The last time I checked the igbo have been well and adequately represented in all governments since the amalgamation of this land, they provided our first president, they had military governors during the times of obj, babangida, Abacha, Abubaka some of whom controlled states outside SE. They have their senators in ABJ sharing in the dividends of a corrupt nation, choppin 20million a month, they have ministers who are inefficient and neglectful of their duties , they have governors who are looting the treasury and LG chairmen who are ineffective. So answer me this what do they have that other parts of the country do not have be it positive or negative. The igbo brethren better come to understand that we are all being duped by leaders who don't see igbo , hausa or Yoruba but willing ignorant fools , ready to help. God bless Nigeria
Gbam! Tinapa failure- blame the northerners Second niger bridge- blame the northers the ports in onistha or thereabouts- Blame the Northerners and the yorubas Why isnt the rail working in the east- blame the northerner Why arent international airlines flying into igbo land- those mallams are not upgrading eastern airports in fact the igbo senators and reps are hand picked by the northerners thats why they are corrupt, the real igbos have been left out of the race its bloody tedious! |
Kobojunkie:true, in fact 2 years ago i saw pipes near gutters with water coming out in different areas of lagos meaning there were once well layed water pipes around estates and housing developments. now i just cant see what these departments spend money on |
congrats After staying few months here I must admit that Nigeria is very lovely place to stay. When I was in Nigeria there is no weekend that will pass without you having one occasion to attend. Those things make life more enjoyable, but you can never see those things here.Everywhere can be lovely especially when you have a job, adequate security, and are with friends and family- and once you find your way around the nigerian community; |
do water corporations really provide water to residents or they are mainly for rural communities- boreholes I have always wondered what minister of water resources and commissioner of water blah blah do considering most people have their own water system done by themselves |
As strong as America is, the first thing they do in crisis situation is, evacuate their citizens. Uwazuruike’s courage must therefore, be flexed with wisdom. Wisdom demands that in times of uncertainty, the wise pull back, watch, organise and react. Dead people can’t.> |
Just say this write up I thought would be relevant BY : Onyebuchi Onyegbule I don’t know how old Uwazuruike, the MASSOB leader was in 1966. If he were as old, he wouldn’t have advised Igbos living in the North to stay on amid death and its real threat. Let him also know that he’ll take responsibility for the fate of that call. Way back in 1966, I went to the railway station to welcome my aunt and saw a picture that can’t quit my memory. The goods-trains from the north conveyed heaps of human bodies, not groundnut bags: cut-off heads, heaps of them filling the endless wagons to the brim; limbs, pregnant women having their pregnancies ripped open, the foetus yet unborn stabbed in innocence, the head of its father stuffed into the womb of its slaughtered mother with swam of flies following from the north to the east. You may shrug but I saw it and it’s reemerging. There and then, I made up my mind to join the Biafran military. When people say Ojukwu is a hero, it’s that. He said no to pogrom, genocide and the degradation of humanity. He stood barehands, fought government-backed life-wasters and made his mark which remains indelible. Though Easterners wanted to stay in the north, the hate-environment showed their resilience the redline. In the end, those who left late and managed to get to Markurdi, trekked to Enugu through bush-paths. Weeks later, Gowon matched federal forces to the East to attack an exhausted people. That’s the picture of the last civil war in brief. Uwazuruike may not know all these being perhaps, a little boy. That may account for his advice. Fact is, he has shown courage and determination in the pursuit of the wellbeing of Easterners but one big mistake can wipe it all out. He said he’s gathering intelligence by the hour on the situation in the north. After intelligence, what next? Will he send his army to fight an existing one? Will he send militias to protect Easterners in the churches, markets, schools? Does he want to give the Nigerian military a reason to kill without let in the pretext of fighting a rebel force? Even as non-violent as MASSOB is, the military still makes them easy targets but toasting armed groups. If he tells the people to defend themselves, with what, which training and what support in a hostile environment? quite lengthy but interesting first hand, there are people that lived that period whilst others read about it like some form of fantasy |
the general feeling back then was that this dude will be investigated inside out! but like some many others this bumbling president has absolutely no intention of prosecuting even a fly!!! |
I am a Yoruba boy but this has been bothering me Yoruba Mix with both Igbo and Hausa freely But Igbo People find it so Difficult to Mix with Hausa Why is it like this?Anyone? the real question is why do igbos hate other tribes[generalisation] they never have anything good to say about other people but they turn it around |
PointB:Do boko harams where uniforms? like saying people in the ~Niger Delta know who MEND and kidnappers are right |
what happened to all those chairmen that collect community development tax from you regularly surely they must have an office around or contact your local government chairman or as we are in 2012 broadcast the message on BlackBerry and twitter I bet you it will get to everyone in charge even the minister of works and his concubines before Sunday!! |
First, police arrested and failed to release their members and so boko attacked and killed them Second, police and army raided and killed who they believe is a boko member and his pregnant wife. Third, boko will use this incident as a flammable sentiment to carry out further attack in Kano. . . . where does it end?
exactly, the military can win support by actually showing photo evidence of their batlle or evidence they had real gun battles all the so called explosives they claim to find are never shown to the public, all the so bombs factories they find are on pages of newspapers very soon they will claim to know their sponsors without prosecuting anyone justice needs to be seen to be done for them to get more support all these newspaper offensive is not re-assuring anyone people dont feel safer with their pure water take downs |
mbulela:Allowing them to go it alone is risky in a not too well regulated environment, the CBN and the NCC can work more on it getting the banks to resolve 'common issues' alone is like pulling a tooth, does anyone has the figures for the uptake of internet banking in nigeria, I feel the banked even need it more than the unbanked in nigeria; bank branches are too congested and services are extremely slow |
