Now, my prep begins;
|
Been long i updated this page... A lot has happened. Of recent interest is this discovery.... A BMW E30 Coupe with M technic options. More details upcoming
|
elviszzz:Only you know the starting issues by scanning the car. It is 2001 which implies OBD2 compliance. Apart from body and suspension parts, the 'engine, drivetrain, transmission etc is similar to the following car models: E430 C 43 AMG CLK 430 E 43 AMG Once you scan and get the codes, you can mention me on this post and we would review them together. Please note that some corolla parts are more expensive than similar Benz parts.... And here is a warning....Benz is like cocaine; once you start using a Mercedes, to change brands would be hard.... |
msochi:Bros. Tell the truth....you want the car. msochi: msochi: |
Day11:I read that earlier. What I would like to know is that is the 'engine block' cracked, punctured, scraped, scrapped, melted etc Saying engine block not good is a diplomatic way of masking the exact explicit problem. If I come to buy the car, can the car start and drive or I would have to tow away? Please be explicit. Thanks |
Day11:What exactly is wrong with the engine? What are the symptoms Thanks |
NgcoboP:If you want exceedingly good MPG, you can get a Toyota Echo or Tercel. Driving a full executive sedan weighing 1.6 tonnes doesn't depend only on air. The Sequioa consumes way more fuel than the E class...check your figures. If you are complaining about an E class consumption, what would you say of the G wagon or S class. To each according to his taste. |
NgcoboP:Ok... Whilst not quoting exact MPG figures, I think my car (a W124 now with a 2.3l 4 cyl carb engine consumes same fuel as a 2007 model E350 Mercedes Benz 211 (6 cylinder). Same volume of fuel covers same distance within Lagos. The E350 does it faster and more comfortably but it is still same fuel consumption. When I had a poor CIS injection system with a 6 cylinder engine in the same car, I was getting around 50% of the E350's consumption. |
NgcoboP:Apologies...was thinking you were the guy that recommended the golf carb conversion. Apologies once again...the sun is a bit hot here |
NgcoboP:Since you have decided to go the route of 'travesty', I would not grace you with further comments. If you cannot explain how you intend to put a golf carb on a Mercedes Benz as being the more economical and practical route, please let this slide. Cheers. |
NgcoboP:I get superb mileage. In addition, I get enough torque to move a very heavy W124 along the busy streets in Lagos. Now, why do you recommend using a golf carb instead of a Mercedes recommended carb? |
bfanibi:Interested in used tractors that can be repaired. Contact me via mention if you have. Thanks |
We can all see the trends here. First, he starts with a differentiator...not all are scam divinelove:Then he goes ahead to proffer a possible solution divinelove:Once you can 'go through a high ranking customs officer', you can get the 'genuine' one. The next step would have been someone coming up with a different moniker to state that there is a senior customs officer and his number is 080xxxxxxx. This would have garnered many views and before you know it, in the midst of us presenting arguments for and against that possibility, some.greedy people wojld be calling the provided phone numbers and be getting scammed. And the op can still walk away. He used his original moniker to sound innocent and genuine but he is not. Divinelove busted divinely.... |
divinelove:Congratulations on the 9 years of meritorious service to humanity. Hope it reflects well in your pension. Now back to your tirades. Since you have spent the last 9 years of your uneventful life on Nairaland, have you seen just one person who has bought a car from these your scam ads? Since the answer is no, I am sorry to inform you that; *You have wasted the last 9 years of your Nairaland history. You have learnt nothing tangible from all the surfing and I am sorry to inform you that the next 9 years might go down the same path if you don't change urgently. *the cost of educating you has been a complete waste of parental resources. Raising dogs would have been more profitable albeit less stressful. It is not too late to change from this path of damnation. Change your ways. This is borne out of the 'divine love' that i have for you. PS; Scammers on NL might have a real moniker then have countless numbers of fake monikers used in posting custom sales' scam.... |
nurey:Well, my double barrel is pointing in your direction |
Speedracer001:My E30 would beat yours when track opens in January. Registered already and in the market for a E30 to rebuild from ground up. I promise to reserve a space for your car in my rear view mirror |
The OP is a scammer. This is an old trick used by scammers all over. Remember those people who dupe passers-by at our bus stops or in taxis? There is always someone who acts like he is a passerby too or a passenger. He plays the game and wins, then encourages you to play. For all I know, he might be behind all those fake monikers selling these cars everywhere. He was told it is a scam and he kept defending. He always has a subtle response trying to tell to give them a chance... *Spits on thread and walks off....comes back and decides to deposit a tonne of turd for op to munch on* |
Valjinn:Golf Carb when there exists a proper high capacity Mercedes carb ![]() |
eezeribe:Clap for your self. Now can you list what is wrong in buying a 190 in 2016 or 2020? |
babymakaveli:The W201 Mercedes Benz came with the M102 engine which had either the option of a Bosch Mechanical fuel injection system aka Jetronic or Stromberg 175CD Carburetor. The problem with injection system was that it being mechanical, required adjustments and fine tuning afyer the car had racked in thousands of miles. Unfortunately, the proper factory recommend processes are not in use in Nigeria. Despite this, some 'injector specialist' had over the years of tinkering found a way of adapting the CIS to almost a sane level. The Stromberg Carburetor was extremely reliable with application covering many different cars. It was easy to maintain and can last a million kilometres. But first, to confirm if your car's fuel consumption is really high, check the condition of your spark plugs. This is a wonderful tell-tale of the CIS system... confirm if it is carbon fouled or oil fouled. If plugs are bad, kindly change them first. Secondly, be sure that your distributor, the rotor and all ignition components are in top spec. How dirty is your air filter? The Jetronic system also has some settings which should be adjusted by someone who knows what he is doing. On top of the fuel distributor, using a 3mm Allen, turn counterclockwise to lean the mixture a bit. If all these seem not to work and you want to enjoy the car, kindly do a swap from the CIS injection to the carb system. You would need the following A carb rated fuel pump Complete intake manifold for M102 carb system Stromberg 175 CD carb Hoses (around 2 yards) You can update as required. Warmest regards |

Esseite:Wow |
sammotos:This should be a CLK 230 Kompressor. It seems when the 3 and 2 at the rear decals got removed, it was swapped in error. The C230 kompressor is a lovely engine to have. Happy sales |
sammotos:Dear OP, You might need to verify some certain facts about the car. First, there is no 320 that is 'V4' or 4 cylinders in the Benz clk line-up Secondly, there is no 320 that has a kompressor badge. Either the car is a 200 kompressor,or a 230 kompressor (if it has 4 cylinders) or it is a 320 and it has 6 cylinders, being a V6. You can include the engine bay picture to assist you in clarifying further. Have a nice day. Cheers |
NgcoboP:Ok...how do I buy? From an email address? Are you selling only the pictures? Kindly provide answers to the questions raised by shagati. PS: I know you can do better than this, 'Smartchoice" |
op, you are an individual of plural personalities. are you selling as-is or restoring for the final end buyer? why is your phone number not stated. where is the location of the car? is it available for inspection? etc so many unanswered questions....so many gaps. |
NgcoboP:Smartchoice, put your phone number ![]() |
