Why are they just talking since 2009? |
Many thanks to the OP for this insightful thread on Phishing emails. When you go to banks in Nigeria these days, you often see people shouting on top of their voices 'won ti wipe owo mi lori ATM' (They have cleared my money on my ATM card). These people are most of the time victims of phishing emails cos they have inadvertently filled forms online. Nigerians need to be educated that they don't have to put their details on everything they see online. My younger sister had to learn the hard way after paying $75 phone bill in US for putting her phone number on a rogue website despite telling her on so many occasions that she needn't fill out every column on forms after I saw her DOB on skype. The way these attackers work is to generate and send as many as possible emails(millions even),if just two unlucky victims respond, the attackers are more than happy and count it as a success cos they will sqeeze the victims to a pulp. So, my fellow Nigerians learn and get secured. |
TCD bro, you've got too much time on your hands. They will continue bashing BB cos in Nigeria, information security is nothing to us. |
She's not that bad. She just needs few elocution classes. |
Awww bless you Ms Rokiatu. So, your pregnancy is how many hours old? |
v3:The things people do with their systems amaze me sometimes. If CAPSLOCK is not working the next thing is to reformat or upgrade bios. Now, they mess up the innocent laptop and techs start racking their brains. This is why computer shops charge to diagnose and rip n00bs off. I'm not ashamed to say I have never done anything on BIOS before, cos they dont just malfunction if you don't tamper with them and FORMATTING should be the last resort in any given circumstance. I give kudos to ZIMDRILL. |
Jeophri:Who told you upgrading your bios will reduce excessive heating? Stop using your laptop directly placed on the bed or on the couch. Raise it in such a way that the fan/vent underneath is not blocked. These are mostly the causes of excessive heating. |
chic2pimp:Yes. Mamagee |
Stup!d policy in my opinion. I used to work with a guy that got married to the branch secretary, HR had to move her to another branch. Once thay are not in the same dept or report to each other in any way that could cause conflict of interest or collusion, the bank can waive the policy. There are people here with their grand parents in the same job and everything is fine but we just have to make things difficult for ourselves in Nigeria unnecessarily. |
Write Man U off at your own peril. |
Someone just watched unfaithful with Diane Lane and Richard Gere. |
Thanks for this vital information. |
Now I'm convinced beyond reasonable doubt that there's problem in Nigeria. When able bodied Nigerians are requesting for visa information to Rwanda and Angola. |
This woman is crazy, see how she finished Naija police. ![]() She looked nice when she was fat jare. . . |
Is Aminalib a midget?? |
There's nothing Nigeria can do because we don't have conventional telephone lines to carry sensible speeds. We are still in dial-up world. It's a shame! |
senatorbc:I have not used matlab before but it should run perfectly on VMware winXP. Try and uninstall and clear the matlab traces in registry with probably ccleaner. BTW, with windows 7 32bit,how many gb RAM did you allocate to VMware to run matlab? |
senatorbc:What problem are you getting? Do you know if you can run matlab on windows 7? Have you tried running it in different OS compatibility mode? |
Opyso:There are guys here who can help you. Mine was installed by a friend and he almost went mad cos it developed errors during installation on the two different occasions. So, he doesnt even want to hear about doing any SAP installs these days. @kiwi, nice to see you back. |
ikamefa:I wonder too o, me I know its her idodo |

People need to understand that BB is a business machine and they dont do beauty. They are just like the IBM of phones. They just had to do the likes of torch and storm to feel among. Their main focus is security, thats why you'll only see the CIA,FBI etc use it, even Mr Obama. Any message you send via BB is secured with unhackable encryption, if an IT director loses his BB, all he needs to do is call the system admin and the BB would be remotely wiped. Now, they could integrate Blackberry Enterprise Server with company phones in such a way that if a phone extension is called in an office and the owner is not there to pick up or he is enjoying himself on the beach in sunny climes, the called would be routed to his blackberry like a local call. They are just trying to maximize profit by diversifying to service you and I. They are here to stay and corporate bodies are buying in bulk and also paying licensing fees for blackberry server applications. The manner in which school kids use BB pings around here have made service providers forego charging for text messages. |
