foladara777:Extermination with their bare hands or with arms from their brothers in Chad and Niger Republic? If the war your most Shophischicated tribe is abating starts, and your source of money - crude oil - is blocked, you shall fight your war with bare hands. You people with your Abokiii masters need to stop living in the era of the last civil war. Oyibo whom you depend on to supply you or even fight for you to retain a failed country had since seen your murderous inclination all over the place in your one Nigeria. |
foladara777:Collection of revenues from all over Nigeria and share to states is a typical unitary government format. Or does your Nigeria central government in Abuja no longer collects revenues from all over the country and then share to the states and local government councils? Do you even understand the difference between unitary and federal system of governance? Sure you don't. Federal government as used in Nigeria is a bogus phrase. It was devised by those who restructured Nigeria to suit their region to deceive nit wits like you. |
oweman:You read that former northern region now draws undue large number of political representatives from the undue large number of states created in northern Nigeria by soldiers from northern Nigeria through unjust use of land mass as criterion. You now ask me to tell Igbo representatives in the National Assembly to table my demand for political restructuring. Who is now the FOOLISH between you and me? You have been struggling to survive from attacks by a small band of militants in the Niger delta. Imagine how you can be driven to the Sahara desert if the Igbo joins the fray anytime your thick handedness causes another civil war in Nigeria. Or you foolishly believe that Oyibo shall join your Jihadist forces this time to fight to retain one Nigeria for you to continue to enjoy at the expense of others. |
foladara777:Why continue to sound like a broken gong? What is federal about Nigeria? Nigeria is a country governed through unitary system in guise of federalism. Ironsi introduced a mild form of unitary government system which still preserved the regions and made the regions use what were in their areas to develop their areas and pay taxes to the central government in Lagos. But northern Nigeria soldiers k illed Ironsi in protest partly for that, but later divided Nigeria into 36 states and Abuja, proliferated undue large number of states in the north through unjust use of land mass as criterion; and through the undue large number of political representation drawn from these northern states, northern Nigeria dictates to rest of Nigeria, as well as take to the north undue large share of federal allocations. Gradually, from 1967 to 1999, northern military dictators propped up the worst form of over-centralized unitary government system which we have today, and which all the regions of the old south of Nigeria have been protesting to change. Unlike the US, Nigeria is not run on a true federal structure. If the existing political structure and governance system are not changed democratically soon, Nigeria must have to dissolve. |
Let me throw a challenge to Nairalanders: Can anybody show any development project started and completed by Buhari government since May 29, 2015? .At least we are seeing this Fayose's own with korokoro eyes. |
Abike Dabiri: give her a chance, she is most likely to vote for independence of Biafra from Nigeria. Who loves Nigeria, except Arewa people? Even the people of the Southwest, but for expectations that Osinba.. may possibly succeed Buhari, most of the Southwest don't like one Nigeria. Only hurdles in the Southwest are those there who look forward to Sokoto Caliphate for directions; they are the ones who love one Nigeria. |
DaniDani:Wallahi. No Nigerian leader more than Muhammadu Buhari ate the future of Nigerians, beginning in 1983 when Buhari assumed position of HoS following his boys' coup that sacked democracy. In 1984, Buhari told Nigeria's youths that they are the future leaders of Nigeria. Thirty two years on, Buhari has remained at various leadership positions of Nigeria - till who knows when? Bad omen: this whale must have died in protest against Buhari's continued eating of the future of Nigeria's youths, since the youths aren't enlightened enough to ask simple question like: "how come a man like Buhari won Nigeria's presidential election in the midst of tens of thousands of younger and better educated, better qualified presidential materials in Nigeria? |
undecidedYoruba:But Tinubu will not stop boasting that he travelled to Daura from Lagos to invite Buhari to contest the last presidential election in Nigeria. Tinubu must have considered Buhari's million Almajiri votes, if not, how did Tinubu see a man like Buhari to make a good president in the 21st Century, in the midst of thousands of better presidential materials in Nigeria? Now, we are saddled with a president largely chosen by Almajiri votes. |
