I apologised to Abu Mikey simply because he deserved it. I can never be bothered about someone who lies that he was banned just for viewing a thread and those who believe him. Seun did not have to apologise. He has done nothing wrong. And LGB did not leave nairaland. He will be back like the others, under another username. |
coogar: if i twist your mouth for you, you will cry.Not when I have teeth sharp enough to bite. chaircover: Leave him! Ive reported him to Ileoba. He will soon be the one with a kettle slammed into his head. Not a bad idea ![]()

I dont know the Igbo part but I had an idea that Coogar likes beans hence supporting the beans guy ![]() |
This is what you mean.
Explain yourself please. I dont even understand, at all. |
@deols(f): 1:49pmI will not only close my eyes but blind them to him. ![]() |
Sissie: @deols did you say all the attributes, hm LOL. Maybe some of the attributes then he can hollaExcept the married part.. ![]() I doubt that he'd be married sef..not with me still single..lol ![]() |
Afam4eva: I know about Okro and not Yam. There's a town in Kwara state that has the highest number of twin births in Nigeria and they eat Okro like no tomorrow. It is Igbo ora in OYo state and not Kwara They attribute it to yam and also Okro. |
Spits aid the spread of some infections. Spitting all around is bad!!! Stop it!!!! And cover with sand or wash down a sink! If you must. |
4-5k a day?? Who can tell how much that is? I think the reasons for the monogamy clause could be many * monogamous marriages are less troublesome and the state of mind of the Imam would be determined by how well his home is. * the provision for the Imam maybe just good enough to cater for a monogamous household. Some mosques have housing for the Imam close by. * The Imam's family is a role model. Wives fighting for example, would not be welcomed. The need for him to have good features too..kai! Them Imams must have been the hottest of the time..and he had to be good in sports etc.. That is like the modern day Model.. Now, if someone has all of those attributes in this day and time...........holla ![]() |
Winneygirl: The Op is here crying because the man was able 2 beat her and no one took her side. And some day, he will beat you and have his sister join at it. Btw, why did coogar deny the Ohio girl?? O ga o ![]() |
well, there are certain practices associated with being a muslim in nigeria, and which muslims themselves consider part of their religious obligation. polygamy is one- it remains the man's discretion if its something he wants to venture into, but at the same time, he knows it is expected of him as a practicing muslim. secondly, there are certain behaviours associated with muslim singles when it comes to interaction, and i thought being submissive was one of them? Why is there so much emphasis on lowering gaze if at the end of the day, there is so much rebelling against almost everything else. For example, you proved from the Koran, that a muslim wife is not expected to do house chores or cooking. If the husband requests for these, then she can or should divorce him. lastly, you folks are making it seem as if marrying a muslim man is hell on earth, however, are muslim men worse partners than other men in general, because i personally cant say i have that impression from my limited exposure to the nigerian muslim population although of course as you pointed out, region of origin should be considered?
I dont know why you bother since you already have a set of beliefs about Muslims and our interaction here won't change them. |
vedaxcool: I wonder how many Imams would in this day and age meet this criteria, they are too stringent indeed! At this time, a person's value is based on how much they have. People with all of these knowledge, who should be religious leaders abandon the pulpit for money making businesses. Maybe when we pay our Imams good money, we would get really knowledgeable people to lead us. I once narrated a story of an alfa who said the knowledge you gained in school is for this world only. Such a person should never have been allowed on a pulpit. He only attended an arabic school and assumes that goodness ends there. I am hopeful of a generation of really educated Muslims leading us to our glorious past. |
RoyPCain: this is a horrible advert especially its restriction of one wife. no wonder the kalifah office was lost on the turks. And on this note only, you crucified a whole empire.. That is too bad. |
Nigerians are fond of criticising their leaders and bad mouthing everything Nigeria. whereas everything wrong with Nigeria is displayed by them especially on this forum. To follow simple rules is a problem and when things don't favour them, they cry fowl. I am more surprised at the following they get even when they propagate such lies as, ' I did nothing but was banned'. Many people on this forum are grown ups and should be of good example to others. But probably, there is a mentality of, 'being defiant is good' and 'going against the law is cool', 'trolling is fun' even though chat rooms are available for all the other things that they want to say. Not claiming to be a saint..But at least people should stop being agbayas and take responsibility for their actions by either apologising or serving their ban silently. |
@Abu Mikey, I am sorry for editing your post that way. |
Abali1: LOL, at protective brother.oh!!! my bad ![]() |
ma sha Allah. a maximum of one pretty wife!! where are those people who think marrying many wives is synonymous with being a good muslim?? hahha..I will come and read this again..in sha Allah |
summary - Some people are in control. |
jennykadry: If a BIL tried that on me, his status will change from DEAR BROTHER INLAW to LATE BROTHER INLAW RIPThis got me laughing. hahaha |
coogar: verbal aggression is a form of abuse. You won't give up abi? fact is, she did not say she shouted. and she could have said a lot of non abusive words while waving her hand. Would you have acted like the BIL? If Op is your sis, will your reaction be the same? |
