MAYOWAAK: What a day!! Animals are killed (for sport) worldwide in celebration of a guy that heard a voice in his head telling him to slaughter his son and which somehow that same voice made a ram magically appear for him to kill.
Joke is on you, boy.

CrazyMan: That's the problem with most Nigerian christians...this "my church is better than yours" and "my religion is better than yours believe" has made so many christians enemies of themselves.

In case you don't know, Jesus ate with tax collectors, hanged out with illiterate fishermen who later became his disciples...etc. He lived a social live on earth.

If your mum claims to be a christian, then she must start by socializing with people who she feels are inferior to her in religious terms cos that's the only way you can win them over...christ tasked us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us and not to keep away from them.

@Maclatunji and delos kindly waybill some meat come my side make I chop biko hunger de hammer me for here...
Lol.

Thank you for the shoutout.

I hope you had a great day smiley

naptu2: This has been the reality for a long time, but it's gradually changing. The General Hospital Marina Lagos and the Island Maternity are now hooked to an Independent Power Plant and are no more on the national grid. There are now inverters that act as back up when public power fails.

I lost a friend to a similar circumstance in the early 2000s cry
Okay..

I hope they'll keep it up and extend it to other hospitals.

They need to also do something about the mushroom private hospitals. My relative almost died in one before being moved to UCH, Ibadan.

kayword: its not lyk the woman herself is not working. What if she contributed more 2wards the breaking up sef.
Surely there ought to be compensation but slicing it equally is a bit harsh on the man to put it mildly
That is the western model. In their culture, a woman and man getting married have become one.

Do we niot always argue that any part of our culture that doesn't go against Islam is Okay?

Anyone getting married in a western society knows this. It just goes with the law which does not go directly against any principle of Islam.

It is a bit harsh though. I would not want to part with my money. May I never be in that situation sha.

olawalebabs: There is this challenge a brother is facing right now.

There is this lady he is engaged to, both family are in the picture of what is happening. The man is a graduate and well do, the lady is an undergradute in one of the university in the country, this brother is willing and ready to marry her now, but the lady father insist she have to finish her school before any talk of marriage. this is almost costing the relationship. What do you advise?
The best thing is for them to be married but we all know what these parents are guarding against. There are men who would start showing authority immediately after marriage, asking her to stay at home, disallowing the completion of her education.

She could get pregnant too and without support may not be able to continue with her education.

The man needs to speak with them about their concerns. If he can give them assurance that he has her best interest at heart, or work ways out of whatever concerns they have, they may give in.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op):
tbaba1234: The question is how much her value added to his material wealth. Maybe nothing or a lot. Each party shares a part of the blame for the relationship crumbling. Why does the man pay? I have no problems with him giving her something that she can work with, but half his wealth is too much.

Once a lady has a man's 'mumu remote control', she can make him do almost anything, including marry her. This is why I feel the muslims have an amazing model for marriage if we observe it.
If the remote control does work, they should not be getting a divorce grin

Concerning money sharing, It goes both ways. If the woman is richer, he gets from her wealth.

The reason it seems unfair is because men are usually the ones paying.

Let us focus locally and see how fair this could be. Let us start with the Islamic model. In Islam, a woman pays back the mahr if she seeks divorce on no reasonable ground. But if he divorces her on a reasonable ground or not, She just leaves even if she has no where to go.

How much protection is there for such a woman. If she were Yoruba, her family won't allow her in. They will feel disgraced by her coming back. She loses it all. This is the reason many stay married, suffering.

Now, please explain to me how a woman would rather want the Islamic model. Maybe there is some good that I dont know about yet.

HealthRe: Surgery Done With a 'rechargeable lamp' In Nigeria... by deols(f): 12:56pm On Oct 15, 2013
amateur: These Doctors couldn't. Have started out with a lamp: power outage must have led to this horrible scene. The lamp must have been used to bridge the interface between the power cut and generator back-up. This is the real situation: shame on our leaders. And this is a federal Teaching Hospital. Am not a Doctor but when they are on strike, nobody understands the details.
When Dr.s ask for these things, the public even ridicule them forgetting that the people who suffer the repercussion are the masses.

Kudos to people who carry out successful surgeries under these conditions.

I can't imagine working in this condition. haba!! It is the reality tjough..too bad. I am angry sef(lojo odun!!)
