iwuoahsamuels: Pls house , need some clarification on these , I engaged two hospitals and below are excerpts from each Hospital 1: “You are not required to pay for the acceptance letter but if you are requesting on be written for any reason you will first make $200 non-refundable fee“ Hospital 2, after sending my requested status profile : “I have scheduled you to come see Dr ** on 21st may 2018 by 11am. Pls let me know if there’s anything else I can help with” My question: do I need to pay a certain amount for an acceptance letter that I need to go to interview with or for Poe? Does the response or correspondence from hospital suffice for what I need for interview and Poe Some Drs do require you to pay a deposit for correspondence, which would be deducted from your final bill at the end of the day. But you end up forfeiting it if you don't use that particular Dr. The 2nd letter you posted here is not detailed enough,it's suppose to also indicate how much the service would cost,it would also help if you have something to show how much the hospital services will cost also. |

beautyuche: Good morning House, Please I need clarification. I just applied for my mums visa. I and my sister are due two days apart and we both plan to birth in the usa. She had her first last year and this is my first. while filling the form i put in she will be traveling with My sis, her daughter, the husband and my self. All of us have Usa Visa plus her child has a usa passport. I was told this is wrong as the VO will fell its too many people traveling. Please what do you advice? cc<Just wise cc<Twoods Biko I am confuse now help a sister. mean while closest visa date is 29th january we will be traveling march. I am assuming you have already submitted the application, Just let it be. The only issue I see there is that your sister that is traveling with her whole family should have a good burden of proof to show at POE that they plan to come back home after birthing. |

TWoods: Using a birthing center is likely a red flag because it suggests you really don't have the funds to have a baby in the US. But since you're not seeking a visa, you should be ok. IMO, the important thing is that you paid all your bills and have evidence to prove. But again, no one here is a VO so take any advice you get here with a pinch of salt.
As an aside, i found this part of your post interesting... "hubby already gave me $9,000 for the trip". Sounds like you're asking your father for money. As a couple, i thought all monies in the marriage belonged to both. But that's just me thinking out loud. tpako! Why do you like behaving as if you did not live in this obodo naija before you left for America or as if you don't have family members in this naija. Have you been away for so long that you have forgotten how things are back home? |

honeywealth: Hello everyone,I'm new here.just need ur candid opinion.I got my visiting visa early Nov,planned to travel in Dec and also got a new job in Nov,and so I can't travel in Dec again as I'm currently on 3 month probation.I also discovered I was pregnant late Sept before I went for interview but I went for scan and no gestational scan was seen.I was told misabortion in d hospital and to go with my normal life.mid Nov I went for a scan in clinix to just check myself out and pregnancy was confirmed this time.my current plan with husband is to gv birth in US with my tourist visa.he's of the opinion I don't need to register or contact any hospital till I get in US.When we get there then I register.Chicago precisely.I have plan to travel in April that time I will be around 8months.I will be off probation at wk at that time.I have a 2 bro in law in Chicago that I can stay with. One of them is a nurse in cook county hosp.I also hrd that Chicago POE is strict. We currently have plan to hold enough cash at point of entry.my visa is a new one that I've nt use at all.I have also sent letter of intent to embassy on it last week sun till now I've not gotten any response from them.I just need suggestions if all I'm doing is save and is not going to affect my visa renewal.pls help a sis. You obviously have not read this forum at all. What you want to do has some serious repercussions. If you don't get a Dr & hospital correspondence before leaving naija you are likely to be sent back with your big belle at Poe. Your being pregnant and not knowing during your interview which lead to your not telling the VO, might give you issues during renewal. Cause they might think that you held back vital information If I were you, I'll try to get or tell my bro in-law to get me Dr and hospital correspondence since he's a nurse and travel with that. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY READ UP HERE. It'll help you a great deal |

hotlarry: A quick one please.
At POE, when asked where one will be staying, can u give them the hospital or Dr's address? Please need ur kind advice. But wait o,where do you plan to stay before? Why would you give them Dr or Hospital address, are they the ones accomodating you? Don't try it o, you can even be sent back if they suspect that you don't have a place to stay or that you are trying to be funny. |

captain90210: Hello family, please is there any advantage paying the $150 (or thereabout) hospital registration fee alongside correspondence with your doctor before going for the interview? At least to show some form of genuinety. Thanks Most Dr & hospitals that collect this will not even send you correspondence if you don't pay it. It is what assures them that you are not wasting their time, since it will most likely be deducted from your total bill at the end of the day. With regards to the 'genuinenty ' issue you raised. It all depends on the particular Vo and how he sees it. People have paid bills of $12k upfront and still didn't get visa,so it can be an advantage and at the same time not mean Jack. |

