Christianity EtcRe: What's Your Favourite Bible Scripture Verse? by Dextra(f): 6:39pm On Aug 05, 2012
This verse defines who I am. It keeps me on track in a world full of challenges and contradictory facts: Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
What truth could be bigger than this?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: How Did You Get Your Present Job? by Dextra(f): 12:52pm On Jul 05, 2012
Well, I saw the advert on the internet (It has always been my dream to work in this field). Though my skill wasn't what they were looking for, I applied anyway. Afterward, I placed a call to the correspondence number and reminded the admin that I sent an application. She told me they are not hiring that time but will be hiring after three months so I should check back, however, she will keep my application in the database. Three months afterwards, I called again. It was a new admin, I told her I applied earlier for the job, she went through the database and saw my application but told me to update it and send some other stuff. Voila! I was invited for an interview. I lost the position to someone else who was more qualified. I was sad. 2 weeks later, the admin called me that there's another super position available if I was interested. This time, I was the only candidate for that position. That was how I got my present job. I never met any of the people working there until the day of my interview. My advice to job seekers is simple this: Be specific in the type of job or company you want and narrow your search in that direction. Most people are looking for ANY JOB Any job is no job. If you want to get into WHO, focus on WHO, learn about them, apply and follow up your application. Show them you have the passion to work with them (I don't mean BEG), be professional. After you apply, upgrade yourself with the required skills you need to be effective. Have a goal, don't just work for money. Enjoy the job. Thanks

FamilyRe: My Marriage Life Experience! by Dextra(f): 10:43pm On May 18, 2012
Seriously, I have always been so scared of Marriage, even at 25. Most of my school mates we graduated together are getting married one after the other, it has never bugged me at all. I always think "What if I don't love him anymore after we are married, or what if he stops loving me?" I am not actually the relationship type I've been in only 1 r/s b4 until my present one which is a long distance r/s which doesn't seem like a r/s to me but helps me keep the guys away, I am a solo. It's not that I don't believe in Love, I watch a lot of romantic movies but things have not seem so perfect in real life. I've got my life all planned and laid out in front of me, I've achieved most of the goals i set out for myself few years back and getting close to marriage but to be so honest with you: I AM SO SO SCARED OF IT. Each time I think about it I get depressed but I don't want to spend my life alone.
FamilyRe: How Do Northern Women Stay Silent During Childbirth? by Dextra(f): 5:37pm On May 18, 2012
Insightful: I think it has to do with how each individual react in pains, I usually don't scream when in Labour, i groan with sounds 'hmmn' at intervals, a number of times the nurses had to crosscheck my countenance to be sure i was still in labour even though i've had to labour for over 12 hrs. They commended that i must be really strong but no, i don't really see it as being strong but rather i was conserving the little energy i had for pushing instead of tasking myself more with screaming and shouting.

labour is not an easy thing and everyone reacts differently.
You are the type of client I will love to have, when will you be delivering another baby? Your type make the work so easy. We won't have to give you 50% dextrose!
FamilyRe: How Do Northern Women Stay Silent During Childbirth? by Dextra(f): 5:27pm On May 18, 2012
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!, What a sterotype! In the Maternity where I work deep in the North the women scream! They say 'WANYO ALLAH NA!' So saying generally that Hausa/Fulani women don't cry out during labor is not true. Yes; their religion tell them to accept pain in good faith but when contraction comes, your mouth go tell you! A lot of them cry and shout and scratch and bite you till your skin bleed. I've seen lots of women in the hospitals where I worked in Abuja from different tribes who never cried so loud during labor. Individual differences! N.B The yoruba women cry out so loud, much louder than other women from other tribes but they don't bite!
