i stated earlier that some rust was noticed and will be corrected.

took it in for repairs today.

rust had dug in around some locations...

trunk door was removed...

currently being fixed. rushed to the airport to catch a flight out so could not wait to see the outcome.

took pictures of the rust. i have been trying to upload but my network here is a bit messy.

will upload tomorrow morning.

Next item to fix will be the fluids.

i need to drive the truck through all the states in the south west over the weekend on different family engagements and need to have new blood in The Truck of The Yellow Sun before then,

i called someone on NL for mercon v ATF and was charged 4k per bottle. oil filter at 4k too, tranny filter at 10k.

the person suggested i use Mobil XHP (a common 20w50 engine oil) and i flatly refused. i told him that will do more damage to the engine IMHO.

please advise of where to get affordable parts

Sorry bro 4 d late response.
I order from the US. Amazons mostly.

I jst ordered for set of motorcraft spark plugs and another driver side mirror cos a tricycle broke d 1 i had 2weeks ago.

If u have the opportunity, try order for part u might need in advance,it will really help u.

For me i have a spare throthle body, fuel filter, oil filter and some bottles of mercon v Atf at home.

Also try go online and research in diff forum what issues are peculiar to ur truck so u can prepare for them.
How many mercon v do you have? If you want to sell your oil filter and mercon, what will you take?

Thanks

How can I get the aforementioned parts.

For starters, I need to drain the fluids... Engine oil and tranny.

Filters would be needed too

300km/hr.. in the south west? u probably can only try that on max 3 or 4 roads...
Ibadan - Oyo road...
Oghomosho - Ilorin-
IleSha - Ife portion of Akure ibadan express Way...
I said try- but a speed of 300km/hr is like gambling with your life with odds of 50/50... U probably will have a fatal accident 50% of the time you try that...
Denn! It's been a while... grin
Ok....

Yes it's been a while.

My sports trac has arrived.

How's the trusty avalon?
Car TalkRe: Updated.. My 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Thread - "Truck Of The Yellow Sun" by Denn(op): 5:13am On Oct 21, 2014
First things first.

My To-Do list:
Engine oil change - 5w30 recommended
Oil Filter change - Motorcraft preferred
ATF change - Motorcraft Mercon V.
Tranny filter change
Addition of tints to the front windows... Permits to be gotten.
plate number... Commercial number preferred

Panel beating.: noticed some rusts during purchase but not something that cannot be fixed. The tailgate portion mainly. Buying cars from cold climates can be a pain as the road salt does serious damage. Best advise is to check the underbody and door hinges well during purchase. Luckily, I have mainly surface rusts.
Application of anti - rust in the pipeline too

side skirts on driver side needs replacement.

Led lights installation on the interior lamps.

Installation of premium sound system. Head unit, under seat woofers and premium speakers

Installation of over head high intensity lights on the roof for use on farm

Inspection of the shocks, axles, bushings

Jst serviced my ford f150 with Castrol 5w20 full synthetic oil. I intend rocking it for the next 5000miles. Each 1L bottle cost 2100 naira. Immediately after the service i noticed tremendious increase in acceleration and improved mpg as i did over 100 miles. I actually also changed my fuel filter with Motorcraft filter and motorcraft oil filter.
I strongly think going by manufacturers oil weight specification is the only way to go.
Hello

Please where did you get the motorcraft parts?

@Denn

In your initial response to my post, you asked two questions:

1.Which Street legal car will reach 30ksh in Nigeria? Which I have answered I guess comprehensively by mentioning just 2. And who says the car in my original post is street illegal in Nigeria and is not even being driven on Nigerian roads as I type

2.On which Road? There are several roads in Nigeria capable of supporting a peak as different from a sustained speed of 300km+. I had wanted to list them, but on second thoughts, I won't. But if you check the other thread on fastest speeds attained, you might have noticed guys and maybe girls that did 240km or 260km, I don't think it is that had to add either 60km or 40km respectively to make it 300 if your car can take it and you have the tires to support it
I do not know of any road in Nigeria where you can safely get to a cruising speed of 300km/h...

None to my knowledge.... And I have done a fair share of driving.

On the new ogbomoso to ilorin Road, I cruised at 200km/h and only for a very short period.

300? No

Yes. I got delivery of my Ford Explorer Sports Trac today.

It looks different... Not seen much like it around... Even on American forums... Yellow; I have nicknamed it truck of the yellow sun.

Specs will be loaded shortly.

This thread will detail my work on the truck... What I believe should be done on every family used car acquired.

Caveat.
I am not siena and not even at par with the gurus like lomomike, CityNG, Coldplay007, sultaan, etc

Just accept me as I am

^^^^^^ i have a question pls....so i don't turn to a proverbial lamp that shines everywhere but refuses to see its own bottom-

Are limited liability companies required to do the court declaration of shares being above 51%?

Legally i don't think so as there is already an allotment of shares form that shows the shareholding.

However, i don't want to start scampering all over abuja looking for a court.

ideas welcome pls.... pardon my question

@denn I have a question pls, can you tell me about the site you use in Netherland am an importer too but mostly I use the Asian and american markets would be happy if u can help me with that of the Netherland. thank you in anticipation
Nb: am also a farmer but am presently not practicing cos I want to go into the market aspect u know what I mean...
For Netherlands, I did an online search for the companies that supply the specific growth substrates I plan on using and found out they exist in Netherlands and China. Their prices were even cheaper compared to China and they are industry standards.

It depends on what you want to buy. If you provide specifics, maybe we can help raise points...

Cheers
BusinessRe: Youwin Business Competition 2013 by Denn(m): 9:10pm On Oct 19, 2014
^^^^^^^why did you wait till this time to raise this question??

If I were you, I would get someone with the required certificate as a shareholder (less than 5% shareholding).

you hold at least 95% and this won't give any issue in future.

Limited liability company registration.

I don't know if this is too late or relevant again sef

That's a personal issue that I'm going to let you resolve on your own.

Do you have any input on the topic or you just came in to lash out at CityNG?
CityNG, Coldplay007 long time dudes...

I don't think Coldplay007 was insulting and it seems CityNG is a bit touchy today?

If you are in lagos, a bottle of star each at Stalad Gardens can settle this ripple.... I pay for the first round.

Thanks for the information.
How do you go for the registration? Is the registration facility available online? If the registration facility is not available online, where can I do the registration in Lagos?

Thanks
Depends on your business location.

I went to their office on Adeniyi Jones....almost the last building on that long stretch.

They will ask where your business address is...if its not in lagos, they will tell you to go to the relevant state...they also want you to go to their branch closest to you..

You will be given two forms, told to write two letters on your letter head with answers to a set of questions.

budget going there twice....first to pick up the form and guidelines and second to submit. go with original registration documents, 2 copies of your certificate of registration and 1 copy of other registration documents.

go with your company stamp or seal if you have.

once your forms have been picked, beg them to help process. they don't accept bribes.

it is something they can do.

daz all.
