Please for goodness sake when making your statement, don't ignore the PENCOM rules that were already laid down on the pattern of succession. Is that too difficult to grasp?!

The rule states that in the spirit of federal character, in an event where an incumbent did not get to finish the term (got truncated) then another from his/her region is selected as replacement. You know deep down that if positions were switched, PMB will not select any apart from a northerner to finish the tenure, meaning that he will remember to stick with the rules. Even if the tenure was FINISHED by a northerner, he will still pick another northerner as replacement.

PMB clearly broke the rule on this. And I will not wish him good luck because he is clearly making more enemies for his Kith and kin by the day. People will be waiting for 'em all post-2023.

@The bolded.

I believe that in this case, because there was no northerner with the needed qualification vying for that position and also the AfDB international community does not play nepotism like PMB does, he had no choice but to present the South East candidature. Besides, her exit will create the much needed void that a northern replacement (with probably no qualifications for PENCOM positions) will occupy, something that has clearly played out in your very eyes with this appointment.

Undoubtedly, most South Easterners supported that illegality by GEJ and will even insult anyone who tries to call out GEJ for those iregularities.

I just wish we could have a president with the desirable qualities of non-nepotism, pan Nigeria and pan African attitude, activism and efficient side of ex-president OBJ minus the corrupt side of him. Although we can still manage a small tint of the corrupt side of him since we know only 1 percent of politicians are non-corrupt but that person should have the efficiency, activism and non-nepotism.
pencom rules is inferior to the constitution that empowers Buhari to make appointments,.....
you hypocrite, someone pointed out to you that the woman has been recommended by the same buhari for appointment at AFDB and your response was that there were no qualified northerner, how naive and stupid you sound.

Who is the"anonymous" lawyer being quoted by The Nation newspaper?? This is why we are in this mess! This is an obvious case of rabid nepotism. You will expect a sensible newspaper house owned by a so-called Southerner to fiercely criticize this act of nepotism but Tinubus newspaper is already providing Buhari and his cohorts with a soft landing, simply because it's the igbos that are once again at the receiving end! Some days in the future it will be the turn of the SW to be at the receiving end, the igbos of course will be left with little alternative other than to play the ostrich! proeast:
It is no more news worthy to point out that before the civil war that Igbo out of their capacity for honesty, to work hard, to produce, to innovate, to manage, create and persevere were able to penetrate all facets of Nigerian endeavor, when the British used merit as a yard stick. It is an irrefragable fact that even Yoruba would not dare challenge that fact, if not, what started the Yoruba hate, envy and jealousy against the Ibo in the first place, Yoruba and Hausa claimed that Ibo was dominating everything in the country but what they will not acknowledge publicly was the fact that the British were making the decisions about who to hire by their own standard and not by Igbo standard and that Igbo was good at what they did and better than them. The Yoruba and Hausa wanted not only equal opportunity they also wanted equal outcome regardless of effort and everyone knows that that is impossible.

There is one very important fact in my analysis that I want everyone to get, and that is that before the civil war, Nigeria as a nation did not have an economy of its own. Let me say it again, that Nigeria as a nation before the British/Biafran civil war did not have an economy of its own. I emphasized that point in other to say that whatever seemed like Nigerian economy were British owned. Put differently, if you excluded few of the regional cooperatives and some joint ventures businesses which were mostly British engineered to make buying raw materials easy for the British, every other aspect of the economy were owned majorly by the British, even the military, given the fact that almost every military supply came from Britain. It is then safe to say that British investment in Nigeria amounted to a great totality of Nigerian economy or that Nigerian economy was at that time synonymous to the total investment of the British....
which merit? its not merit but because the ibos were mostly servants and messengers to the British they could speak passable pidgin english thats why the british employed them to fill administrative and public service vacancies which is no big deal.....lots of people are trooping to asia and eastern europe to teach english language are you saying its competence thats driving that? No its demand and supply thats why when the Northern elites led by Ahmadu bello felt they have people to fill those vacancies, the only reasonable thing to do is to fill them with indegenes and excuse the ibos.....thsi of course did not go down well with the ibos thats why they were reported to be jubilating the death of Ahmadu Bello in the hands of young ibo soldiers who had the backing of the igbo elites in the east, an action that fuelled public anger against the ibos in the north leading to the civil war .......im sure you will say its Awolowo that made Zik to be fighting for the control of western Nigeria, Typical of the greedy ibo man, your Political leaders want to control the western and eastern regions and when that failed they instigated their young ones in the army to plan a coup......they got trashed both ways..................i really understand the anger of the young ibo, but your enemy are your leaders and not leaders of other tribes.........it can really be painful being a member of a tribe whose name is so blemished ,no one trusts and worthless politically, i mean Buhari has proved that anyone can become president without ibo votes . There is no doubt that most people, particularly those that do not have either basic or international economics background are overwhelmed by the subject of INDIGENIZATION OF FOREIGN COMPANIES IN NIGERIA because of their inability to understand the economics of it and the efficacies to make the necessary connections and relate it to the present economic doldrums, some simply brush it aside or worse, simple minimize its far reaching implications particularly on the Igbo. In so doing, majority of us dabble into analysis of how terrible Igbo has managed their affairs since after the civil war, while leaving out a huge chunk of the elements that need to be factored into their analysis. The unspeakable effect of the policy of indigenization on the Nigerians was wicked and dastardly. The economic damage on the Igbo is impossible to calculate. The psychological toll on the Igbo is still reverberating amongst the Igbo today and creating identity crisis.

