OP has a point

However most of the issues raised are systemic.

Even if you bring a tech wiz with his bright ideas, he'll soon get trapped in the highly political drive for "promotion" that thrives in many of our public universities.

After marking time on the same grade for a few years, our poor revolutionary will realize that the game isn't really all about helping people learn, but about whose good books to be in, and which behinds to kiss...

So he falls in line.

And the story goes on. Sad.
You're on point. The very reason I didn't follow up on my interest in teaching in my university.
I didn't want to get trapped in the mentality I observed among my lecturers.
The students suffer in the battle for position and promotions among lecturers.

Correction: Okocha's super eagles match was not against Ivory Coast but an earlier match against Algeria in Lagos. Nig 4:1 Alg. Okocha scored Nig's equaliser from a free kick curled over the wall. 03.07.93
Okocha also played for Flying Eagles in Mauritius "93 junior nations cup.
You also missed his one season in Qatari league.

Shameful we celebrate mediocrity..

Nollywood is about fake accent, noise, shouts, scream, vulgarity in words, confused scripts acted by bleaching young men and ladies within a one week duration.
My friend go and sleep joor.
Am not a fan of nollywood but you can't help appreciate their huge economic impact in the continent.
China started by copying western products but today they rule the world of manufacturing and has become the largest economy in the world (U.S is ridding on past glory).
Whether fake or real accent let them grow until a generation that have the confidence of our own accent and complexion arises and takes over.
Up on until early "90s, all our artists were American rapper wanna-bes, Michael Jackson imitators etc.
Then, a generation arose that adapted rap music into local languages and style and completely shove American style aside. Our artists used to dream of performing on the stage where an American artist had performed as a status thing. Then they started performing on same stage together only when the U.S stars were invited and paid heavily to come to Nig.
However, as of today, the American artists are the ones calling our artists for collabos to add value from the huge African market that Nigerian artists have taken over.
Every journey begins with a step, the walk and run will follow as the confidence grows.
Please, Let them be.

All committees GEJ set to probe one or several allegations in his govt how many reports ever came out?
Somebody please tell me who was ever suspended in GEJ's administration, even the indicted Grandpa of Lagos PDP (forgotten his name now), ehen Bode George, who was successful prosecuted by EFCC and served 6months jailed term, was he not cleared later by govt? Soon afterwards EFCC became toothless or hybernated.
In civil service disciplinary actions are not always automatic.
You must always find something to wail about. If actions are swift on suspected offenders una go say Buhari na dictator, he no follow due process. If he follow due process una go catch headache, why the delayed action.

1. Kanu Nwankwo was Nigeria captain to the Atlanta Olympics winning team in 1996.

2. Nigeria's Super Eagles coach, Lars Lagerback, named Nwankwo Kanu Nigeria captaint to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and Nwankwo Kanu, it was Kanus third World Cup.

Atlanta Olympics team was U-23 and not Super Eagles.
Uche Okechukwu was Super Eagles captain that time after Austin Eguavoen retired.
Okechukwu was drafted to the Olympics team as an over aged player but Kanu retained that captainship.

Christan Chukwu without doubt.
Stephen Keshi captained the longer than Chukwu and also successful than Chukwu.
Chukwu's reign was from the later part of the "70s-81.
After failing to qualify for 1982 World Cup in which he was actually called from retirement in the final match against AlGeria.
Keshi started from 1984 to 1994, equaling Chukwu's Nations Cup success and going to qualify for the first World Cup.
Keshi reigned over generations of players and kept his Captaincy and Charisma.
He also led the exodus of Nigerian Pros abroad and succeeded.
Keshi is the Top gun.

. He was a member of and later captained the Nigerian national team for 16 years from 1994 until 2010.
Sorry my guy, this is not true.
Kanu played his first senior match in 1995 at Wembley stadium against England.
Within this time period (1994-2010)
Many other players captained Super Eagles, Austin Eguavoen, Uche Okechuchwu, Sunday Oliseh, J.J Okocha before Kanu

Please edit that statement.

