blabulu2000:Your ignorance be like that big Nokia charger. Nah follow come. Do you understand the meaning of sitting on a fence? God forbid illiteracy. |
It's an election. You'd have to be popular among the residents before you get a chance to be elected. The person seeking election, how popular is he amongst the residents in that locality? You'd think this Igbo contestants just sprung from nowhere and printed posters?? You cannot be scared of an adventure and thirst for the glory that comes with adventure. It's trying to fly before learning to walk. If the Yorubas are not that big into expanding their tentacles, then it's fine if they're that way. No one will hold that against them. But trying to make it look like it's a phobic thing is just weak. There are 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria; take away their indigenous SW and the seemingly intolerant 'SE', are they in popular positions as they so desire in the other four regions? NC? NW? SS? NE? You may also add that in Lagos for example, the Northerners have well established colonies here; but we never see them come under fire for that. Such colonies are impenetrable except they grant permission; something that doesn't really exist amongst the republican Igbos who are here for their individual interests first before any other thing. Stop barking up the wrong tree. |
At the end of the day, all of these wanton charges end up being borne by the consumers of the service. The aim of every business is to make profit. A good number of these Okada riders got their bikes on hire purchase and have quite a way to go to settle up. Worse is, these rip offs are grossly unaccounted for. |
Commercial motorcycles (otherwise called okada) are banned in many areas in Lagos. It is also banned to an extent around Mile 2 axis. However, with the road constructions underway at many points from Mile 2 down to Badagry; coupled with the slow pace at which the work is going (and the roads that are perpetually bad),okada remains the most sensible means of navigating around that area. Using a private car doesn't even give much succour except the car flies. The alternatives to not using the services of okada are to leave home at ungodly hours to beat heavy traffic as well as to spend useful man hours in a traffic jam to and from work. When you factor in the mixbag of odours in a public bus, the decision to board them really isn't hard to make. Unfortunately, the okada men, while doing great service to people in dire need for normal movement, are not really having a field day. A trip from Okoko to Mile 2 or vice versa costs about 1500 for 2 people, give or take. A bus ride for 2 people costs about1000. And the time saved is worth double the double of the bus fare. Back to the plight of the Okada man, a fitting explanation to explain their predicament is that riding a bike as a means of survival is a curse along this axis and the demons come in civilian and military flavours to exert judgement. I will share a story. On my way back on Tuesday evening, I alighted at Mile 2 and scanned for a sharp looking bike, and I saw this one driven by a young dude. So we potential passengers struck a bargain for #1200. Before we left Mile 2, he stopped to buy petrol at #350/ltr. The petrol dispenser was unavailable for whatever reason, so it was a street thug that sold the fuel. He kept begging the bike man to let him have his change, and eventually, the Okada man gave him #50, so #400 boom. We set off. Around First Gate area, two men flagged down the bike. The first one (I later got to know, is a police man) smiled as he approached the bike man. The bike man asked me to help him with my fare and I gave him #1000 first. The police man snatched the money, split it in 500 - 500 and pocketed one of it. He then moved away. Soon as he was gone, the NURTW boys (called LASPAG now or so) came and collected the other 500. I was speechless. We haven't even covered 1/4 of the journey and everything he hoped to get from me has vanished. Unlike how we were discussing before, we finished the rest of the journey mostly in silence. My heart went out to him. For all the toiling, people just waiting by the side to reap where they didn't sow are setting up shop here and there to rip him (and others). So sad. I met him again today; he was reminded of whom I was and we began our journey since we already have a set price from yesterday. I jokingly told him I hope today will not be like yesterday and he shrugged. Reality would quickly set in. At the same point, those same two fellows were standing at First Gate. This time, I already made up my mind to not give the man my fare yet. He pleaded with them to let him go and come back but they won't have that. The policeman grabbed the money in the guy's pockets; which totalled 450. He took 300 and