Personally though, I have never felt any relationship to eastern Africans. I see them mostly as arabs.

PoliticsRe: 2015: Jonathan, PDP Will Fail In S-west – ACN by Desola(f):
Gbawe: I really don't understand many of you here and must wonder if you prosecute your lives with the same lack of sincerity you speak with here daily. When given lists, you will shout you don't believe lists and want pictures. When you get pictures you will shout "photoshop" or begin indicting an entire party because of Tinubu. Are some of you just sadists in your private lives to the point you cannot simply praise what is worth praising and move on?

It is clear many of you just love to wallow in negativity, bad belle, pessimism and PHD (pull him down). There is no way any objective person should offer anything but praises for Amosun for what he has done in a year. How many Nigerian States, for example, have comprehensive Government bus transport schemes? How many have employed the number of youths he has? How many have bought APC's and Patrol vans, directly taking on the duty of the FG, to combat crime? How many promised 100 transformers during election campaigning to then actually deliver 500? Why can't some of you just praise good governance effort when you see it? Or is that not what we are all here for?
You are just irredeemable. To think you had the audacity to call beaf names here when all you were doing all along was seeking attention from the ACN to give you your daily bread just like him. You are not any better than any of the 40 laptops, you are just a political jobber just like them. Pot calling kettle black, that's what you are. Bloody hypocrite! It's ok to say Jonathan is 'nada' but ACN must be adorned with veil and a halo on their head. Liar, sycophant, shameless old man is what you are. Beaf (as much as I hate to say it) was right about you all along. You lot are the ones pulling Yoruba down, not necessarily the pdp enemies within.
PoliticsRe: 2015: Jonathan, PDP Will Fail In S-west – ACN by Desola(f): 1:36pm On Sep 18, 2012
Gbawe: Why don't you just do the honourable thing if indeed you have a shred of honour in you? All you contribute here totally is uncalled-for rudeness towards everyone. Here, the only thing you should do is tender an unreserved apology. You say the Governor has done nada. Yet, shown pictures and direct evidence he has indeed done a lot, you continue to be rude, ungracious, downright unlady-like and unable to call a spade a spade. Is there no reverse gear for you at all? Even in the face of overwhelming evidence, you are still trying to belittle what everyone will agree is laudable effort. You say ungraciously, pettily and spitefully:

What is "little" about all you have seen and the fact the man, unlike most politicians, has actually gone beyond his campaign promises in some areas?

Unlike you and others, I am not a routinely negative or rude person. I don't pander to ignorance either. I deliberately look at the ideology of Political Parties to understand their thinking. Clearly the ACN, while not perfect, is better than most with its welfarist apprach and desire for financial self-sufficiency and growth. It is for the sake of the sort of thing written below that I support the ACN. Anyone who understands that evolution must play a part in our development will appreciate that we must manage what we have till the beautiful ones are born. meanwhile, all you do here is insult others while contributing nothing to civilised discussion. Here, I am a "political jobber" yet you cannot prove I have told any lie? How inobjective and ungracious does that make you appear? All your sort know how to do is tear things down and never to build anything up. Indeed this is what you limit yourself to doing here on NL.

Also, Please quit with the mock "victim" anger you are faking. At least "sarcasm" is all I have replied you with and not the sort of uncouth and unsolicited comparison talk you spewed here to deserve any perceived sarcasm. If I were equally uncouth and foul-mouthed like you, engaging in fire for fire, then we know what this thread will be by now. Anyway, I am done with you. I have made my point which i am sure objective forumers appreciate. You should just apologize and move on.
It is a shame to see what little money has turned you into. I used to have so much respect for you.

Anyway, as far as i'm concerned, he has done little but can still do much more. His achievements are relative. What is outstanding to you, might be insignificant to me and so far, i'm not completely convinced but relieved to see that yes, indeed, something is being done and just because the other governors are not as visible or lauded as Fash does not mean they are doing absolutely nothing. Prior to you bombarding me with pictures, I based my judgement on the lack of information or the lack of appraisal of he said governor on the internet but you have provided some evidence to the contrary so my assertion of him doing 'nada' has been proven wrong but I make no apologies.

