ITbomb: With the deregulation, we expect prices to rise and fall, however, I think we should have a stabilization fund to keep prices stable for at least each quarter.
When the price is lower than govt price, we save, when it is higher, we use it to keep the price.
It will help in medium term fiscal planning
Someone will still touch the stabilization fund and it won't be available when needed. The best way to deal with most Nigerians is to never give them the access to the purse.
A pastor and his church members gathered to destroy their Bibles.
The pastor and his members felt misled by the Bible and decided to destroy it as a form of protest ignorantly.
The pastor claimed the Bible had deceived them for over 400 years now. He questioned the Bible's authenticity, saying some parts are missing and incorrect, siting some examples.
He made several misleading claims: that some Bible portions are missing, that the Bible's portrayal of God is untrue, and that the Bible contains bad things despite being called "holy."
Additionally, the pastor criticized the Bible's origins, specifically King James' involvement. He viewed King James as a slave trader and disagreed with his role in translating the Bible.
However, the pastor's arguments and that of his church members, were based on misinformation and a lack of understanding.
This incident serves as a warning: we must be cautious about the churches we attend, the messages we hear and the pastors we follow. Misguided leaders can alter our perceptions of life and God, leading us astray.
Watch the video to hear more reasons he has to say.
The Bible wey you get now is the same thing with the manuscripts that have been found before your ancestors were conceived. Whatever you don't understand is beyond you.
Ojuntana: That's not true. Majority of the democracies in the world use Majority rule and not plurality of votes. Even the US with electoral college requires that the winner have above 50% of electoral college votes (270) before he can be declared.
The reason you have less than 50% is because inec hardly does a clean up of its records. The dead, those who have left the country etc still remain on the register as eligible voters. In terms of representation, the total number of registered voters in Nigeria is less than 50% of the population. This anomaly only exists in crooked systems like Nigeria. How can we say we have a population of mostly youths and yet our voting population is less than half of our total population? How is PDP a dead party? They have 13 govs
The USA doesn't use the majority votes pattern you described. The declared winner fell short of 50% of the vote cast. PDP had higher numbers of States in 2019, lesser after 2023, and it will continue to dwindle. It's a dead party.
Ojuntana: Yeah I get that. But that is plurality not majority. That's the basic fact. ANd democracy is supposed to be the rule of the majority Buhari won the majority of votes in 2015 as an opposition which I think means he couldn't have outrigged the sitting president Jonathan might still be a member of PDP or not. He has not attended any PDP event since he left office OBJ is no longer part of PDP
Most countries I know use our own kind of system: the candidate that wins the highest votes more than any single contestant takes the crown. The only problem I have is less than 50% registered voters determining the outcome of the polls. We should work on streamlining the process so people can vote securely without standing on the queue for hours just to choose their choice of candidates in an election. PDP is a dead party anyways.
Ojuntana: Seems you missed the class where it is taught that every election is a referendum on the party in power. It is either to renew their mandate or kick them out. So it is farfetched to say those who voted for Obi voted against Atiku. What are they voting against Atiku for? He is not in power is he? I agree that we have conditions for runoff and we run a plurality system. But plurality breeds possibility of rule of the minority over the majority. That you cannot deny Two former Presidents in PDP? Who and who? APC have been ensuring that opposition is destabilized. It did not start today. So they did in 2015. So they are still doing.
The definition of majority vote according to our constitution is a candidate having more votes than other individual contestants, not all of them combined. As long as the person with more votes satisfies the conditions for voters spread, he's the winner. You're expecting too much if you think someone alive will win an election in today's Nigeria, with majority votes over the cumulative of all other contestants total votes, without daylight massive rigging. It's fair enough that the winner must have at least, a quarter of the total votes cast in 2/3rd of states and the FCT. Jonathan and Obj are still alive. Why are they on the sidelines watching how the party that gave them the platform to collapse?
How did 14m people vote against Obi and Atiku? I think it is the other way round
I was not necessarily referring to you in terms of interest. I was referring to the point you made about the guy. He is tentatively correct. what holds in Nigeria presently is a minority rule. If he is saying that because of Obi then he is wasting his time because Obi will not qualify for a run off given his numbers
One of the reasons why the APC is infiltrating and destabilizing the opposition is because they know how badly they are performing. Folks who blame Atiku and Obi for the state of the opposition fail to realize that they are the least of the problems. For example, after Pa Lamidi's claim to the chairmanship of LP was dispensed off by the courts, Abure started plotting how to retain the seat of party chair, which though legitimate was untenable giving the deluge of accusations against him.
Same goes for PDP. Wike has been instrumental in keeping Damagum on seat through the courts. The game is to ensure that the PDP remains incapable of getting itself back on track. Wike is at loggerheads with the PDP. Why is he still there? Is it not to ensure that the party does not have a chance at stability?
