The middle class used the Peugeot 504 and Volkswagen Beetle.

Kawasaki, Suzuki and Vespa were used by the others...

Did my most daunting DIY today.

Removed throttle body and cleaned it.
Removed all my injectors and spray-cleaned them. Added new o-rings.
Removed idle control sensor and cleaned it.
Removed paper block used to block idle control activation by previous kazeem....I wonder why it was there.
Replaced blocked vacumm line to throttle body.
Did a power was to remove all gunks on the engine


Vehicle is a Cherokee XJ 4.0L 1990 model.

This is more of the off road wheel...

G-Wagen 460.....

Someone has an exact replica of this wagon close to my farm location.

Guess what he did? He replaced the engine with a 4 cylinder Asian engine....the 4wd forever condemned to hades.

You have a good eye.

I would advise you expand the off road capabilities more than cosmetic changes.

*front and rear lifts (3 inch)
* heavy duty shocks.
*larger tires with a deeper offset.
*driveability upgrades

In an utopian world, we would just need to do what is ideally recommended. In a world like ours, we should put these variables into consideration before judging the owner:
*total disposable income over time
*frequency of breakdowns with the default set up
*availability of parts
*affordability of parts (the golf engine might be dirt cheap compared to using stock)
*Technical know-how

Though HP and MPG might have suffered, I see a technician who made a condemned car work with available parts.

I applaud the kazeem who did this conversion.

I think he asked for your location to determine who could have helped you check the car physically from cartalk.

We have guys who own garages and scanners and you could even get someone to scan for free...if you are lucky...I would have scanned for free if you were a pretty lady for example and located nearby .....and ready to hang out over bottles of drinks without bringing your choppy-choppy friends...and if we talk about cars and life and other stuffs....let me stop lest I digress

Bros. Your problem is simple.

Your engine is even simple to work on by the average mechanic.

Look into your MAF...

The local mechanics call it 'airflow meter'.

Then while at it, remember to change your air filter too. I can bet you have not replaced it since Gowon got married.

I cannot imagine driving a veyron along ikorodu road only for it to over heat, then I look for a nice mechanic to help remove the troublesome thermostat. Finally, when cruising to visit nurey at ipaja ayobo or abule egba only to meet a large pot hole filled with muddy water....