Lol. Until Tinubu and Co.from the southwest go for another NADECO, we shall not begin to take them serious. Were they asleep before the beginning of the campaign for presidency in 2014 when every Fulani personality was visiting Yoruba land for serious Owambe parties, thus creating the false impression that Fulani and Yoruba are like roasted yam and Palm oil? Fulani fooled them. Got their support for return of power to north. Case closed. |
blueto:They hailed up an untrained driver for a rickety taxi, now they give food aid push aid to the driver and the taxi. Lol. Something is wrong with a 100 years country that has gained up to $1 trillion from oil, but can't provide electricity and pipes borne water to its population Food aid and push push alone cannot sustain the rickety taxi. Nigeria can survive if restructured to true and fiscal federalism Cannot survive without restructuring - even with all the food aid. |
iSlayer2:Ha ha ha, Okowa denies being Igbo. But his name is Ifeanyi. This man made too much unneeded noise against Biafra agitators, one wondered if he is the only governor in the South. Okowa noise just because he wanted to please the Buhari-led northern political class to preserve his gubernatorial chair. May he survive please. |
Ancestors are angry. When a man denies his ancestry because of transient political office he holds under one Nigeria commandeered by Hausa/Fulani. The fear of Hausa/Fulani removing him from office made this governor deny his links with east of Nigeria. |
Daniel1990:Bunkum. OBJ is an old cargo. He writes to attract attention. If not for Atiku's last minute efforts, OBJ was about to be impeached by Arewa in 2006 or so. Arewa fetched OBJ from prison in 1988, dusted him up to become president under PDP. After using PDP, OBJ destroyed the party. What good advice can man like OBJ have for a sitting president other than raise catastrophic points? OBJ for now is dancing around Buhari to evade Buhari's probe machine. |
OBJ meets Buhari secretely for the umpteenth time since piloting Buhari and APC to Aso Rock. against his own political party that he used to become president of Nigeria. OBJ seems to believe that Nigeria is something to be piloted through conspiracy of a few persons You loss. OBJ you loss with your conspiracy approach to issues of Nigeria. This is the 21st Century. The more OBJ meets secretly with Buhari, the more Nigeria moves toward the rock. OBJ wanted to impose a presidential candidate upon his party in 2014; but younger party members rejected that. OBJ then went out to destroy the party thereby placing his name as an African mugu who destroyed the political party through which he climbed to become president, and brought unprecedented hardship to his country people. Ethnic bigotry also made OBJ and his ilk abandon his party. They couldn't stand Igboid people with Jonathan in Aso Rock. |
Olizey:You talk like Sophisticated Yoruba. That's how they argue to divide southsouth from southeast. It's most naive your assertion that southeast is looking to include Southsouth in Biafra because of crude oil. That's fallacious and most ridiculous. The richest countries on earth today do not have crude oil. Or are you Itshekiri/Yoruba? Take this proverb if you are truly from the southsouth: You cannot break the sticks of a broom when they are a bunch of broom; but it is easiest for the broomsticks to be broken one after the other when the broomsticks are not in a bunch. Let me explain the proverb: southsouth and southeast struggling for different objectives on different platforms, both regions shall be easily neutralized by rest of Nigeria. |
iSlayer2:Today again, the Asari Dokubors who have fought Nigeria and got tired now tell the Southsouth people the reality about Biafra. But some inexperienced ones carry guns about in the creeks thinking and talking about Niger delta Republic. But common sense suggests that you can't get Nigerdelta Republic in isolation of Biafra. Common sense tells that it is easiest to get Nigerdelta Republic from Biafra after Southsouth people have teamed up with southeast people to get Biafra. |
onward4life:Around most of the Southwest have taken to Arab religion, thus most of the Southwest now share same political aspirations with northern Nigeria. So your dream of SW, SE and SS coming together for any political pursuit is a pipe dream. During the OBJ National Political Conference, the Southwest region representatives allied with the northern region representatives to deny increase in derivation asked for by oil producing areas and supported by the southeast. The Conference ended because of this division as the South south delegates walked out of the conference followed by southeast representatives. Take away any idea of Southwest region forming alliance with the SE and SS. In fact, Southwest region is the most militant against the various aspirations of the old eastern region. |