So if we keep focusing on personalities, we will always miss the big picture which is the attempt by APC to ensure that the opposition remains weak towards 2027. A weak opposition ensures they are less accountable to the electorates
The people that didn't vote for Obi either voted for Tinubu or Atiku. That's some 15m+ people. Same for Atiku. Or should we just ignore that and focus only on the winner? If you vote for a certain candidate and he or she turned out to lose, you didn't essentially voted against the winner, you only voted for your desired candidate, otherwise, you might as well say you voted against every other contestants, since you have just one vote. We have conditions for runoffs, the total number people who didn't vote for the winner is not one of them. I don't think there's any deliberate attempts by the APC to destabilize oppositions, at least, not the PDP. We still have two former presidents who ran on the platform of the party. Maybe be their silence means Wike is doing something right.
Ojuntana: It's not about who wins or not It is disheartening to see young Nigerians unable to discuss issues without attachment to personalities How are you guys even sure your interests align with these persons you are quick to defend?
Who am I defending and what are my interests. The earlier you realized that the people that didn't vote for the incumbent voted for that choice of candidates and not necessarily against the winner, the better. Going by your logic, at least 14 million people voted against Obi and Atiku in the last election. Why should we bother giving them a second chance at the polls?
CodeTemplar: Lack of money has never held them back from looting or sponsoring pilgrims.
That's the mindset of the average Nigerian. The people in power are looting instead of spending right. You give them the opportunity to do better, they'll end up worse than the people they criticized. If the government have all the resources they need, the word "budget" would not exist.
Ojuntana: The guy is very correct. The election should have gone to a runoff between the 1st and 2nd position
What is presently happening is rule of the minority over the majority
Going by your suggestion, I believe the person he's replying to will still have problems with it, because the person he voted for won't be on the second ballot. It won't make any difference, because the current president would still have won against atiku
CodeTemplar: exxqctly. Same clowns ignored it until it became an eyesore then want to get praised for being late.
Like everyone else, the government doesn't have all the resources to do everything they want. Like everyone else, they have to set priorities. I believe you have 1001 things you desire to do right now, na money dey hold you. We should try to make things make sense abeg.
What an idiot. But senior pastors don't have problems taking from the poor? Bible says givers never lack. The hand that gives is always at the top. Where in the Bible does it say senior apostles can't give to people that are in need, because those will have their blessings blocked?
maasoap: It is not even Sharia courts but Arbitration Panels that settle disputes between two Muslims or two groups of Muslims who are interested in taking their issues there. Just alternative dispute resolution panels for Muslims. Besides, what's the problem of Christians with Sharia meant for the Muslims. In fact, not even for all Muslims but for the Muslims who are interested.
Courts are meant for dispute resolution. You can't form parallel court and expect peace. Any resolution reached outside the court holds no water.
presido11: Muslims are more in numbers in SW, about 70% if I am not mistaken.so majority should always carry the vote. All these attacks on Muslims in SW are uncalled for and must stop. Let them live freely and practise their religion of peace in peace.
No, it's not 70%, it 99%. Idiot. So for every 10 Yoruba person, 7 are Muslims? Can you listen to your miserable self?
axglide: It was the noise and shouts from the neighborhood that woke me up that morning.
I looked beside me and my wife was nowhere to be found. I checked the time, and it was 4:32 am.
The noise kept increasing, and I took a little time to listen… I discovered that some people were actually crying.
I checked the restroom, but my wife was not there.
"Where is this woman?" I muttered to myself before I left for the sitting room.
I was shocked when I saw neighbors and friends in our sitting room mourning, wailing, and crying.
About four women were holding my wife as she kept crying uncontrollably.
"What is going on here? No one seems to notice my presence." I got furious and shouted at them all, "Can someone explain to me the meaning of all this? What is going on here!"
No one answered…
I looked closely and saw my picture sitting on a table with a book and a pen before it. My heart began to race, and I ran back to the bedroom! I froze as I saw myself lying motionless on the bed!
Is this a dream or death? I ran back to the sitting room to grab my wife. It was then I noticed something most unusual!
My hands went through her as if she was a wind!
I shouted in fear, "Darling, what is going on?!"
No response from her or anyone. The wailing and mourning continued.
I broke down in tears because it now dawned on me that I have departed from this world. At that realization, I felt a hand on my shoulder… I looked towards the direction and saw a being that words cannot describe. His presence generated some heat around me.
From that moment, I was no longer in control.
"Follow me," he ordered, and I did. We moved with a speed that cannot be described. Our legs were not touching the ground.
The more we went, the more heat I felt. I asked him, "Where are you taking me to, sir?"
His response almost melted my entire being! He said with a tone of finality, "You are going to hell, the eternal home of the enemies of God."
"I am a believer in Christ Jesus," I protested.
"Yesterday, your daughter was pleading for your forgiveness, and you swore never to forgive her.
Your wife was pleading with you in tears to forgive your own daughter, but you said over your dead body.
Have you not read that if you do not forgive men their sins, your Heavenly Father will not forgive you?
"Please, can you give me a chance to go right my wrong?" I pleaded.
"I am afraid it is now too late. The state you enter eternity is the state you remain," he replied.
