Any idea what Bosah means?
RedboneSmith:

Common amongst Anambra folks? Hmm. I haven't met a Bosah from that axis, except maybe Onitsha. The Bosahs I know are all from Delta. Asaba axis, predominantly.
Bosah is the short form of Beluolisa my side of Anambra,I.e Nnewi.
Same way we name Okwuosah and Akosah, short for Okwuolisa and Akaolisa
@RedboneSmith,you really haven't met much Igbo east side of the Niger. Stop thinking Onitsha as epitomizing Eastern Igbo

Most ofvthe people that did not vote are northerners and south westerners.

The southEast had 60% turnout.
The south south had 70% turnout and the North and South west had 40% turn out.

If people that stayed back in 2015 had voted, the gap would have been over 10mil.
The Southeast had 60% turnout?.
Dude what have you been smoking?
I get you have to post something for your pay,but try making sense while you do it.
Anambra had 2.3million registered voters, less than 330,000 voted.
Enugu had 1.8million registered, 700,000 voted.
Imo was 1.9,less than 800,000 voted.
Kano had slightly above 2.3million registered and 2million voted, equalling 40% to you of course.

Little wonder your principal made the 97% v 5% comment, maths and percentages aren't your strong suit.

In Igbo, that part reads "ekwena k'anyi kwe nye na nlanye/onwunwa", meaning do not let us fall into temptation.
The Pope just want to bring out it's full meaning,in a literal sense,in both the Italian and English languages

Yuji:

Okay I am a Catholic and tithing is actually part of the doctrine. We just don't place much emphasis on it as pentecostals do because neither the Pope nor priests own the catholic church in other words we don't run the Catholic church as a business the way the pentecostals do. Theirs is mostly one man owned churches so it is understandable why they would need the money for their upkeep and also they get married unlike popes, nuns and priests in the Catholic church who do not. So they also need the money for their family upkeep and welfare as well.
Tithe is not a doctrine of the Catholic church.Where did you get that from?.
That some young priests suddenly started copying their Pentecostal fellows did not a doctrine make it.And mind you, even they do not make it a compulsion nor add subtle threats to it like some Pentecostal pastors do.
Lastly, some bishops are already cracking down on the practice before it spreads, especially in the East.

guy you know nothing about Ibadan grin apart from cocoa house there is Femi Johnson broking house(google this!!!), there is the big building housing film house cinema, there is shop rite. there is radio Nigeria building, there is CBN, there is union bank. UBA, FCMB, zenith, a railway station, a post office, kewalram Chanrai show rooms, MDS, etc all in the same dugbe that is not modern to you grin Google each business I mentioned and put dugbe and see for yourself!!!

you don't know Ibadan!!! you only pass through grin
Oga Omo 'badan, that area is not Dugbe, haba.
They're mostly Oke Bola segueing into G.Allen, then railways.Oba Adebimpe road, where CBN,Union,Radio Nigeria, former TIB,Sketch and former Co-Operative bank buildings are found,is not Dugbe.Dugbe is not modern. Some of the old buildings may have given way,but its not yet modern by any stretch.
Don't argue this,I grew up in Oke Bola,Onajide street. The hill directly facing Broking house,in case you need help with Google
As for the old parts of Ibadan, they constitutes more than half the city despite modernization.
No need to lie just to win a dick-measuring contest.

Isn't that the job of the police and the prison service?.
A whole AGF meeting with a known fugitive from the law?.

Her ancestry is and will always be up for debate. Given how racist the medieval UK was then, some scholars argued it was virtually impossible for a black woman to become Queen.
History is always riddled with falsehood and inaccuracy.
Some even say she was Portuguese and had German ancestry, be that as it may ,we may very well never know. But the child born of Prince Harry, that we all will know and that is what history will remember, thanks to the internet that never forgets.
18th century UK wasn't medieval, and yes,George III was stubborn and mad enough to do whatever he wanted, society be dammed.
The British royal family hasn't denied that story since it first broke till this day,BTW

All European royal families had marriage connections with the Kingdom of Castile, and later the Kingdom of Denmark.Portugal is a spinoff from Leon-Castile,and had blacks, one of whom became Alfonso's mistress, giving him 3 children, one of whom was Charlotte's ancestor.
But you're right, the pedigree of any offspring of Harry and Megan will be set in stone for generations to come. Thanks to 21st century technology.

