What is your point. There was nothing like barriers in an Islamic empire. They were a nation and not divided into countries.

So it was not a Turkish or European thing but a 16th century Muslim thing.

I've got a childhood friend, I've known her all my life......she's been to my house several times, spent weekend together and we've done so so much together. Her parents know me, talk to me and everything....my parents know her because she visits regularly and all that....

I've never been to her house, she stays @ bayelsa and for years she always comes to mine and it all....despite all her invitations, my parents won't just let me...I'm done with school and it all but they won't let me...

I had to pull away from our friendship b'cos of all these....she invited me to her sister's wedding earlier this year and I could not go because of my parents...

Two weeks ago, she asked me why I now hate her and I was so shocked....I explained it all and she invited me for her sister's wedding once more and I promised to be there..

I've just been told I can't go, I just feel bad...ii don't know what to say...she is my only friend and without her I'll be a loner..

The irony of it all, my elder sister has been iin school all through this ASUU strike and she's not bothered..

I came back home to take care of the house, I still have my project to submit but I came back home....

I'm not perfect, I try my best for this family...

I think friendship should be more about having an understanding of each other's situation than about what you can do for each other.

As a good friend, she'd understand your situation and not allow it affect your friendship.

Coming home, I come with mosquito repellant. That's my body cream. Malaria shouldn't be taken likely. Make sure you get a test even after treating it.

It has been explained sha..except the part where you say people thought you are SS.

There is actually a notion that people who have the SS genotype are less likely to have malaria because of the sickle shaped red blood cells, which is unfavourable to the growth of the parasite.

The other type caused by female anopheles can be cured with over d counter medication.

“For years people have been talking about creating an Islamic bond – or Sukuk – outside the Islamic world, but it’s just never quite happened,” Mr Cameron will say. “Changing that is a question of pragmatism and political will. And here in Britain we’ve got both.

To comply with sharia law, Islamic investors are forbidden to receive interest. Sukuks avoid this problem by ensuring the fixed return investors receive on the debt is linked to the profit generated by an underlying asset.

The value of Sukuks already listed on the London market has reached $34bn (£21bn) over the past five years with nearly 50 bonds quoted by the London Stock Exchange.

Sharia-compliant funds have already been used to fund some of the capital’s largest developments, including the Shard and the Olympic Village.

More than 20 banks currently offer Islamic financial products and services in the UK, more than any other Western country, with the number expected to grow further.

The Government has put securing links with growing financial centres in Islamic countries and fast-growing Asian markets at the heart of its plans for the City.

Earlier this month the Chancellor, George Osborne, announced a deal with China to make London a leading centre for the growing trade in renminbi-denominated assets and to make it easier for Chinese banks to set up investment banking operations.

Here is what I wrote on another thread, yesterday.

deols: Nigerians are fond of criticising their leaders and bad mouthing everything Nigeria. whereas everything wrong with Nigeria is displayed by them especially on this forum.

To follow simple rules is a problem and when things don't favour them, they cry fowl.

I am more surprised at the following they get even when they propagate such lies as, ' I did nothing but was banned'.


Many people on this forum are grown ups and should be of good example to others. But probably, there is a mentality of, 'being defiant is good' and 'going against the law is cool', 'trolling is fun'

even though chat rooms are available for all the other things that they want to say.


Not claiming to be a saint..But at least people should stop being agbayas and take responsibility for their actions by either apologising or serving their ban silently.