FirstCounsel:
A few youth team keepers looked promising but somehow failed to make the cut later eg: Lemmy Isah; Andrew Aikhuomogbe; Angus Ikeji; Greg Etafia; Bassey Akpan; Dele Aiyenugba, Ambrose Vanzekin; Dosu Joseph (injured) etc
Including Lucky Agbonasevbaefe (First Golden Eaglets goal keeper China "85).
Most of were at the time Rufai, David Ngodigha and Alloy Agu held the SE.
While they were good at the junior level in their height, Most Of them were too short, less than 1.82m (6ft) tall except Lucky Agbons exactly 6ft tall.
Even Lucky Agbons was told by Westerhoff that he was too short in compared to Rufai and Wilfred (about 6.3ft) tall.
Watch YouTube videos, you 'll see all of them in action.
Sports › Re: Nigeria's Seven (7) Greatest Goalkeepers Of All Time by DeRay98(m): 1:08pm On Apr 18, 2017
In terms of achievement, longevity and consistency in action for Nigeria, Vincent Enyeama is #1 and unrivalled.
His success has been under appreciated due to the many needless hiccups caused by the ever incompetent NFF.
Peter Rufai is next but he seems to have respect than Enyeama because of the fact that he was last of the generation that was in action in days when our league was pulling crowds and Stationery Stores was Lagos fans darling club.
Dosu Joseph has no place in top 15.
He only kept and won at the Olympics and a few Super Eagles matches later before his accident.
Baruwa has no place here either though he had more matches that Disu, he was inconsistent.
David Ngodigha, late Wilfred Agbonavbare did great at critical points in WC qualifiers.
Agbonavbare only made a mistake in one match in a Wafu Cup in 1984 and Nig lost to Togo 2:4 and the Nig press black mailed him thereafter which many people didn't know what happened but kept rubbishing his name for long.
Alloy Agu had Westerhoff's favour with Christian Chukwu's influence from 1986-92. Being young from Flying Eagles of 1985, they hope he would improve but he never did but Westerhoff ignored other options, as far as defence was good he was kept there till his error reached its peak in Senegal "92 Nations Cup semi-final and Nig lost to Ghana.
At that time Agbonavbare had been the 2nd Best Goal keeper in Spain for 3yrs but they ignored his performances.
Not wanting to risk Agu errors again, Westerhoff brought Wilfred back and kept goal for all the matches in 1994 WC qualifiers and most of the Nations cup qualifying matches.
Rufai had been out of football after Maroc "88 Nations cup, he went to school in Spain and came out with Master's degree.
By 1993, he was returning to action but rusty. After Nig had qualified for the Nations Cup with 2 matches to spare Rufai was recalled to be tested in the inconsequential mstches and his return started from there.
Okala was a collosus mostly to his intimidating height.
His time was not that long in the 70s before Ogedengbe displaced him 1980.
Ogedengbe time was not that long too. His success in the 1980 NC made him.
By 1982, Rufai, Patrick Okala (Emma Okala's younger brother) and the return of Peter Fregene from the cooler displaced Ogedegbe for good. Fregene didn't continue after Libya "82, Pat Okala and Rufai continued to "84 NC.
Only Rufai remained from that time till David Ngodigha and Wilfred (from a successful 1983 Flying Eagle).

This is exactly my worry, the tendency to impress has led to overzealous display of stupidity and poor security awareness.
This whole story could have been written in such a way as to conceal the presence, involvement of the whistle blower in the process and how he got knowledge of the money.
Describing his presence in the process of lifting the heavy bags completely revealed his identity and thus has put the patriots life in grave danger.
That poor man will have to leave country asap because NIA director will use the govt security apparatus at his disposal to hunt and eliminate the poor man and only his family can tell that he's missing.
Sahara Reporters have just endangered the whole process from the policy's first major achievement.

If a girl slaps a guy, feminists will say he should walk away. But if a guy slaps a lady, you irrational and sadistic feminists will cry blue murder, in fact, you will HAIL the lady if she reacts by using an object to hit him. Maka why?

I'm sure you have been coming across the word "bigot" without knowing what it means. Please, help yourself with Google.

Your opinion isn't that of a feminist but that of a sadistic and confused lady that is aligned with the Naija brand of feminism. Defending yourself is GOOD but I hope your father won't cry blue murder when your self defence go haywire?

I'm sure you will land a guy on the street that provokes you a heavy slap, please, don't play victim card when he reacts with greater measure.

Being a female is no licence for irresponsible behavior.
You just dey form with all the grammar here.
Bullies start small and as they succeed they grow bolder and more daring.
As a male during primary and early secondary school days, I had to show to some of my classmates that being a quiet and easy-going boy is not weakness.
On a few occasions even my friends tried to bully me because they thought I couldn't hurt a fly.
And each time, i did the unthinkable. After trying to avoid confrontation by attempting to walking away from tense situation, each time i was pushed around. My strikes always came without a warning afterwards and it was debilitating.
I know where, when and how to throw a punch with such a speed and surprised that the target usually neutralized.

This government is useless.

Tracing and recovering stolen loot is doable:

1. Give a 3 week amnesty period to return the money.
2. Close all BDC. All conversion must go through the banking system
3. Change the Nigerian currency with immediate effect
4. Implement death sentence for all looters who have stolen more than $1million
5. Offer 10% to all whistle blowers irrespective of amount

Watch how fast things will change
Changing the currency would have been the best single option as the military used to do whenever they take power but printing new currency in this tough times is too expensive otherwise Buhari would have since done it.
I think Soludo was the last CBN to print new currency but he stole so much that immediately he vacated office PDP sold their Guber ticket for Anambra state to him to the detriment of their other party loyalists and rest is history.
