Tstunt: Hello
I recently received a notification via email to book my appointment but I'm hesitant to book because my plans have changed.
I will still want to travel to the USA but I need to go to the Netherlands first before for an extended period.
Is it possible to change my interview location from Abuja to the Netherlands without making another visa payment? Any ideas, please? Pls, these dates you guys are talking about, are they dates for fresh visa interviews? As in has the procedure chaged from submitting your ds160 form and proceeding straight to search/chose a date? |

I got my approval to schedule an appointment for submission in less than 15 minutes, I was surprised because based on what I read on NL I thought it’ll be a forever wait time. Pls how near is the appointment daye you got? |

webm: Hi everyone, I applied for B1 Visa for conference since 2021 and the interview date I saw at that time was October 2023. I chose a date in October and it's coming up but the conference is past.
Should I find another conference in the USA and refill the Ds-160 form again then use it on the appointment or I should I cancel the appointment?
Also, if I'm to refill the DS-160 form, should I pay for another visa or still use the old payment I made?
I don't want to miss any conference in the US in near future Well, in my opinion, i think you should still go for the interview since you've already booked and paid for it. Just be honest with them and explain to them that the interview was originaly booked because you had a conference to attend, but that since the date has passed you would like to go for a vacation or you just fill another ds100 form and say you're going for vacation and do your homework (planing your itinerary and accommodation) Best of luck |

I think it is airline specific. Some airlines i understand accept the one from your doctor, while others insist on the one from Port health, so you just have to find out which is acceptable by your airline |

Plebes89: I'm a PhD student with full funding(in mathematics). The school also gave me health insurance but it will kick in when I get to the school and register. The school will also pay me every month as a teaching assistant. I just got my visa to travel to the US. I'm currently 6 months pregnant. Will I be denied entry by a POE officer because I'm visibly pregnant?
My husband has saving of over 10k in his dom account in Nigeria. Should he print his statement and give me to travel?.
What will i say in case immigration notice I'm pregnant. Someone said that they will let me in because I have F1 visa and that my programme is for 5yrs. I will be traveling by August.
Please I need suggestions. I don't think your being pregnant should raise any red flags. But you can print out your husband's dom account statement as a backup. Carry go, nothing do you 😁 |

Domarion25: Please I am in the UK and I applied for US visa from the UK in June 2022 and was granted ,I went for a wedding and got back after a week. Since then I’ve not been to the US. Now I’m pregnant and my visa is till valid right after my EDD date . I intend to travel before it expires to have my baby in the US . The initial visa granted was B1/B2 tourism in 2022 with no intention to go and give birth that year . What do I do? Now that I want to go and my visa is still valid ? Please I’m travelling from the UK , and I’m on a tier 2 visa in the UK 🙏Anyone pls advice me on the procedures Its the same B1/B2 visa they give people that go and give birth too, the only difference is that they obtain if for the purpose of going to give birth. Just go ahead and make the trip but with the necessary preparations like having Doctor and Hospital correspondence, accommodation arrangements and proof that you can pay your bills (either by carrying cash that you can show at POE Or having it in a card) |

TMJO: Like I said I applied 1st week in March and I was about 10 weeks then. In my form, I clearly didn’t write child birth as I didn’t know rules had changed since my last visa in 2018. There were no dates for an interview until this month. And when I got there, my interview didn’t last up to a minute. I wasn’t asked why I was traveling. It was already written on my application form. The one I sent since March right? She only asked my purpose for traveling previously to which I stated it was for child birth. She went ahead and told me my visa would be ready in 5 days. After that she added “I’m not saying you’re pregnant or you intend to have another baby in future, but there’s a new law for birth tourism”. And she handed the white paper for pickup. And I honestly didn’t know anything about applying for just birth tourism. That’s why I’m here seeking advice. In the light of your reply, i would just advice you go ahead and make the trip but with the necessary preparations like having Doctor and Hospital correspondence, accommodation arrangements and proof that you can pay your bills (either by carrying cash that you can show at POE Or having it in a card) |

TMJO: Also, I need advice please. I applied for Dropbox 1st week in March and after about a month, I got the 221g letter. Went for my interview on the 13th of May, obviously very pregnant but was still granted B1/B2 visa. Would it look funny if I sent a change of intent letter just a few weeks after getting my visa to say I want to birth my baby in the states? Hope my visa won’t be cancelled where you asked your reason for traveling to the US, if yes, what was your response? If you were asked and child birth was not in your response, then you're on a long thing o and i don't think change of intent letter would do you any good. The change of intent letter is for people who got their visa when they weren't pregnant or didn't know and now they want to use it for child birth. But if you were not asked your reason for the trip, then i would advice you just go ahead and travel and hope for the best. |

Yetyb: Good afternoon house, please I need an advice. I will be going to give birth in Houston and my POE is George bush international airport. I will be going at 28weeks and 2 days. I just want to know if I should declare cuz I am on an B1/B2 visa which I got in 2021.
What if I declare and still get turned back?
Does anyone have any experience with that POE? My advice to you is to declare your intention at the POE. But before you do that, you have to be adequately prepared. And what do i mean by being adequately prepared—: Having a written proff that you've made doctors and hospital appointments. Having proff that you're made adequate accommodation arrangements. Having proff that you've adequate finance to take care of yourself and pay your hospital bills. The above, are areas they are likely to ask you if they have concerns. At the same time you can declear that you are pregnant and they might not even ask you a single question and just stamp you in. I think you're good to go once you have the above covered just in case they ask, you're not likely to be turned back, but as you know, none of us here are cbp officers, we just offer advice to the best of our knowledge. Good luck at POE. |

