We can never develop as a country when 85% of some states revenue is used in paying salaries of less than2% of the population. It makes not sense. Many of the civil servants are redundant. The government is not ready to reduce many of their outrageous allowances and salaries but are very quick to downsize or talk about their inabilities to pay worker salaries. Am not against restructuring the civil services in Nigeria, but we must restructure the system that govern this country. Firstly all government employees including President and governors must be on minimum wage, scrap either the Senate or House of Rep, reduce their outrageous allowances, no medical tourism abroad, no educational tourism for governor's children, government must patronize locally made goods and invest heavily in Agriculture. With this, Capital expenditure will be greater than recurrent expenditure; more money for infrastructural development if indeed we are serious.