toesyn: Good evening all,
So I went for another interview today after coming out clean that I didn't use my previous visa for the purpose which I was meant for... Transcript below...
VO: Good morning, Passport Please Me: Good morning and I gave him my passport VO: Why are you going to the US and where Me: To have my baby and am going to Boston MANOR VO: Where will you be staying Me: Ramada Hotel, gave him the address VO: What do you do Me: Told him where I work VO: What does your DH do Me: He owns a business and I explain his business and when he started. VO: How much does he make a month Me: I told him and he said wow, and I immediately, I told him I have his statements of accounts to prove he make as much as I claimed, he said I should give him the statement of accounts, which I did VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria before Me: Yes, UK, UAE and US VO: Why US and not UAE to give birth Me: Because US gives dual citizenship which my first child already has and I don't want to deny my second child the opportunity too VO: Does your husband have valid visa Me: Yes and I gave him copy of his visa Then he asked to see the receipt of my past delivery and I showed him, VO: Are you using the same contract and hospital Me: Yes VO: Have you contacted the hospital Me: Yes, he asked for the mail and new contract, and I gave him. VO: Your Visa has been approved and he gave me the white paper.
Lesson: I realised that everybody's story is different but the most important thing is to be always truthful... And likewise, don't be scared about saying the truth. Most importantly, I prayed, Yes... I prayed.... because the VO did not even talk or say anything about why I was denied last month....which was when I came out clean that I didn't use my visa for the purpose it was meant for before going to give birth.
Thanks to everyone for their contributions here, because if not for this place, I won't know I can go to the embassy and say I want to have my child in the US.
Sorry for the long post. So,so happy for you |

captain90210: Hello NL members Great job you guys are doing here. I'm a silent reader here and believe me I've learnt a whole lot from the few days I've spent here. I've practically imagined likeable questions from VO and CBP at Poe. But I know God's grace will always abound.
Now my situation is this: 1. My intent is to have DW give birth in the us, 2. I've learnt here to make all intentions known both at the interview and Poe. 3. I have a friend who's got a green card in us, willing to send me and DW an invite for visitation (if that will get us the visa) and thereafter use the same visa for child birth purpose later next year. 4. Or I jejely make arrangements for visa interview without the invitation from my green card friend in the us.
Permit me if I haven't framed this scenario well (as a learner) but your sincere advise would be appreciated. Thanks Which ever scenario you choose is ok,the bottom line is to do your homework very well and get your burden of proof ready. |

kokorita: Morning house, please I need an advice for a good friend of mine.she had her baby boy in Maryland , She was billed 4,100.66 dollars for lab test and she asked them before the test. How much it was. And the doctors office nurses said its the lab department that handles that. Now she got a mail giving her a break down of the lab test and charged her that huge amount just for test. She's confused . Please house any expenrice or advise. Thanks But wait o,did you say Maryland? Didn't she do her research? Most of us that are here have read that Maryland is an expensive state to birth. If this bill is just for test alone, text that doctors in some other states include in their Dr's bill which at times is about $2000,then she should tighten her belt for hospital and Dr's bill o. |

She's really worried Plain and simple, tell her to tell them that the bill they gave her for test alone is the total cost of her hospital and Dr budget, that they should give her a discount o,if they know they want to collect their money. But alas! If that shakara nor work, just tell her to jejely negotiate a payment plan o,I nor fit shout. |

Weperwema: @ Everyone Pls I need clarification with this Annotation on the visa page.
DW went for interview and was granted Visa During the interview she on her own informed the VO that she was pregnant even though she just applied to go on vacation with me this December(I have visa already and traveled before). The V.O asked if she intends to give birth in the US and she responded by saying.... that would be next year in February. The V.O then said he would put that in her records but that she should inform them at the POE when she is doing and get necessary papers ready. Now she is considering going to deliver next year January because the allowed office leave for the December is just for fewer days than expected. She is now planning to deliver in Missouri.
How can we know what Annotation is on her visa? Would she have any challenge at the POE even with all her possible compliance? From what you wrote down here,I think what the VO meant was that he would record it In her interview transcript that she mentioned that she would love to use the visa for delivery. As we have been made to understand on this forum that CBP do pull up visa interview transcripts at poe |

Terese69: Accommodation - After my horrible experience living with a family friend during my last missionary journey, I decided to rent a one bedroom apartment via Airbnb. Paid $3,400 for 11 weeks. God blessed me with the most fantastic airbnb host ever. I can't sing her praises enough. She made sure I had everything I needed in the apartment to make me comfortable. She bought a dry mill blender so I could blend my banga and pepper soup spices, bought a bassinet for my baby, books and toys for my toddler daughter and a sweater for my mum when it got cold. She took me to my doctor appointments, to the hospital, passport appointment, shopping, sightseeing and then returned to pick me up afterwards when she could. She took me to pick my husband up from the airport when he arrived and even went to drop him when he was returning. Upon my departure, her car was too small to fit me and my countless bags so she rented a truck just so she could drop us off at the airport. At the airport, she helped with my bags and paid a trolley guy to move my bags to the check in area before leaving. All this she did at no extra cost to me. Even when I offered to buy her fuel for her car, she'd vehemently refuse and tell me I am spending enough already as it is. This is a total stranger o, oyibo woman at that. Someone I didn't know from Adam and had never met before. I was beyond amazed at her hospitality and generosity. She saved me a lot on transportation and made my trip a lot easier. She was simply amazing to my family and I. God bless her immensely!b] This your Airbnb host has passed host and turned friend and family for life o. To have shown you this much kindness,God bless her. In life we find kindness and help at times from people we least expect. |

Please a quick one. Would airlines allow a Peggy to fly at 35weeks?
Also, if a hospital offers a discount, because u are opting for self pay, and not insurance, should you take it. (The bill was computed with a discount for self pay patients) hope this is not medic aid ooo Pls check your particular airline for their policy, each have a different policy for flying pregnant women. Most hospitals in the Us offer this self pay discount and it's totally different from Medicaid. |