I would let your infantile remarks on my online personality fly by because you are entitled to your opinion just as I now see you as nothing but an ACN sycophant. I am not an ACN member and do not advocate for them in any way. I am just an average Yoruba woman who wishes her people well and I would not let bias or my hatred for pdp becloud my judgement or observations of the performace or non thereof of ACN.

I'll ignore your childish sarcasm(something I thought could only be attributed to beaf but I guess you're actually not any better than him) and say thank you for uploading those pictures. It is refreshing to see and it really does gladden my heart that something is being done. I commend him for the little he has done and optimistically look forward to the much more he can do.

Perhaps it is time we turn the spotlight on these other ACN governors and expose their works rather than focusing on Fashola alone.

Thanks for the trouble it took you to scour the internet to put up these pictures but it was nonetheless diminished by your unwarranted sarcasm and defensive outbursts.

God knows that I am fed up of all these political jobbers on Nairaland. First it was Beaf, now it's you. Very sad.
PoliticsRe: 2015: Jonathan, PDP Will Fail In S-west – ACN by Desola(f): 8:57am On Sep 18, 2012
Gbawe: The fact is that Fashola is a proven performer. Amosun, actually is trying and it would be sad for him to be affected by the notion of lies becoming the truth once it has been repeated many times. Nigerians are especially susceptible to this because they don't like to read or rise above ignorance. They are the perfect tools in the hands of propagandists because they have no problem working with 'second-hand' information rather than seeking knowledge themselves.

The bar was raised when the ACN gained more States in the SW. There are many, for political, sectional and ethnic reason, who will never give credit to any ACN Governor aside Fashola. Whereas Fayemi, Amosun and Aregbesola are moving in the right direction. State here what you want to see that is not being done here and now because , as far as I am concerned, it is important to know the problem before you can determine solutions are not being provided.

How, for example, do you perceive the efforts highlighted below if governance is about a responsive approach to problems? Negative for Ogun Governance? Positive? Or irrelevant? Bear this in mind before you answer:

http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/health/57509-ogun-launches-emergency-ambulance-service.html
There is absolutely no need for backhanded insults when all that was required of you was to provide evidence of the "working" ACN governors. Yes, I do read but unfortunately, I haven't been able to find much information on the achievements of this said ACN governors and now I know the reason why. It is because they are doing f.uc.kole! Nada!

So please do save me all that semantics. I really see no difference between you and beaf now. Sheesh!

What the "F" are you discussing with this Akpu village boy?
aboorinkan bayi.

The ajokutamamumi boy just derailed a very nice thread. They always try to take the shine off a worthy thread.

Seun does deserve an award because there is no other forum for Nigerians to converge and discuss such as this. The impact of this forum was felt when on the back of our outcry regarding the bad state of a particular pedestrian bridge in Lagos, the LASG rose up and took action.

Although i'm not please with the role Seun played during the election (he collected egunje from retardeen), but for his Nairaland vision, the boy should be a celebrity right now. That he isn't is because his is a faceless job unlike that of some.

The boy has done well.

Gbawe: Superb point. When has Gbenga Daniel ever bought 500 brand new transformers to improve electrification in Ogun State? When has OGD ever shown the responsiveness Amosun did in lobbying industry in Ogun State to contribute towards the purchase of the most modern APC's (armoured personnel carriers ) in Nigeria to the gushing praise of Nigeria's top policemen? How many Nigerian Governors bother to take on the role of the negligent FG when it is easier for them to just fold their arms and enjoy robust personal security while everyone else is "on their own"? How about Amosun's drive to attract investment into the State? What of his effort in healthcare to include the ambulance service that has seen Ogun State become the first in Nigeria to adopt the United Nations harmonised action on Road Safety which sets a target of reducing road accidents and casualties by 50% between 2011 and 2020? There are a lot of things many are missing because they are expecting the wrong changes.

Folks can go to the State official website to see for themselves. Amosun is a million times better than OGD and he has delivered far more than he is given credit for.

http://ogunstate.gov.ng/
You never really refer us to Lagos government's website for testimonies. Why do that for Ogun? Is that because the government's accomplishments are few and far between?