HopeAtHand:So people like you still exist in the south south? If people like you are in majority in the south south, you and your offspring shall be in the trenches forever fighting domination by Hausa/Fulani with their Yoruba collaborators COMMON SENSE REQUIRED,: You don't like the Igbo. But you must ally with the Igbo to get Biafra first, after which it is most easy for you to get back your environment, get your oil and oil blocks back, get Nigerdelta Republic, or even Ijaw, Ogoni, Efik or above all, Ikwerre Republic from Biafra. This is COMMON SENSE. But the above are not realistic when you form all sorts of liberation strike forces in the Niger delta to fight Nigeria as you shun Igbo and Biafra. |
It's common sense: it's easiest for the minority groups in the old eastern region to get whatever they want, including independence, from a Biafra country; but most difficult, if not impossible, for the minority groups in the old eastern region to get anything from very huge and mixed Nigeria. Those Southsouth leaders who journeyed to Kaduna to Hassan Katsina in 1967 to plead that Rivers and Cross River States be carved out from Biafra, they couldn't see beyond the nose. |
Tanko Yakassi threw the bombshell recently. He said when Biafra was declared, some leaders of the minority groups in the old eastern region journeyed to Kaduna and pleaded with then northern region governor, Hassan Katsina, to influence Gowon to carve out the minority groups from Biafra. Shortly after that, Rivers and Cross River States were created by Gowon. Today, it's like those Southsouth leaders shot themselves and their unborn generations in the spinal cord. Biafra defeated by their sabotage, the Hassan Katsinas of northern Nigeria occupied billions of dollars worth oil blocks in the south and grudgingly agreed to give them 13% from derivation. Adieu Ken Saro. |
HopeAtHand:Ijaw is fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria but the population may not be up to 15 million. |
topsyking:No. Lol. Wondering why You are most upvoted even if not for Ignorance full plenty for here. Is nigerdelta an ethnic group? Nearly 1/3 of Nigerdelta is Igbo. Igbo is the largest ethnic group in Nigeria. Take this to Emefiele in CBN. |
Fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria is Ijaw. Igbo is the largest ethnic group in Nigeria. |
babajero:Lol One man fight against the Council. Reminds one of 1983-1985. For Buhari: Yesterday it was against the Legislature. Today it is against the Judiciary. Tomorrow will be resumption of fight against political opponents .. all with false use of fight against corruption to implement a hidden agenda. And the one man pretending that he is fighting corruption is who? The man once accused of hyper corruption when he was in office as Petroleum Ministry boss but the accusation went no further because of obvious reasons; thereafter, the one man contested three most expensive presidential elections in fourteen years founded by who? One man who said Sani Abacha was not corrupt. Like the fantastic tales of 'I shall make $1=N1 if you vote me' during the last presidential election campaign, gullible ones are taking Buhari's attacks on the Judiciary and Legislature on its face value : fight against corruption. |
As vulnerable sets of Nigerians get deceived with the mantra of fighting corruption by Buhari government, Buhari himself has refused to do what can eradicate corrupt practices in Nigeria. Corrupt practices in Nigeria are encouraged by the the Abuja strong, over-centralized government system where a few persons stay in Abuja, collect revenues from all over the country, share smaller proportion of the revenues to the states and local governments; the players in government remain distanced from the governed, no accountability to the governed. This system has failed Nigeria, it creates indolent citizens who wait for next federal allocations day. But because soldiers from Buhari clan restructured Nigeria politically and proliferated undue large number of states and local government councils in the north through unjust use of land mass as criterion, and the Buhari clan smiles home from Abuja every federal allocations day, Buhari clan is fighting tooth and nail to retain this failed governance system. Any other clan that kicks against the system sees soldiers deployed to kill and silence the clan. Buhari knows well that his anti corruption fight mantra is most deceptive. No Nigerian was born to become corrupt. Corruption in Nigeria is from the bad governance system which Buhari and his clan have refused all attempts to restructure. |
