This is the backstory to this report IN MY OWN OPINION. Pres. Jonathan appreciates all Nyesom wike has done for him in his squabble with Amaechi, but Wike has a bad tag to his name as a desperate politician and usurper to the post of Governor both in Rivers and outside. Thus,Wike is not the “poster boy“ the PDP is looking for to do battle against an incumbent APC. NANS is a pro-jonathan group so why would they attack someone who is seen as one of their own? Although I'm not a PDP fan but I think this is a good political move by rivers/national PDP if their hopes of reclaiming rivers state is to be kept alive. Don't know who is more desperate wike or fintiri. |

SporaD8: APC is destroying the bridge themselves will have to cross just to spite the government of the day. After they succeed in tarnishing the image of the FGN and then chance to come to power, did they think the international community will take them serious? Let them get there first, meanwhile what's wrong in following a money trail of $9.3M in CASH? That's more than enuf to raise suspicion in any country in the world. Dint know APC had a branch in pretoria. |

Funny enuf our pastor gave an example about this sort of situation during sermon today,He said a woman came to him complaining of having no issues, after prayers he said the lord revealed to him that her husband has issues fathering a child. She didn't believe and even said her hubby had gisted her abt 2cases wher women got preggy for him and had to abort. She ended up telling her hubby and the man came to church to embarass the man of God who dint budge on what had been revealed to him. Fastforward 2yrs later the man apologised and askd for forgiveness telling her its true he's impo*,he let her go wiv no fuss or trouble. In my opinion if the man comes clean, they can adopt or get a surrogate if the woman agrees, but if the woman insists on going then I guess they shud just save themselves the stress and dissolve the union. |

A cheating wife is a faster option (if you find out quickly) as you can divorce her or get seperated,BUT a nagging wife is a “long term terminal disease“ I.e you end up suffering in pain yet you likely die before your time. Plus depending on your temperament and how “crazy“ she is on the nagging side its highly likely you become a chronic wife beater or even a murderer. (Reminds me of that guy accused of stabbing his banker wife to death multiple times. |
Family › Re: The Things Nigerian Women Do To Find Husbands(Men Beware) by Dexema(m): 7:21am On Oct 04, 2014 |
ADEBOSUN: As nice as this sounds, the proclamation of female independence and ability to self sustain, it's a very selfish way to go. Apologies to the quoted, but you'd only be setting up that child for disaster.
As much as I admire single parents that are able to go it alone after death or divorce, it's not something you should set out for.
I've observed the following
1. Parental Dependence Single mothers tend to commit their lifes to their kids and give them all they need. But as good as this sounds, once the kids are grown, they tend to put so much pressure on the kids to pay them attention; whether consciously or unconsciously. It's almost like payback time, they gave their all to this child, they expect them to reciprocate. This is just too much responsibility on that child.
2. Sense of guilt No matter what the child does, they always remind them of how they spent the better part of their youth training the child, staying away from men, not getting married because they wanted to have time for their kid rather than share the attention with a man. As good as this sounds, they fail to understand that they made their own decision, the child didn't ask for it! Dont exoect some payback for parental deeds done out of free will. You brought that child to the world, you made the decision to nurture them how you deemed fit. They don't owe you for that.
3. Retirement plan Most single parents erroneously see their kids as their retirement plans. Even though this is not peculiar to single parents alone, It's more pronounced. See, parents are meant to leave an inheritance for their children's children! You should have your retirement planned enough to cater for 3 generations. Yours, your child's and your grand children's.... minimum.
4. They hold their kids back. Single parents are either too eager to send their female children into "forced " marriages whether outrightly or systematically and restrain their male children from getting married on time. They usually are afraid that another woman will take their son away from them. Even though this is not just peculiar to single parents, its more profound with them. Your husband or wife should be that companion you seek in old age, not your child. It's too much responsibility for the child. The only reason why any child should be subjected to this is if death took away one of their parents, and not just a selfish choice one of the parents made. And even death doesn't excuse the parent from taking a hold on things...but it can be forgiven, only in death.
4. You bring up an imbalanced child.......... I think this explains itself. It take male and female to raise a child. So true! U just spoke to my situation,it sometimes bugs me but I just move on cos I can't change the past,I dint ask for it the situation just made it so. |

donpeey22: Nigerian society also look down on eligible single men, why don't such men get so desperate like single ladies would? I think the only difference that makes ladies/Women desperate is their Biological clock which keeps ticking thereby making child bearing less likely and less safe. |

Here I was wondering why odenigbo's mum called olanna a witch ( I found out from the book). The hype for that movie was really not worth it mbok. Abeg add Ugwu to the list, I enjoyed watching him, his facial expression was something else. He made the movie bearable. And to october 1st movie, Kunle Afolayon is someone I respect so much and I'm certain he will deliver I fink you have eye for details somfin wich really matters in movies especially nollywood. I fink ugwu did well in the movie, safe to say the supporting roles were the best performers. BTW what do we call genevieves appearance in the movie? Cameo? Or Deux et machine something as the critic put it? |
