Car TalkRe: How Much Will It Cost To Insure A Vehicle? by DisGuy: 10:27pm On Jan 20, 2012
i was about to ask that question too, but seems they are only interested in getting customers and not necessarily enlightening the populace how insurance works in the Nigerian scene

Considering its taking 3-6months to settle claims, when you damage someone else's car who doesn't have insurance, will the insurance company re-imburse the policy holder who will most likely have to drop cash instantly, doubt any danfo driver will wait 6months for insurance company 'investigations'
PoliticsRe: Fraud & Corruption Galore: N151bn Fraud In Pensions! by DisGuy: 10:05pm On Jan 20, 2012
According to Maina, over N 39 billion worth of properties bought with the proceeds of the graft have been recovered. Also several bank accounts with a combined value of N 180 million were revealed and impounded.

Majority of the graft was traced to corrupt officials in the Pension unit of the Office of the Head of Service, in a testament to the rot of corruption that is ever pervasive in the system.
these accounts can be traced to people, they should name them

PoliticsRe: Sanusi, El-rufai And Ribadu Compared! by DisGuy: 7:52pm On Jan 18, 2012
Nashville:
Intellectually, El-Rufai is by far the most intelligent and even Sanusi accepted that El-Rufai is not his intellectual match. You can check his record, a 1st class from ABU and a Harvard alumnus. He is not as talkative as Sanusi but he is more intelligent. To me Ribadu is not in their league at all. Ribadu's performances at the presidential debates last year were disappointing.

Politically though, Sanusi has it. He is from a royal family and has all the networks. El-Rufai's father died at 8 and he was brought up by an uncle. Sanusi is really where he is today mainly due to his background. He was promoted from Senior Manager in UBA to CEO of First bank within nine years. That does not come from genius. That's politics. And Sanusi can jail bank MDs without any questions because of his political background.

As I said, Sanusi and El-Rufai are intellectuals but I will not put Ribadu in that league at all.
what political background does he have that many southern politician haven't got? he is not the first person from a royal family in the Nigerian business scene

its not like his royal house is the most influential in the whole of the country

Why do Nigerians keep looking for heroes? Cos we aint got enough good men in govtWhy can't we judge people based on their deeds, and not their words? Most dont last long in govt to leave a mark, so we have few deed and plenty words

As far as I'm concerned, none of the three have achieved anything noteworthy. Rather, they've been beneficiaries of the Nigerian system, occupied positions for which they were not the best qualified, and did not make their mark by leaving any lasting legacy. It's all talk, talk, and more talk.

See how Sanusi is showing GEJ and his rogue AGF the middle finger whilst in government!!

Benez:
@ Sienna, thanks.
House, i have spent more than 12 yrs in dis insustry. Most claimants have issues with Insurance coys at d point of claim. The issue is dat clients are not well educated b4 picking up an Ins. Policy.

Now, back to my point. I quite agree that it is 5% but for a standard Motor policy, there is an Excess, which is an amt or a %age of the would be amt claimed (whichever is greater) imposed by an Ins. Coy. For instance, an excess could be #20k or 5% of claim (whichever is greater). What it means is that, for a car of #1m, at the point of claim, if the loss/damage is #400k, d coy will find 5% of #400k. The greater btw the result and the above        #20k will now be deducted from d #400k and the bal. Is given to u. That means instead of #400k, u will get #380k subject to depreciation.

The impact is felt more in d event of a total loss/theft because basically, d coy will apply percentage which will definitely be higher than the excess amt. In the above example, if the vehicle is stolen, the excess deductible is 5% of #1m. Some clients end up bearing up to #200 - #300k because it is value that determines the excess. In otherwords, the higher d value of a vehicle, d higher d excess.

But there is a way u can negotiate at d inception of the policy that u don't want d coy to deduct any excess from your claim in the event of a future loss, so d coy will then charge u 1% of the value of d car and add it to the premium of 5% to make it 6%.

U must equally note that for vehicle theft, Insurance coys settle after three months because of investigation and to see if d car will be recovered.

This is my submission. For enquiry and patronage, call me on 08023198878  or 08173198878.

Thank u.
and in the course of investigating a stolen car, or repairing a damaged car, is there a complimentary car given to the policy holder or he will just have to leg it for 3/6months?

