I think it defeats the purpose of marriage, and if I know that this would be the arrangement before i get married i would definitely think twice about it! Nonetheless if condition makes it so, and i genuinely feel there is nothing that can be done about it(nothing includes taking a less paying job oh) then I might just have to live with it! And I would definitely be the woman who would fly out unannounced to visit yes even i the middle of the working week!
whats the purpose of marriage?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Police Are The Worst Paid In The World – Osayande by DisGuy: 1:20pm On Feb 21, 2012
We are going to try and back police operations with science and technology, that means there will be forensic science laboratory and the rest of them.”
the government have been saying this since 1999, surely they get a budget every year, why cant they have a lab, what the point of the lab anyway when they are not even recruiting decent policemen

And whats the correlation between their wages and the service they provide; in 2006/2007 i think, their salaries were increased, i doubt there was any notable improvement

more jobs for the boys, contract for cars, communication gadgets and more HQ buildings with no database

Its little "annoying" things like this that makes a marriage . . . why would you dislike it? If you cant stand the little idiosyncrasies of your spouse then you shouldnt marry her.
it's not that i cant stand it, its just one of those very minute things that doesnt really matter but you'd prefer not to happen- i feel like im suffocatingi guess i will have to get two double bed joined together cool

^then what's the whole point of getting married in the first place?
Does not idea not defeat the purpose of marriage?
well i suppose, just toying with the idea, knowing i can be a moody cow sometimes,so its for her own good really  grin
the whole point of getting married is not necessarily to live under the same roof, its to love someone and care for each other
and in the nigerian context to have someone cook your meals n wash after you   grin grin
FamilyRe: Your Opinion On Weekend Husbands. by DisGuy: 3:17pm On Feb 20, 2012
OMG i was just thinking of this over the weekend!!

Not that i would run away or live in another town but i can live next door or some streets away grin

Oh i was also wonder if it would be okay, if i can have a room to myself, i prefer sleeping on the bed alone,
i dont like someone breathing in my face or hair touch my face embarassed

BusinessRe: Where Are The Farmers? by DisGuy: 4:15pm On Feb 17, 2012
tkb417:
Nice one bro

i know about the programme in Kwara

Ive been to the Shonga farm settlement in Kwara where we have the Zimbabawe farmers.

Rice is huge in the country now and the last step in the chain is having a processing mill.

if i ever get to that level, ill be on top of the world.

But bros why would you wanna focus on exporting some certain crops when our number 1 staple food is not enough for us to eat?

These oyinbos, stallion, veetee, kewalrams/olams make a kill importing rice into the country. All these things must stop oh
apart from the shonga farms, the SG signed a new deal with some spanish consortium Vaoslar Consortium

I would focus on export (as well) as a cover up to investement in nigerian market, the policies are great on paper, constantly changing and each government has a new bride every term- look at cassava, some people must have invested billions in it since the OBJ era, if you are not former governor you'd probably still be waiting for a miracle in terms of loans and government support

Good on you bro! thumbs up!
BusinessRe: Where Are The Farmers? by DisGuy:
Is this a dream that I can achieve?
Ofcourse, Yes Yes ofcourse!!

Agriculture is a sure banker especially with the population and government backing (as long as its constitent)

I'd personally prefer some focus on agricultural product one can export, that way you are working to a standard and perhaps even partner with
foreign farms for ready market. so 70/30

Kwara state just signed an MOU with a spanish consortium for rice, same with taraba with dominica farms (kenya), dont know if these will even ever come to pass but its interesting
Wtf is wrong with these goddamn westerners.

Who is expected to make "direct investment" in the north?

The private sector, or the public sector?

If the latter, why? What moral right do they have to a larger share of government spending than what they've received over the past 40-odd years?

It is nobody's fault but their own that nothing came of it.
who are they nigerians or foreigners?

he is of the understanding that the country is still one, not we, them etc, if you were prescribing a solution for lets say wales, scotland, you wont group them as 2 different entities

TravelRe: NCAA To Drop Fine Against British Airways & Virgin Atlantic by DisGuy(mod): 12:27pm On Feb 15, 2012
ADint:
The panel hasn't said BA and Virgin are not guilty, but they have simple said based on the time period during which the alleged offences were committed the maximum penalty as at that time was a"cease and decease order"!

So even if they are guilty, the NCAA cannot fine them but can only issue a "cease and decease order"! The new law that allows the NCAA to fine for such infractions came into force in 2006 whereas these offences were committed btw August 2004 and March 2006 before the new law took effect.

But then again it should not end there, these guys (BA & Virgin) should be taken to the European court or a British court and charged with price fixing or collusion or overcharging as the case may be. Shell and Pfizer as 2 prominent examples were taken to court in the UK and US for compensation claims for offences committed in Nigeria when the Nigerian courts were unable to mete out adequate justice!

I believe BA and Virgin do have a case to answer, and the UK courts am sure would find them culpable in this matter as they are expected to behave responsibly and within a specified code of conduct anywhere in the world they are operating, and are answerable to the UK government authorities and courts regarding their conduct abroad and would be prosecuted as such if found wanting.
so are they guilty or not?

Seems the panel just concluded they cant be fined, where do we go from here, cease and decease meaning? they are now charging purely competitive price?

why won't they? More states simply means more allocations. Considering the fact that the south-east gets the lowest amount from the FG, advocating for a new state is in order. How about all the useless stats in the north.

somebody said it during the mend crisis and he was said to be spot on!

Now Clinton is saying what we know already- these former oyinbo officials are really raking in money from Thisday sha, free money

We pour our aggressions at governors that govern states with great potentials. Governors like Theo orji, peter Obi, Alao Akala etc. Please can those that are familiar with Ebonyi state tell us what the governor has achieved for the state.
most people on NL dont live there (probably because thers nothing there) if you look at the NL census done some time ago

in other climes, the role of the central bank might be just monetary policies while regulatory is handle by another agency, but in nigeria 'the other' agency is still the CBN, so in the nigerian context regulatory is also the function of the cbn

i hate to have to 'defend' soludo,

he never brazenly donated money to mend, bh, massob or opc.
the free market requires everybody trying to better their lives within the ambits of the law.
soludo never tried to impede this noble objective.
soludo that was on the jet to london every other day with Ibru, Dangote, Akinola opening  redundant branches performing obsecure transaction: school fees for fellow stealers? the same dude that is helping otedola restructure his debt knowing full well the banks are making provisions the same minute they are signing the loan