I shouted, "God! Have mercy on me!!!"
Suddenly, everything and everywhere were still and silent.
I started feeling pains at the back of my head and body. I heard the voice of my wife from afar shouting, "Jesus, Jesus."
The voice was coming closer to me with time.
Then, I heard my daughter singing a worship song, "No other name like the name of Jesus…"
Suddenly, I felt like I was on a bed and started feeling some hands on my body. I sneezed and opened my eyes!
My wife shouted, "Praise the Lord," but my daughter continued with her worship song. I saw two medical doctors and some nurses. It was Bedfast Military Hospital.
The doctor smiled at me and said, "You are welcome. We thank God that you finally come around." My wife held me tight, and my daughter knelt down in tears.
"Daddy, I am so sorry for breaking your heart. Forgive me."
I held her hand to my chest and apologized to her for failing her when she needed my love the most as a father. "I am so sorry for letting you down, Jumoke. I too need your forgiveness." "I forgive you from all of my heart."
For over 30 minutes, I wept without control…
It was in the midst of my tears that I was told how I got to the hospital. I fell down at the bathtub, landed my head on the floor, and passed out.
So, all I saw was a dream, vision, or revelation. I can’t even tell, but I learned a lesson I could not have learned any other way!
My daughter got pregnant four years ago and brought shame to the family and my reputation.
I swore never to forgive her till I die. For four years, she has been pleading, but I refused to listen. She needed my fatherhood desperately at the time, but I denied her.
So, I could have ended my journey in hell. I could have messed up the salvation of my soul because of unforgiveness. Thank you, Lord, for your mercy. Thank you, Lord, for giving me a chance to make amends.
Thank you, Jesus!
Friends can you take time to ruminate? If you happen to die now, is there anything that will stop you from making heaven? Settle it now. Sort it out now! For it is appointed unto men to die once and after that judgment.
"No repentance in the grave. You have only one life".
Forgive your spouse, children, friends, neighbors and colleagues' misdeeds. God bless you in Jesus name. *AMEEEEEEEEEN* .🙏
I recommend Christ to you, my friend and brethren...
Satanic teachings. It's a biblical fact that the dead are resting and no one is in heaven or hell yet.
THEDEEPSIGHT: Please remind us when Egypt was "in charge of Gaza"?
See werey. Egypt was in charge of Gaza from 1949 to 1956 and again from 1957 to 1967. That's how many years? And last time I checked, Jordan was also in control of the West Bank for some time. Instead of settling for a two State solution, the so-called Palestinians wants to clear out the Jews from river Jordan to the Mediterranean sea. Do you even know the meaning of Palestinian? It means "invader", so you should now know who the aggressors are before you take side because all you black Arabian slaves can't think outside of your religious divide.
babyboy4every1: At times let reasons with our brain. How is a terrorist apologist? Can i just come and chase you from father's house and relocate yiu to an a place alien to you. Wjy cantyhe take them to America? Can others people land?
Arabs are not the owners of the land. Most of the people you call Palestinians are actually Arabs from Jordan. Make una rest
360degreess: . Don't mind them, their problem is ignorance. If they know how the Jews hate Christianity, they will not support them. people that hate Jesus with passion. last year, they banned the calling of the name of Jesus in public..The Jews don't believe in Jesus period.
We don't care if Jews hate Christians. Muslims hate us more. Islam is a disease that must be cured for the world to know peace.
360degreess: . You are abusing Almighty God.Oluwa means God in Yoruba,Chineke means God in Igbo,Ubangiji means God in Hausa, Allah means God in Arabic,..etc every language has the name it calls God.can someone now abuse Oluwa, Ubangiji or Chineke? Whoever does that means he's abusing Almighty God.You see what ignorance has caused you.Infact, may God bring calamity and disaster into your life. And if you think this course will not affect you, let's wait and see between now and 2months from now..
Allah is a moon god, an alias for satan. That entity has nothing related to the Almighty God of creation. Whoever is using that name in reference to God Almighty is on his own.
Sterope: If It is done in Christian majority countries and it applies to just Christians. No one is stopping you. But like everyone like you, you are very dishonest and ignorant.
That Sharia law is limited to civil law and;
A good number of you will not practice religion with total devotion or you pick or choose what laws to follow in the old testament but you want to lecture who have chosen to practice theirs. You expect us to take your opinions seriously.
Shariah is not a civil law, it's an Islamic law and has no place in Yorubaland. If you're so in love with 7th century barbaric laws, maybe relocating to Iran or Afghanistan will be better for you.
Vikto17: How many people were using banks during those days? when one micro finance bank can confidently serve an entire village , 80 percent of Nigerians were unbank ,, how in your little mind do u think one bank can serve the whole village? there was a time we all also live without cells phones? can you do that now? think and see how flawed your argument is
Listen to yourself. You just said more people now use Banks, so why should we now put our lives in the hands of POS vendors? Just like call centers, POS business will soon become a thing of the past. I don't even know people who use Bank need to carry cash more than 10k at any point in time.
