Truly people are quick to join the bandwagon even if it is something they know little or nothing about.
We continue to pay tax,NEPA bill, DSTV water bill...even if we get skeletal services in return...but we still continue to pay for services not rendered.

But one person talks about tithe and pastors and people start talking plenty and showing their muscle.

It is a pity.

@Nigeria Pastors bring out a little portion of people's contributions collected thru offerings and tithes and give scholarship to less than quarter of the their church members. I believe @DaddyFreez use his hard earned salary for that jamb form. Let's use our head. We have been deceived too much in this country in the name of religion

It's a shame to know that the so called Christians are quick to throw insults and say bad words to anybody who dares question their faith, church or general overseer. Jesus Christ, even in the face of death and humiliation still prayed to the Father asking that He have mercy on the unbelievers as they do not know what they were doing. I quake at the kind of blind and shallow Christianity practiced this days. You can respond to the people who question your faith in simple words without the insults. And Yes, Freeze is right by referring to some of you lot as SHEEPLES because that's what you are in the real sense of it.

But the false teachers are neglecting their primary and only assignments and chasing after the riches of this world. Of what use are massive church buildings when God does not live in houses made of stones? Of what use is gaining the whole world and losing your soul in hell? You will find in these mighty and useless church buildings:

1. Politicians diverting funds meant for his community.

Thousands of massive church buildings and sermons every Sunday and yet corruption is still pervasive. Poverty is still pervasive. Instead of feeding the flock, they are fleecing the flock.

I ask again: of what use are church buildings and private jets? Do they equip and edify the saints? Or they help to glorify the empire of the pastor? Do they advance the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of the pastor? Of what use are missionary schools that are not affordable? Of what use are these materialistic things that would perish one day? Why are pastors building church buildings instead of the Church?

But how can her name be written like that?
And which kain form go contain all these names?

I read the said Bible passages and couldn't find them against tithing.
The last passage you quoted will help you understand what I was trying to say about offering. The converted believers went beyond the ritual of 10percent but gave all.See verse 37 of Acts 2.
They gave all to the Apostles not sure the Apostles coerced them.It was from a willing/cheerful heart.
I have not seen where the Bible negates Tithing, which Jesus considers trivial when He spoke about the Pharisees tithing mint,cinnamon etc and leaving weightier issues.
The question is did God command it?YES!!
Did He have a reason for it?YES
Is there still need for meat in His house?YES
Will the poor always be with us?YES
Is it Sinful? NO
Is There any place in the Bible where God discouraged it?I haven't seen it

Giving is a proof of love.As Christians, it's the least we can show. If we can give to others how much more to God's house?We even give gifts to pastors,not our tithes and offerings.

Someone was saying money way never used as tithe in the Bible.. He should go read again and ask himself what income and money constitute.

We don't do things because it appeals to us.We do what the Scripture teaches and we are convinced about.

By the way, how much are these tithes people are talking about? Some spend more on prostitutes and their girlfriends.Some spend more on frivolous things but are only "savvy" when it comes to godly things.Serving God is a personal thing and no one needs to cajole you to give to someone you love.
No Christian who reads his/her Bible gives his or her tithe to enrich a pastor but in obedience to the Bible. He also offers to God out of love.
Giving is the life of a Christian because it's one of the expressions of LOVE.
