Summerbutterfly: Hello everyone
I had my visa interview on the 26th of April 2022 after several attempts to get an appointment
I was asked the routine questions (purpose of travel, which I replied with for vacation, what do I do, I replied with I work as a medical doctor at a federal hospital)
At the end of the interview I was placed on administrative processing and I was sent supplemental questions to answer.
I’ve been To the United States twice in the past
And I’ve been to several countries (UK, UAE, Malaysia, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Turkey, e.t.c)
I wasn’t asked to show any document even though I went prepared
Now it has been approximately 2 months since I submitted the answers to the supplemental questions and I’ve not heard anything from the embassy. And I found out after the interview that I’m pregnant. Currently I’m about 12 weeks gone and DH and I are planning to have LO in the states.
Please has anyone gone through something like this before ? Because I heard you’re placed under administrative processing if your name has been flagged. I believe there’s no reason for my name to be flagged. And I’ve also heard the processing can take months This happened to me in 2018 when i applied through Dropbox and my application was placed on administrative processing for about 3 months and i was eventually invited to appear at the embassy for a physical interview. I don't know about the name being flagged, but I'm certain that they might have some questions |

Somandla: Congratulations on the birth of your baby.
Yes you can make arrangements to pay while you in Nigeria and keep receipts for your next visits
Any idea why your baby was early, did you have any pre existing conditions or was it just spontaneous early labour? Its no big deal, just discuss with the hospital that you want to work out a payment plan and choose whatever amount that you can handle. I know someone that it took about 5 years for her to clear up her bills from naija |

TMJO: Hi everyone, I’m new here. Hubby and I are expecting our LO at the end of September/October. We intend to have our baby in Houston but don’t know how to go about it in terms of accommodation and affordable hospital. Oh and my visa expires first week in September. Can I use it anyway? Please advice Yes, you can still use the visa, what the US customs and border patrol agents are after is that in as much as your visa has not expired as at the day you are entering the US, you are good to go. It's the duration that the cbp stamps you that ditermines how long you can now stay in the Us |

amdman: While thinking of ways to give back to the community, we came across this thread https://www.nairaland.com/6358078/onwe-zack-onyebuchi-provides-borehole and thought it ludicrous that access to potable water is still such a big deal for so many people particularly those in rural communities. We reached out to Zack and we were able to finance the siting of a borehole in Ogbana, Ntezi, Ishielu LGA of Ebonyi State to serve an estimated 2000 people. The project has been completed and the borehole is currently in use.
Pictures below show their previous water source and how it is now. Na man you be! Well done |

A friends brother sent him an IPhone 12 via Ups and he got a custom bill of 160k outside the money his brother paid Ups for sending it. Meanwhile I got the same phone from the Us via a freight forwarder and total money paid was 31k,which includes both sending and clearing cost. |

SmartKitty: Why? Maybe there are some people is willing to risk their own health and the health of the baby just for to get the anchor baby papers. The reasonable would be what you are advising.
Can you imagine travelling pregnant and with health issues, everywhere virus test, lines and all kind of people around maybe sick, then American hospital, we here locally are avoiding hospitals and contacts in clinics and public places, so many people die, very irresponsible. Or after a long tired trip just to be turned around and sent back because the law says no more birth on tourist visa. Anything could happen, very irresponsible. Can you just keep your opinion to yourself, are you the gate keeper of America. She's an adult, the decision is hers to make and if she decides that she wants to travel to America to give birth then let her be,haba! |

podada: Guys, my DW is heavy and we are due for visa interview very soon. what do you guys advise? do i go and declare we want to go and give birth or we just go and say we wanna renew our visas. we had our first offspring in 2017 and cleared all bills a year later, total bill was about $9,000 please i need your advices If you go for the interview and declare you want to go and give birth,I can guarantee that you will not get the visa. Getting visa for the sole purpose of gving birth in USA in no longer an option. Since you have paid for the visa I would advise you attend the interview and tell them you want to use it for vacation. Allow your wife to give birth in Naija and you guys can visit later for vacation. |

maleekberry: Please guys in the house I want to know if am going to be charged based on the CBN official rate of ₦305 to a dollar or the 360 to a dollar basics when buying something on ASOS thanks You won't be charged at the CBN official rate, neither would you be charged at the bank official rate. Each Nigeria bank has its own rate at which they do their conversion for online transaction. For example if you use their card for a foreign transaction Access bank as at today 11/2/2020 will charge ₦366 to $1 |

iykmon: This information is worth reading, we been reading denial denial for a while now. I think the US are trying to make money from us by making us do the right thing. i wish the hospital can put every cost without discount so that you are aware from the beginning. I haven't renewed mine but i have commenced a process of making payment back to hospital to reduce my discount. Total amount charge was $13700 , i have paid up 9k. I hope to pay up the remaining or make up to 12k. It is a task i have to do if that is what will make me successful. If you can pay 12k why not pay the whole $13,700 to be on the safe side |

trakos: I know some of us here have been waiting for me to share this transcript , believe me I had it in mind all these while but I got so busy in the last few weeks that it became "work" for me to sit down and type something this long.Especially with the plot twist(like in a movie) that made the story a long one.But I knew I was going to to do it eventually , for others to learn from it.
We had our interview scheduled for Thursday 27th June,2019 (6: 30 am).Me and DW had flown into Lagos the previous day as we do not stay in Lagos. After a long wait going through the screening and intake sections , we finally landed in front of this young white lady VO .She had been dishing out pink papers to people before us like that's what she's just there for, lol. Na wah o! This one shake me o. What could have been their reasons for rejecting you the us visa after you had been told during the interview that your visa had been granted,I refuse to believe that it was because Canada had rejected you earlier, since when has one country's rejection being a basis for another to-do same |

nasohian: Hi everyone, I have a child with a US passport and intend traveling for my second baby. Child will travel with me. I have valid B1/B2 visa which was vacation purpose and got it 8 months before I was pregnant.well did not plan to have child but it came. I don't intend asking for change of intent at a critical time like this. All receipts of first child's payment and appointment with Dr for this present delivery is available. At point of entry what should be my purpose of trip? Your advise pls Thanks. The purpose for the trip should be that you are there to give birth. From what you wrote I can see that you're well prepared, and if by chance the issue of the visa not being for birthing comes up,you can explain yourself properly that it was initially gotten for vacation before you got pregnant. All the best. |
