. People don't realize Soyinka is an all rounder in the literary world. From prose (both fiction and non-fiction), to plays and poems, Soyinka is a giant. Achebe however wrote only prose and "poems", he didn't write a single play . I say this to set the record straight.
However there is no basis for comparison. Like I stated above, both are geniuses in their rights

Before you quote me, please google when he won that "lucky" nobel price.

Comparing Soyinka with Achebe is totally uncalled for and irrelevant. They both are geniuses in their "scope of work". Notice I put scope there.

Military operations and capturing of territories are done step wise. You move inch by inch kilometre by kilometre until the enemy is totally routed. The nigerian army is working deep in Nigerian territory outwards towards the borders of 3 different countries. Chad, Niger are fighting are the borders towards Nigeria with less ground to cover. Many of the towns liberated shared boundary with chad and Niger towns, some are even same town with some part in Nigeria and other part in chad or niger. So it is not surprising if their armies are able to make incursion into Nigeria and liberate these towns. The Nigerian army has liberated 38 towns that are bigger and more strategic. Chad has also been able to turn many of their BH sympathizers against BH.

Please educate him......

You don't need to insult people to pass your message across. The MNJTF pulled out from Baga because according to them the Nigerian Army was not serious about fighting BH and they do not want to risk the lives of their men, not surprisingly our Army was chased out by BH within 3 weeks of their departure.

The current military operations was started by Chad because BH activities are affecting their trade-routes from Cameroon (Chad is Landlocked) and they entered Nigeria without permission when they pursued a group of BH operatives from Cameroon. It's very embarrassing that Chad and Nigeria are operating within Nigeria's territory and liberating Nigerian towns no matter how small, if you are a patriotic Nigerian like you claim it should be embarrassing to you too.

Nigeria's military on paper is more powerful that the entire 15 other west African nations combined and yet we are in this mess.

Of Course i dont have to insult him. Its just a matter of choice. And so i choose to. Its that simple. If you read my post, i admitted the shortcomings of the NA. Their ineptitude got us into this mess. But with we fool ourselves when we now deride them and praise the Chadians for doing nothing. Every dick and Harry now engage in deriding the military and downgrading the country. Nigeria is far above any sole individual, and as such shouldnt be ridden down like a flea. Take it or leave it, we are the architect of our present predicament, and we seem to have decided that joining the Chadians and even foreign media to belittle ourselves is the right course of action.
Its embarrasing to me that Nigerians like you, who believe you are patriotic think being patriotic is to belittle the efforts of the armed forces. And your analysis is faulty. Not only have you refused to admit that Chad has been used as a base by BH, you talk about them starting the current military actions. Chairman, i must say, you amaze me. If as you say they started it, how come they keep complaining that they are not allowed beyond where they currently are. And how dare you say they pursued BH into Nigeria without permission. God have mercy. Their sole mandate is simple, "Man the borders, do not allow BH pass through into your territories". And for your information, Biu pleaded with Chad to come rescue them.

sorry to say, sirshymexx is thinking with his head in his backside. For your mind, you done make sense finish. Being objective shouldn't kill you. If you have followed the war against boko haram, maybe you would have been wise before throwing away your pride and calling a fowl uncle just because you wanna eat it. Admitted the NA were disappointing to have allowed this situation become worse. But ascribing victory to Chad is dumb. They retreated from Bags two days before it was taken by BH, you are blind to that. The SA to Deby was arrested with sophisticated weapons meant for BH, you refuse to think. Since they joined the war, they keep recapturing what they had earlier captured and you think they are the best thing to happen to you. Why not move down to Chad and become their citizen?
Even synergycom own worse.
Despite NA retaking over 38 towns back, and Chad finding it difficult to hold on to just the two they claim to have captured.

I have avoided commenting on certain issues on nairaland, however going through this thread am appalled and disgusted at the comments of certain people. No doubt, Jonathan. seriously messed up in relation to boko haram, but applauding Chad for nothing smirks of unbridled ignorance. In these individuals anxiety to ridicule Jonathan, they have ridiculed Nigeria. We are ever blind to the reality on ground. When troops from Niger and Chad left Bags two days to the attack, we all pretended not to hear about it. Despite Chad troops being limited to just 50 km into Nigeria. and not being involved in the liberation of towns ongoing, they still choose to praise Chad. Why not relocate to Chad? After all in your warped minds, they are better off than Nigeria.
I repeat, in as much as Jonathan has failed Nigeria, must we downgrade ourselves and sell off our pride. Shameless nitwits.