Ydforlife: Hello everyone, I had my baby in November 2021 in Atlanta but my POE was Newyork and it was easy, I declared I was pregnant and the immigration officer asked how much I had and I declared. As at the time of my interview I told them visa officer holiday because I wasn’t showing at all. I got my visa in June 2021 and it will expiring June 2023 and I plan on using it again as I am due in July . But I will be going in may which means I have 1 month left . I will also be declaring and I hope they let me in for the duration I need to have my baby . I also tried drop box earlier March 2023 and I was not qualified for drop box but I saw somewhere that was because I applied too early. I tracked my application and it went from application received to no status till I picked up and got a yellow paper saying I wasn’t qualified for interview waiver . Do you think I should do another Dropbox before travelling or I should just use my old visa like that? Anyone in this situation? Thank you 🙏 Just be sure you enter the us before your visa expires, that is the most important thing . I've heard of people that got in a day before the expiration of their visas and they were stamped in for 6 months. So i think you are good to go. |

Baby came out with birth asphyxia which was surprising because she attended all anti natal. Everything was fine till birth but we lost the baby some days after birth.
Now she will take in in few months time and I want her to deliver the child in the US. I’ve never traveled out of Nigerian apart from Ghana same with her. Someone educate me on how I can get visa fast. The process , things I need etc. Do I state the reason of traveling? because I heard interview date is till 2024. Thanks Yes, you'll need to state the reason why you are traveling among other things too |

Pls I have some questions. 1) did u apply for the baby’s passport in US or Nigeria? There is no date available in Newyork. Is it true that you can apply for a fresh US passport in Nigeria? The baby has SSN and birth certificate. 2) we booked Qatar airways. Is it ok? @cutelass had this response to your post 'I got the passport in Abuja. You must apply before baby turns 1 year else it can’t be handled from outside US. You would need the birth certificate, ssn and photocopy of the ETC or any other document that you used to bring baby in. Along with the normal requirements for getting a passport listed on their website' |

babyfaiz: Hello house, My case is perculiar. My last visa expired in the first quarter of 2018. I was on a b1/b2 visa with my family. I used the same visa for vacation & childbirth. When our visa expired, I opted for Dropbox. As expected, I got the dreaded 221g letter. I had to reschedule in person interview. For some technical reasons, I couldn’t reschedule for wifey. I contacted the embassy but no specific replies just some generic stuffs. I had to go for the interview without my wife. Getting there, the first question I was asked was - where is your wife? I explained the tech glitch which wasn’t my fault but the VO wasn’t having it. She gave me the blue paper. Same year, I reapplied with my wife & the interview was very short. The first question asked was - why didn’t you declare, you were going to have your baby the last time we got our visa. Answer was - she wasn’t pregnant before the interview. More so, we stated our intent at the point of entry. The VO asked for the child’s birthday & left (I think she went to use the calendar to see if what I said was true). She came back and asked how much we paid in total and the receipt? I told her 8k & it was a c section. She requested to see the receipts and we tendered all, including the zero balance. She then specifically requested for itemized bill, which we didn’t have. I told her, the receipts & agreement was all they gave us. We had our baby in HNWMC, Tx. She then reached for the white paper & circled the Muri okunola address, saying we should submit our documents, together with all receipts & itemized bill. It was difficult getting the itemized bill as we had pre signed a document saying we’ll not be given itemized bill. When we eventually got the itemized bill, the statement says - ‘this cannot be used for insurance purposes as patient paid reduced amount’. The itemized bill had 33k. I submitted our travel documents together with receipts, zero balance & the ‘no itemized bill agreement’ with the hospital. d I think you should just go ahead and attend the interview. A lot of people were rejected that period for unimaginable reasons . I think it had to do with the government in power then and its policy. I knew people that had been to America and back like 20 times that were still rejected that period. Even women on this forum that were rejected then reapplied and got visas. Best of luck. Come back and share your testimony to encourage othets |

Kemo88: Hello everyone , Had my baby in Maryland and the hospital bills alone were over 21k, I felt like I was being over charged compared to the estimate I was given. I started off in labor and by the next day I went in for CS… I stayed for 72hrs. Then I came back after two days on account of high BP and was observed for two days. I have been asked to write a letter saying the bills are more than expected and request that some bills be knocked off. I was also asked to fill a form. But when I looked at the form all I was seeing is financial assistance. When I called them, the man was saying it’s an in-house hospital thing to knock bills off. That it’s not financial assistance. I hope this wouldn’t affect my visa application in the future. I don’t want to have any issues … I don’t know what to do. Should I apply? Please I need advice. I just feel my bills are not fair enough compared to the estimate I was given. but he said the bills have been reviewed and the only way to knock off is it write a letter saying it’s over the estimate. But the form is titled financial assistance. Advice please ? Maryland is quite an expensive place to birth in the us Dont sign for or accept any form of financial assistance. I would advice you tell them that you are paying out of pocket and that they should give you a discount. |

For example, if your last visa was for birthing, they might want to see hospital/doctors receipts etc |