Abali1: The Op made a big mistake. If it were my sister, that guy must surely end up in the hospital. There are no two ways about it. Even in there own house, my BIL or any other person for that matter will not dare lay his or her hands on my sister. And if you must do that, make sure that you do not stay around afterwards.Your sister is blessed to have a protective brother like you. My very much younger bro, while walking with me stays by the main road. He'd rather walk close to the moving vehicle. It is good to have siblings you can count on. Not one that is asking why you provoked him |
coogar: what do angry people say when they wave the finger? isn't it "don't ever try this & that again with me & reh reh reh?" the OP said she was boiling like red beans & she "overreacted". can you in your infinite wisdom tell us what she meant byshe could have shouted..she did not necessarily abuse him. 'Give me back my book and dont ever take it again' can be said while waving a finger. It does not mean that she abused him. |
ubl6: His parents died as non-muslim. But the prophet himself has never been a pagan.the Prophet's (sa) father was no pagan.he was a HANIF (literally "monotheist" who followed the religion of Abraham).moreover there is a hadith from the Prophet (sa) that states that from Adam (as),he (sa) never (in respect of ancestry) was in the loins of a polytheist/idolater or zani (adulterer). as for the religion of the Prophet (sa), before the revelation of verse 5:55-"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion"-the same can be asked about any prophet from Adam (as) to Jesus (as),before Prophet Muhammad (sa).what was their religion? it is from the unique and truthful nature of Islam that you find its name stated in its holy book.in the bible, you cannot find "Christianity" or "Judaism" stated/named therein or enforced upon mankind as God's revealed or sanctioned religion that humanity must adhere to.furthermore, this connects with the fact that Prophet Muhammad (sa) is the final prophet and messenger of God through whom God completed all His messages to mankind and finalized them.in other words God's teachings became institutionalized under Islam with the coming of Prophet Muhammad (sa).Prophet Muhammad (sa) became the success of the prophets in establishing God's complete and perfect religion on earth.Jesus (as) did not claim to be Christian.Moses (as) did not claim to be a Judaist.they all called to the worship of One God and to obey His commandments (an act synonymous with the word "Islam",which is "to submit" to God's will).with the completion of the mission,God finally said this is the religion called "Islam" that we as humans must follow to get closer to our Creator, and be guided and to attain salvation. in essence Prophet Muhammad (sa) as all prophets before him were "muslims" in belief and actions, but not by name, before the revelations of the Quran.you can call him also a "Hanif" as his ancestors were, and it is fine. |
macof: I am not Muslim. It's precisely ur muslimness that is blinding ur eyes to the truth. You are so caught up in Islam and the wrath of Allah which the Koran preaches has put fear in u, so u dare not open ur eyes to reason against Islam and the Koran. The likes of you think that calling others blind make you appear as being sensible. Alas, you are not. Imagine that someone wants to learn of Yorubas and then goes to live in Northern Nigeria to have a feel of what a Yoruba life is? If you are not learning Islam from Muslims, you are simply deceiving yourself. learning the truth indeed...can't stop laughing at that. What makes Quran unique is the way its message is passed. The message was memorised and passed from generation to generation in the form that it was revealed. How possible could it have been(if it was a folklore) that started only about a thousand years plus ago..to have been passed on in the same manner and format. There is the written Quran in books and there are people who have memorised from people who memorised from those who did...until the time of the prophet There are people still collecting chains of transmission of hadith until this day. In Islam, you'd hear words like..deols the daughter of A heard it from the son of B who narrated it from C etc..and the trace gets to be to the exact date and time of the prophet. If proven to be otherwise, the hadith is rejected as weak. So when a Muslim tells you something about the history of her religion, especially when a backing can be provided by the Quran or authentic hadith, you better just accept because that is the truth. onetrack: If the Bible and Quran are the word of god then I for one am not impressed. I have many books on my shelf that are more concise, more consistent, better organized, better expressed and with fewer contradictions and errors than the aforementioned 'holy books'.and what does this prove? It says that some books have been written like the Quran without mentioning the book. and a philosopher, whose state of mind at the time of writing this is unknown, is to be believed. because he said so? Lol. |
armyofone: It is your sister I pity o.lol I like your username btw |
I never ate at a burial and never will. Thank God I am a Muslim ![]() |
coogar: yes - it would have been. issuing threats & being verbally abusive are parts of domestic violence. the hubby has a cooperative witness(his wife) so i am sure both of them would have slept in jail that night if they had both pressed charges. What in the Op says she issued threats?? You are trying by all means to justify what he did. She did not even say that she abused him. |
Logicbwoy: Lol....i didnt know u were like this. haha:-/ |
chess guru: No biggy..I'd J̶̲̥̅̊u̶̲̥̅̊S̤̥̈̊τ̲̣̣̥ take the new car keys again..the car can't stay in my compound. She can park it in thy kingdom come, but not in my compoundYou are simply telling her to leave your house. Don't you think that it is wicked to deny her access to your car in the first pkace? As your wife, no amount of anger should make you wish her bad. Did you expect her to start taking bikes all over town when there are cars in your garrage. A man too wicked to be deserving of a good woman's company. He is better off single- forever!! |
armyofone: I think we should make it clear to each other before marriage that he/she will not eat for X days when there is argument. That way you know to cook for yourself. It saves on the food rejection/wastage/anger for not eating etchehehhe.. |
yellowpawpaw: Aaww! Madam moderator!YPP!! I am glad you are Ok. Mind is at rest NOW |
