Hi guys, please I am a bit rusty with this process but my brother is trying to create a profile for credential assessment with IQAS but the site says the Nigerian Law School is not a recognized institution. I believe they used to issue Masters verdict for the LLB before, has that changed? or did we do something wrong? Your directions would be highly appreciated
Was it law school that issued the LLB OR a university? Use the name of the school not NLS

Good day everyone. My wife has a BSc degree in Computer science and a BCS level 4 certificate in IT. For WES evaluation, is it possible to evaluate both the bachelor's degree and the certificate as "two or more degrees" or we should evaluate her University degree alone?

If it is possible to evaluate both qualifications, how do we go about it? Do we add both qualifications in a single WES application. Any form of advice will be appreciated. Thanks
Yes both are equivalent to two or more certificates. You’ll include both under one wes application/profile
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Dimple10: 2:58pm On Jun 13, 2022
Yes it will suffice, no need for name change unless she wants to. as long as there is evidence of divorce and marriage, all is well .
Dennyjuff:
Guys please i have a question …
When two divorcees get married and they both have children from former marriages how can they go about the PR process.
The woman has done her WES and ielts and everything and it’s in her former husband’s name …
Her surname is like jay-paul … With Jay being her own father’s name and Paul being the former husband’s name.
Now she’s about to get married to a DIVORCEE… can the marriage certificate suffice? because she cannot do a change of name now seeing that her WES and IELTS and TEF is in the Jay-paul name… can she carry on with that name even though now married to someone else and they intend to do PR together..
They have 5 kids between them… 3 from the man in his previous marriage and 2 from her from her previous marriage …
The lady was already processing her relocation… she has TEF and WES and IELTS
The intend to get married in two months time and enter the pool together as a family of 7.
My question is - Will the marriage certificate suffice since she cannot change her name again…
Both of them will submit divorce papers and custody papers as well..

I think if you take time to re-read you’ll see where you’re mixing things up. Ednut has gotten ppr and landed. Gracious and myself have crossed this hurdle and awaiting ppr. So atleast read the advise given, go back and cross check with ircc website and if after everything you’re not convinced still, then carry on as you please.

You do not need to input spouse work history in the WE section, only in personal history. You can include spouse education +ECA+IELTS if claiming points for it. You only include work experience that you the applicant are claiming points/gotten reference letter for in the WE section. All other WE not claimed can go in personal history. Same applies for education. If you do eca for masters only, upload eca, msc and ielts in the provided box. All other studies go in personal history. Don’t stress or confuse yourself or VO.

For doubt clearing purpose, see here for reading material https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/applications-received-on-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html#s03

Pateda26:
In the checklist for education document. It's stated that you MUST PROVIDE proof for all post secondary education. Examples of education include any diploma or degrees. I provided proof for my first degree and other post graduate degrees. Even though I only have ECA for my highest degree.

If you read page 1 very well, one is advised to even upload copy of ECA and IELTS together with all the post secondary school documents.

For this that their FSW AOR is 2019 & 2020. For the issue of POF, how were you able to do it. Considering the fact that you waited for almost 2years or more than that after getting an ITA. Did you leave the POF untouched or how did you do it? Just curious
What MrPein and gracious said.

I’ll also add that some people had no choice but to touch POF due to family/health emergencies. But almost everyone i knew put it back before being asked and explained with a convincing LOE. (Do not do this unless life and death situation).

Thank you very much for your answer.

What if it is a case of separation, will he have to provide for the entire family of 4? Or just himself and the children.
I THINK same applies if it’s a legal separation (if there’s such a thing). Documentation would be submitted aa proof.

@ednut and others can pls advise if this is wrong
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Dimple10: 10:09am On Jun 10, 2022
i know that he will have to provide POF for the children whether accompanying or not.

Since they're divorced i don't think he would need to show for the spouse.
Ehido:
Good Morning all,

A very big thanks for all your selfless service on this thread.

I have a friend with a situation concerning POF.

He is separated/divorced from his wife and she lives in the USA with their two children. The question is, should he consider the whole family for POF? Or just himself? Or himself and the two children who are already in the USA thus will not be accompanying him to Canada.