Her ancestry is still up for debate even till today. And considering the fact her reign was in the 17th century when there were no cameras, we'll never know for sure. But this one will be known, history will remember, because it will be forever on the internet for everyone to see.
Martin de Alfonso's pedigree, coupled with the de Sousa lineage are not up for debate.Queen Charlotte descended directly from both lines. She was mixed race.Even her portraits, especially by Sir Alan Ramsay, clearly show that. That George loved her and had 15 royal children by her, never changed her ancestry.
A check of the Mecklenburg-Strelitz line should clear your doubt.

The only upside to this marriage is that a black man or woman might one day rule the United Kingdom.
50 years ago, no one would have ever thought this possible .
Queen Charlotte, consort to King George III,was black/mixed race,so black men and women already have reigned in the United Kingdom, going by the One Drop rule.

Total number of votes cast that day won't be up to 600,000.

The election boycott is real and only the candidate with a good GOTV operation and dedicated supporters will win,but its going to be close.

@OP,nice analysis. PDP may spring a surprise on many yet.Especially, from the Anambra South/Central Senatorial districts.Anambra North is going to be shared by the 3parties,with PDP having an edge in Ogbaru and Onitsha South areas.

All these campaign shills sef.
There is no airport anything going on in Anambra state.
For the guy who said Nnewi to Onitsha takes 30mins,you must be high on sugar.
And yes,the Oba airport remains the ideal location to build one in Anambra state.
The election coming Saturday won't be easy.I'm not going to make any statewide prediction, but as for Nnewi where I am and voting,Willie should forget it.He may win 2 wards in Uruagu and maybe one in Nnewichi, but that's all he may hope to win this side.Nnewi is really out for blood,Ifeanyi Ubah or not

Okay.

I'm not putting all these out just to spite his name. Nigerians need to start holding their leaders, at any level, accountable for their deeds and not glorify or deify them. It's that ignorance-fueled glorification that made Lalasticala put up this thread in the first place.
Murtala's glorification was started by Obasanjo, who needed to pacify the Northern military establishment in order to maintain hold on power.
Alas, that action took a life of its own and many young Nigerians now don't know Murtala Mohammed for the bloodthirsty murderer and failure that he is.The accounts need to be set straight

It was his command, and he was in town. Enough of hiding behind one finger, please.
Don't forget the trail of massacres, through Ikaland, leading up to Asaba.Or he was not aware of those ones too?
Lest I forget, giving the order to execute prisoners of war, as he definitely did, constitute war crime under the ICC statutes and the Geneva Convention.

What have those who suffered the atrocities done to make sure everyone is reminded of the atrocities daily with monuments as done by the Jews for the Nazi holocaust or the Rwandans for the genocide?
Who are they waiting for?
Why can't they raise funds to set up monuments, lectures, symposium, research etc?
The victims include the Nigerian Army (the indiscipline heralded by Murtala), the Nigerian state itself and its institutions of administration.
It's beholding on y'all then to correct the anomaly, not just the individual victims.

Is it just the Asaba Massacre?
What about the July 29 Mutiny and the Genocide it unveiled?.
On the professional side, what about the Abagana roasting and the waste of young lives on Onitsha river crossing, due to his ineptness and incompetence as a commander?
What about destroying the once-glorious civil service administration he met and bequeathing Nigeria with the mess of a civil service we have today?.You guys cry about the civil service being corrupt and inefficient, yet you don't know that's a legacy of Murtala Mohammed.
Not to mention destroying working systems of local government administration and bringing about this failed unified system that serves nobody.

May history judge him most harshly.

Karma did serve him deservedly.

Legally, DSS doesn't exist.
What is known in law and the constitution is the State Security Service, SSS.
To amend the NSA Act, in order to change the name to DSS,requires constitutional amendment,so they just did it anyway, hoping Nigerians, as usual, wont notice or call them to right.