left 150 for the bike man. Soon as he was done, the NURTW guy came around and asked the bikeman to complete the sum to 500. The bikeman pleaded that he didn't have money. And his slippers was seized, for him to come back with the money and get it. He had to leave it there for the while and we continued our journey. Further down, we saw another 'checkpoint' but this time, it's just thugs wielding some plastic pipes. He was flagged down and asked to 'drop his money'. He tried begging them to let him go. This time, his fez cap was taken and he was asked to come back and get it when he has the complete money. I thought I was being influential by hoarding the fare; felt there must be a way he can manage to escape; Felt it can't be possible that he pays 'that much' for random individuals on the road.. How wrong I was. |
Obi Datti 2023.. We move! Nigerian Students have insured their futures

Is there a guarantee that the 'serious sickness' will disappear if she comes to your house? You already have a stand and I applaud it Since they are so interested in pushing the death agenda forward, remind them that the cost of moving a corpse home is #100k or even more. 😏 |
pquaver:Okay. Did you see the report concluded and released (while Obi was still a governor) after 4 years of Obi's tenure, by the Director of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP), Dr. Magnus Kpakol, which showed that Anambra State had the lowest rate of poverty? If you didn't, then what exactly were you researching? |
pquaver:I think he's a fool because he speaks out of ignorance. Don't be like Reno. Find out things for yourself; at least you did Research Work in the University (forgive me if you didn't attend 🙏🏾). |
omonnakoda:And what would an ignorant know about being empty? He who does not know and does not know that he does not know is a fool. I would have wished you to get well soon, but that'll be a waste. I think your ignorance is 'follow come' ✌️ |
Hmmmm |
omonnakoda:Understand that you're an empty vessel and stop making noise abeg. It's only an ignorant that can call Fela an average person by any measure. |
omonnakoda:The very first sentence is an ignorant take🤦🏾♂️ Someone who was easily worth over a million dollars in the 90s is not rich? God abeg. |
Afamed:Of what importance is knowing the father if you know the child? E good to get sense o🤔 |
A year is 365 days mostly. Count 365 days from when you paid and that's when your rent expires. Hope this helps. |
TheChameleon:Okay bro. E go be ✌️ |
We'll, I wouldn't be too comfortable. Been around long enough to see them go from 0 to 100 mph when shit hits the fan. |
yarimo:While your opinion is debatable, there is no doubt over which party harbours the most illiterates. ![]() |

I receive these calls; and if they speak nicely, most times I just assure them of getting in touch with the person on their behalf and that's it. But I never do that because it is, IN FACT, not my business. |
He took only 8 steps (to the parked vehicle) and it was repeated countless times😂 Unfortunately, data allowance has not been distributed so the urchins could not watch (and listen to the narrative) before jumping into conclusions like Karen. OP, you did them bad with your headlines💔 |
Sannisege:'those he has helped to rise' ; Is that the goal of a supposed public servant? Nah so minions take full everywhere over competence.🤮 |
Kingsmeal:God bless you |
Afamed:Noted. And what happens after the result is cancelled? |
triple996:Nobody should use autocorrect as an excuse either. Vote Peter Obi 2023 for better education for our youths. |
GBTYO:. |
GBTYO:11:25am on a Monday morning when hardworking young men and women are busy, you were courting tribal war. The government really need to focus on making job opportunities readily available for the teeming youths to avoid such misplaced priorities. 🤔 |
SmartPolician:The South could also argue that what is seen in their region today are a result of years of marginalisation and exploitation of their homegrown resources at their detriment; or come up with any excuse at that. Crime is crime; irrespective of the reason. They're a problem to those trying to earn an honest living. That's why there are laws. |
LeoDeKing:Says a fellow who built an empire of likes on tribalistic hounding of the Igbos. You've been masturbating your entire existence on any igbo thread; hell, you even had to link one here too.😏 How about you take your own medicine for a start? If they were so commonplace as you say, take a break like you advised 🤷🏾♂️ |
Islandboi:Why not? You can do that too if you want. https://autochek.africa/ng/cars-for-sale?country=ke&price_low=0&hasFinancing=true&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=Cj0KCQiAz9ieBhCIARIsACB0oGK8kVpK5b35sVzef8Ff6GVxBM13P9DFi9v_qVsunsxsdiTn7EHHAFcaAq3FEALw_wcB |