If you are in the inner caucus of the ACN, then I suggest you start intimating them on the pulse of the electorates. Yorubas are not fools o. We believe that nkan ti a ba se sile l'omo ma de ba.
PoliticsRe: 2015: Jonathan, PDP Will Fail In S-west – ACN by Desola(f): 4:55pm On Sep 17, 2012
Akanbi_edu: You guys shouldn't worry much. ACN is just consolidating its power base in states like Ogun and Oyo.

Performance/popularity is good but may not be enough to win elections against a machinery like PDP. Examples of this assertion abound; Buhari's performance against Jonathan in the last general election even in northern states,Gani Fawehinmi against Obj, Pat Utomi etc. If you put up an El-rufai (a known performer) against Bala Muhammed in FCT, I can assure you Bala most likely will win. That is the reality of current Nigeria.

So we can't even begin to compare ACN-SW to PDP-SW yet.

Another thing is when change happen, people forget easily how bad things were in the past. For example, when last did you hear news about Ibadan NURTW crises or the show of shame that was the order of the day between Gbenga Daniel and the Ogun state assembly? Things like these are taken for granted until they become a BH-like situation.
Ok, so we have what seems to be sanity in the western states and for that we are grateful but we gave them a mandate for a reason and that reason is to see progress not only in antisocial behaviour but also in infrastructure and economical growth. I haven't heard much coming from anywhere else aside Lagos. Or must I move to these places to see the work being done? If at all I am willing to forgive other states, Ogun has most definitely let me down. I am utterly disappointed!

Katsumoto: For those who are questioning the importance of Ibadan as a commercial city, please see Harvard Business Review June 2012 article - When All The World's a City where is states and I quote 'The Ibadan-Lagos-Accra urban corridor, spanning roughly 600 kilometers in Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and Ghana is the engine of West Africa's regional economy'.

See also

The 500 km Greater Ibadan Lagos Accra (GILA) corridor spans key cities across the four Western Africa countries of Benin, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo.
The GILA corridor has a combined population of more than 18 million people with Lagos accounting for more than 50 per cent of the total.
The GILA urban corridor is the engine of regional economy and contributes the major share of the Nigerian and Ghanaian combined GDP of US$127,592,000.

http://exportreachout.com/?p=158

And

Urban conurbations are another lens worth looking through. The continent’s five largest consumer markets by 2020 are likely to include Cape Town and Johannesburg (South Africa) and Lagos (Nigeria).

Additionally, urban corridors, for example, are viable markets in themselves and are often missed in straightforward country-based comparisons. So, for instance, while Nigeria and the broader West African region may look daunting in terms of market development, the Greater Ibadan-Lagos- Accra (GILA) urban corridor has a population of about 25 million consumers, and has the potential to become the real economic engine of Africa.

Ibadan is the largest city in Africa and one of the most populated cities in Nigeria... And there has been a campaign about regional integration - so why do you want them to extend it to other regions?? Must the SW always spoon feed the other regions in Nigeria??

If you want 'Lagos-Benin-Asaba-Onitsha-Enugu' - tell the SE to connect 'Onitsha-Enugu', and SS to connect 'Benin-Asaba' - to the 'Lagos-Ibadan' project..

afam4eva: I want to join the school of thought who believe that this project is not viable and a total waste of fund. is there a rule that says that this railway cannot extend to Abuja? Lagos is no doubt the economic and commercial capital of Nigeria but why Ibadan? What happens there? What population of Nigerians live there? I even heard someone saying that Ibadan is the largest city in west Africa. Is that now a criteria for citing a project? I will favour a Lagos-Ibadan-Abuja rail project or a Lagos-Benin-Asaba-Onitsha-Enugu than this one. The amount also sounds astronomical to me. smh.

I actually love that view. You should watch the movie, "Toluwanile" to appreciate the beauty of the ancient Ibadan. Most parts if not all of Britain is ancient and that is because they pride themselves on preserving history and proud of their heritage so much so that you have foreigners visiting for that purpose.

You can't allow ibos who don't have a history, those who believe they are israelites and have no written or oral trace of their history to tell you that your beautiful city is dirty. You should be the one telling them to get lost because they are B.AS.TARDS!!