NgeneUkwenu:Kwi kwi kwi kwi .. continue your tweets for absolute dictatorship for Nigeria under Muhammadu Buhari. Unless you are a descendant of Othman Dan Fodio who boasted that Nigeria from the Sahel to the Atlantic coast, must be made an estate of his clan, that's how you are unable to see the bigger plot behind Buhari clan's endless attacks on the Judicial and the legislative arms of Nigeria's government of today. The clan hides behind fight against corruption to weaken the Judiciary and Legislature, as well as weaken opposition. Didn't Buhari himself say that he wouldn't rest until Islamic Sharia Criminal codes are employed in all of Nigeria? Is this not the first time in Nigeria's history that attempts are being made to insert use of Islamic Sharia Criminal codes into the country's constitution? What's all the drive by Buhari and his clan to use executive arm of government to distribute Fulani cattle grazing fields to all of Nigeria, despite the refusals by many states in the country? The grand plot by descendants of Othman Dan Fodio through Buhari now is: intimidate the Judiciary and the Legislature so that little or no obstacles shall be left on the road toward finally making Nigeria an estate of the Descendants of Othman Dan Fodio. The process was started by military dictators loyal to the descendants of Othman Dan Fodio through creating undue large number of states and consequent political representation constituencies in northern Nigeria by foul use of land mass as criterion. That skewed political structure is why a man like Buhari would be president in the midst of thousands of younger and better educated and better qualified presidential materials in Nigeria. What is playing out in Nigeria is a REVOLUTION by descendants of Othman Dan Fodio to stamp their authority all over Nigeria through democratic means. |
Fulani wants to take over Nigeria from the Sahel to the Atlantic Ocean - as promised by Othman Dan Fodio. The Judiciary is being coerced to hand the instruments of the states to Fulani-controlled APC; guess why Court Judges are being harassed, treated with scorn in guise of anti-corruption fight by the Secret Police of Fulani president Buhari. The Legislature has been in trial. What a mockery for democracy. |
HungerBAD:A most foolish way to fight corruption. Fight corruption by Decentralizing political and economic powers to the regions or states so that every region or state shall use what it has to develop its people and pay tax to a tiny central government - thus leaders be closest and accountable to the people. Fight Nigeria's corruption by making northern Nigeria agree to Political restructuring of Nigeria, to such that Abuja huge central govt shall no more be the rent-seeking, largess-giving group of Nigerians who are far removed from the electorate, thus are not accountable to the electorate - as they are now. If you people continue to refuse to tell yourselves the truth about causes of corruption in Nigeria, because you want northern Nigeria led by Fulani that propagates your Islam to continue to dictate the tunes in Nigeria, then forget about Nigeria growing to nationhood and prosperity. |
The huge crowds of civilian population that thronged the streets to welcome Boko Haram fighters everytime they captured an area in northern Nigeria: it showed the huge welcome Boko Haram fighters and their objectives of a territory or country to be governed through Islamic sharia criminal codes were well received by the local northern Nigeria population. |
If true, at one point the drones may have to kill most of the people in far northern Nigeria, because Boko Haram says that it is fighting for a country to be ruled through Islamic sharia criminal codes; while 12 northern Nigeria states in the far northern Nigeria had since adopted Islamic sharia criminal codes. The difference in objectives between Boko Haram and the people in the predominantly Muslim northern Nigeria is like the difference between six and half-a-dozen. |
HungerBAD:Lol. The fathers, grandparents and possibly great grandparents of these soldiers have fought wars and killed black Africans in Nigeria to sustain an unsustainable one Nigeria. Boko people want a country to be governed through Islamic sharia criminal codes. People in northern Nigeria had since adopted Islamic sharia criminal codes. People in the south where you referred to as MEND and NDA are tired of one Nigeria, so are their eastern neighbours who are struggling to exit one Nigeria. So who are the soldiers in picure fighting for? |
victorvezx:And you expect progress in Nigeria with Biafra agitation raging? Ignorance is a bliss. |
