cornoil: Though i use pedal or sometimes steering lock, but insurance is the best. You can sleep with both eyes closed You are right insurance is wonderful. However with insurance, you would still spend time filing claim forms, allow the insurance company conduct their investigation and after some time get only a reimbursement for the value of the car after theft. You could mitigate the risks with some simple precautionary steps. www.dennautoworld.com |

DGD1: if toyota were a nigerian company or if they had a nigerian in there board of directors, they won't ever think of stopping production of this pencil light. imagine the most recent of that car is about 15yrs old and such car still rocking over 1M with ever increasing demand Nice observation. Instead of just throwing away or retooling when a new model comes, it should be possible for car manufacturers to send in the moulds to the countries that still has the great demand for such models to continue production. www.dennautoworld.com |

billy187: I quite expected the results of this test to take the path they took. Most of these fuel saving concoctions I believe contain similar ingredients to in-tank injector cleaners: which do work- to some extent. The fuel saver probably did clean up the fuel lines, combustion chamber, exhaust and all in between, leading to a more efficient burn which of course, will result in less fuel burned. It might not be worthwhile in the long run though...as u can save more by just buying a few more liters of gas.
Thanks for conducting this test, Denn! I'm Looking forward to more from you. And yeah, awesome blog! Thanks. www.dennautoworld.com |

Zoharariel: @OP - I do not mean any offense but there is only 1 way to preventing Toyota Camry theft - Don't Buy It! Lol... That's a good option... However, the one million naira worth of paracetamol in lieu should cover the pains from walking through and fro on third mainland bridge for one year. Pun intended |

DGD1: nice job Mr denn, I would suggest you broaden your case study, don't limit your research or solution to pencil alone. For example theft of this 2003-2006 corrola is on the rise. more people will benefit doing so. eku ise Thanks boss. |

bedfordng: you can't be able to add the domain to your wordpress for free. They will charge you. On like blogger, you can add it free and also blogger is widely used. Wordpress is mostly used if you are self hosting it yourself, not the free hosted version I started with both versions...blogger and WordPress. I find WordPress more easy to use for a beginner like me. Thanks for the comments. I could consider blogger for other platforms in future |

http://dennautoworld.com/2016/01/25/pencil-preventing-theft/The Pencil Light Camry is a thief’s collector item in Nigeria. A trip to any Police Station in Nigeria would reveal this. Many reasons for this. First, the Toyota Camry is a highly desired car and will always command a relatively higher resale value compared to its Honda Accord and Nissan Maxima competition. The high demand for the cars translate to a high demand for spare parts. The spare parts must come, either from imports or from local sources… Yes…used or stolen. A large percentage of these stolen vehicles end up as spare parts just hours after being stolen. Secondly, the relative ease of stealing the Toyota Camry and the ready market for a used copy encourages its theft the more. You see, the Pencil Light Camry, like its other ‘cheap’ Japanese counterparts of the late 90s era came only with Steel Keys and no transponder. This was the same technology used in the Datsun 120Y, when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. Well, they slapped on some toy alarm and remote locking which mostly no longer works by the time the car is released from USA and Canada for Nigerian use….after going through salvage and all that. This makes it easy for anybody with just 2 minutes access to your key have a chance to duplicate it…and drive of with the whole car when they want. Your mechanic is a prime suspect. He has links to the spare parts market and knows the price of each individual component. He knows the deterrents you have installed and the ones you have deactivated. He knows your drive schedules and so on. To stay totally safe and assured, secure your car even against your mechanic. Once your car is totally secure against possible theft by your mechanic, then you have covered a lot of the possible other suspects. EgunMogaji: So you find a quiet road and make two passes and average it out. You fill the tank for each test. The amount of gas refilled = what was used.
You're welcome.
Sorry to go off beat for a sec, but for your show these are the kinds of things that interests me and not talking heads. Great idea. Points taken. |

this is a comment i got on my blog by using carburetor cleaner on the carburetor, you altered the state of the machine for the second test. the conditions of the two tests have to be the same for the results to be valid. I must commend your use of a single non return line fuel system. nice work. what are our comments on this please? |