PanicButton:
Thanks for the check up. Hmmm small news o. So, finally my medicals was passed after doing a second one. I am not sure which was passed actually; the upfront I did in January, or the one I did based on their request. Secondly, I have been calling IRCC weekly for the past three weeks, and each time I call, I am told security is in progress. Every other remains passed save for security (4 weeks and counting) which is taking longer than anticipated. I also got to know that my file has been moved from Montreal to Edmonton after my wife's BIL was updated - probably to finalize who knows, but I wish they could stop moving this file around and just finalize. It is getting to 7 months after my first ppr and six months after spousal addition and I am still waiting. It is so tiring and frustrating, but I am glad there has been a lot of progress on the application since then. Fingers crossed you'd be sorted soon as well. All the best to us.
Hmmm!! E go better. All of this will be worth it in the end.

Judicial case of someone who didn't add his spouse to his application post COPR; it may seem like a small error but it's actually a big deal

https://decisions.fct-cf.gc.ca/fc-cf/decisions/en/item/521543/index.do?q=express+entry

[2] The Applicant is a 34-year-old citizen of Pakistan. He applied for permanent residence as a skilled worker under the Express Entry Program from Pakistan in March 2017. The application was approved on October 2, 2018 and the Applicant’s visa was issued.

[3] On December 24, 2018, the Applicant married but mistakenly did not update or inform the visa office of this change in his family circumstances.

[4] On January 20, 2019, the Applicant landed at Pearson International Airport. Upon arrival, he was asked by CBSA if anything had changed in his family situation. He immediately and readily told officials he was married.

[5] Therefore, he was not landed because subsection 51(b) of the Regulations requires permanent resident visa holders to demonstrate at the time of their examination for permanent residence that they and all of their dependants, whether accompanying or not, are admissible to Canada. The Applicant was permitted to enter Canada but his passport was seized. His visa and permanent resident status were cancelled soon after.

[6] He enlisted the help of his MP, Hon. Judy Sgro. Soon after, IRCC reopened his file. He was able to add his wife who was examined and found compliant.

[7] By that time the Applicant expected he would have his visa and permanent resident status restored. It appears IRCC was of the same mind.

[8] He thought his mistake in not telling IRCC of his marriage until he arrived in Canada was forgiven.

[9] He was mistaken. I say this because CBSA – which is in charge of enforcing IRPA – instituted proceedings against him and issued a Report under section 44 on February 7, 2019, concerning subsection 41(a), a proceeding which could, and eventually did result in an inadmissibility finding against him by the Immigration Division [ID], although as noted below, not without misgivings by the ID Member.

best to send your passport elsewhere right now until this issue is resolved, it doesn't seem like a good idea to send documents there.

it is not an issue as long as it is verifiable don't create panic for someone that has not even started.

search the name of the school online, it might be an issue if they have no online presence and you are paid by cash

IELTS must be valid as at submission. So until you get AOR, your IELTS must be valid.

My advise, wait till like 3months to expiry and redo if you've not gotten ITA or submitted

Good afternoon everyone.

Please I did my IELTS on December 5th, 2020; Band 8. Result came out on December 18th, 2020 and I know it should expire December 2022 but I got into the pool since January 2022.
Please I will like to ask if getting into the pool stops IELTS time from running or it is still bound to expire December 2022, not minding that I’m already in the pool.

use IQAS, their evaluation is more favourable (masters/professional degree)meaning more points.
Anavamii:
Hello everyone,
I just remembered I did WES evaluation last year but for a US school. My LLb was evaluated as bachelors degree but my law school was evaluated as a one year professional degree. I just messaged them to see if I can transfer to Canada. I would like to ask can I eventually combine the two as 2 degrees? Or I should just start all over with IQAS?
Thank you.

Please I need advice, I am currently preparing my documents to enter the pool, my husband is already in the pool we think it's better I become the PA becos of my age and I have a master's degree, but I have questions regarding my work experience, I was in teaching for about 3yrs during and after my service before I got my current job which I'm just 4months into, I can get a reference letter from my previous school but I'm worried because it's not a very big school and I'm not sure if they have a website or online presence, but with my current job I have no worries, please what how best can I go about this.
As long as your reference is in IRCC format, minimum of one year continuous experience and it’s verifiable, no need to worry about online presence and website.