Some folks will argue that we should drop the subject because it happened forty years ago, which is equivalent to saying that because slavery, Jim Crow and the holocaust happened years ago, and for that reason, they have no relevance in today’s analysis. How can any credible analysis of American history not include slavery and its implications, or how can any Jewish history not include the Holocaust and its implications and effects, but that is what some folks want us to do, to avoid or forget one of the most devastating economic policies that changed the economic landmark of Nigeria, second to the genocide of more than three million Igbo committed by the same man, Awo, and still arrive at any meaningful analysis. I believe that the incredulity that any ethnic group is capable of visiting such devastation on another is still an obstacle that the subject is struggling against and must overcome. It is not that most people do not know what happened, it is simply that they do not want to believe that it happened because it is mind-bending. I also believe that if we do not tell the story over and over, the Yorubas will not tell and neither will the Hausa tell it, as a matter of fact they always wish that it will go away. So whether they like it or not, we must continue to broadcast what happened until people start to understand the effect of the policy not only on the Igbo but on the nation as a whole. Suffice to say that after Awo and the Yoruba succeeded in executing the indigenization decree and became overnight millionaires, many Igbo packed their bags and left Lagos to the East –ala Igbo, where they shortly died out of heart break because some of them also suffered the deprivation of their properties due to Abandon Property Policy in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
since we are talking history , the Genocide was started by young Igbo soldiers with the full backing of the igbo elites.......the january 1967 coup is the greatest genocide and the effects is what this your epistle is all about..........my people say FIRST TO DO NO DEY PAIN.........instead of you young Igbo generation to learn from the past you are bent on repeating the same mistake.....since 2015 your behaviour is akin to that first coup where ugbos seek to bring down the leaders of other tribes with the hope that it will confer on them undue advantage but which eventually blew in their faces and led to the loss of millions of igbo lives .
LEARN FROM HISTORY since you are so keen on rewriting history

So will the buses move without fuel? Will the transport fare not be based on the fuel prices? Are Nigerians complaining about shortage of vehicles? Will the buses also address other uses of fuel like generators in this era of almost zero power supply from phcn?

I don't understand how a patient will be complaining of stomach-ache and the doctor will be planning to treat skin rashes. huh
mass transit buses will lessen the effect of petrol price increase on POOR MASSES......they will be cheaper with only marginal increase from the current rates, hence POOR MASSES will not feel the effects much.....the fuel subsidy ONLY FAVOURS THE RICH / AVERAGE Folks who could afford a car and fuel it......if you could afford to fuel a car, go for it , if not go with public transport which is cheaper anyway......

I'm not a Fulani man nor from the core north but i believe that the narratives of the Igbos about the Fulanis are mischievous and politically sensational.

Why is it that the so much atrocities of the fulanis were only seen and felt by the Igbos? Is it that they have different sight from others? Not at all. Even the southern kaduna man that has seen the worst of the fulanis doesn't hate them like the far away Igbo man.

To me i see both the Igbos and fulanis as same coin of different face. The Igbos are angry cus they wish they're the ones in power and doing the same thing a Fulani man is doing, and because they've seen that the system will not allow them to displace the Fulani man. He now decide to go to the street to seek sympathy and to create a monster off the Fulani man.

Again, what the Igbos failed to understand is that the Bible itself says that ".....it is what comes out of a person that defies him". This implies that what you say has tendencies to last longer in people's memories than an occasional actions.
we have been documenting their erratic behavior since 2015, even GEJ has moved on but the Igbos refused to...........we await them in 2023, Buhari hs shown that anybody can become president without the vote of the ibos thus rendering them useless politically, even PDP their darling Party knows this and thats why PDP can never give them the party presidential ticket

And some stupid people here will believe this rubbish.
whether you believe it or not those who got the money believe it and they are mighty grateful, it might not be have reached much people considering the state population but it something to those that got it.......besides aren't yall quick to remind us that the standard of living in the east is the best in Nigeria? that means less poor people......we also disdainfully regard northerners as poor illiterates ......means more poor people, so naturally schemes like this to tackle poverty will tilt more to the north and not because a northerner is in government, it will be the same if a southerner were to be in government.

I don't know where you all are digging all these concocted stories you all are posting just to suit your narrative about the government and fan the growing conspiracy theories about the Nigerian military.

If you think that Gana is a hero to the TIV nation, bro? Seriously?
Gana is a political thug gone rogue and he has been ravaging communities in the TIV and Taraba area and has been bountied severally by the very State government but has always been "elusive".

Look, Benue has long been facing intercommunal clashes right from time and some communities seek the help of the Fulani herders to fight one another and this has led to the group pouncing on that opportunity to do all what not.

Ask any reliable person from Benue about intercommunal clashes; they are mostly underreported, with the media's attention fully on Fulani killings.

Let's condemn killings of every sort but never try to attach political sentiments and spread half-truths — especially about people who fight to keep you alive.
I thought the Benue state governor has been saying its fulani people killing his people, is Gana a fulani man? just to win a second term he latched on to the narrative that its fulanis that are killing in benue but we now know better

The same people are now granting amnesty to militants........but will be quick to condemn FG for granting amnesty to repentant boko haram militants,

i watched Ortom on channels TV and his lame explanation and cant help but wonder if this man knows what he is doing at all

Buharis incompetence is a childs play compared to the incompetence of PDP governors and its rather unfortunate they are doing a very bad job at opposition to the government.