PoliticsRe: How Subsidy Went From N300b To N1.3 Trillion: Has Anyone In Govt Explained? by DisGuy: 11:03pm On Jan 11, 2012
so FG reduce the age of cars in December 2010/january2011 and gbam the demand quadruple?? haba the cost of clearing older cars is almost equivalent to 10yr cars

efisher:
@Dis guy, that's a valid concern too but let's point the searchlight on the power sector also.

1. Population has increased leading to direct increase in energy need.
2. Increase in "MW" most likely did not meet up with the increase in power demand.
3. More appliances, more businesses, greater awareness, more wealthy individuals etc all contribute to an increase in energy demand and ability to meet it.
4. More generators imported as mentioned earlier.
lol since the day youve gotten your brownie point about contributing to the power sector document, youve been drinking something  grin

more weathy individuals? in the period when madam okereke, madam ibru dem  crashed the stock market yakata,

isnt the main reason why we are importing millions of car, the FG and NASS member with their annual budget for cars?
PoliticsRe: Momoh, Madueke, Nezor SA, & Tridax SA: The Real CABAL? by DisGuy: 8:51pm On Jan 11, 2012
Every company/ or person named should come out and defend their name

These companies should tell the world how much they paid in taxes and how much they lifted

Now we know why many companies are running away from the stock exchange, they dont want the exposure

These companies, the NCC should reveal when they were registered and where their operating from?

Anyone seen Nezors SA's office or truck anywhere?

we realy ahve to expalin how subsidy went from 300b to 1.3trillion in just one year and the only explanation was that our fuel consumption increased  shocked

PoliticsRe: The Investors Are Coming? by DisGuy: 12:00pm On Jan 11, 2012
Good one here

I've always wondered why the govt cant just build more refineries- but we keep getting the old theoretical ' govt has no business running a business'; you only have to look around the world to see there are socialist policies amongst the most capitalists govt

if the govt can get nigerians of repute to manage the 'subsidy savings'; they can also get competent nigerians to manage the refineries!
PoliticsRe: If We Must Bring Back Subsidy, It Could Be Done This Way by DisGuy: 2:43pm On Jan 10, 2012
Like every other system, this will fail woefully if we cannot maintain an accurate database of our citizens. This will mean computerization of our population data with biometric controls. This skeletal write-up may be an idea for the next 100 years but I think it's worth mentioning.

What do you think?
Despite repeated annual budget and/or pronoucement regarding having a national database, the FG have failed woefully on this, its never been delivered, money wasted even with people of repute they always claim to appoint to head this- together with driving and motor vehicle license- if the FG cannot achieve this rather 'simple' task, why should nigerians trust them with their second budget-sure p?

nice suggestions by the way

5. Subsidy will be graded according to earning power. I.e. Higher earners enjoy less subsidy per liter while lower income earners enjoy more.
Oga efisher will send his 3 under age housegirls to buy petrol with their cards and his security guard to buy petrol for his kids with their token

PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy And Luxurious Bus Companies. by DisGuy: 12:02pm On Jan 09, 2012
allycat:
We bought diesel last week for our generator, after the removal of the subsidy on PMS and the noticed that there was hardly any increment in the price. This makes me wonder why luxury buses from the east whose running cost have not increased also increased their prices by almost 200%. We are all shouting ourselves hoarse at the government and private businesses are using the opportunity to rip us off, while we remain mute. HFor the same reason BRT buses in Lagos or molues or trailers carrying foodstuff from the north have no business increasing their prices as they are not affected in any way since they use diesel. The airline industry also is not affected their fuel was deregulated ages ago so if they increase their prices it will only be due to greed.
So while we curse at our government we should also curse those fellow common men who are making life more difficult for their fellow common man.
IT is also the responsibility of the FG to prevent these sort of profiteering, so why blame nigerians when we have people with the power to do so?

if this was done in US, UK there are govt departments that will come down hard on them, joe blog will report it to someone in govt, who will wale eze report it to? with all the overbloated govt departments who do nigerian consumers complain to get a result/refund?
PoliticsRe: Why Gain A Kobo To Lose A Naira? By Dr. Okonjo-iweala by DisGuy: 11:33am On Jan 09, 2012
The Federal government has established a Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE – P) that Nigerians can use to hold government accountable. The discontinuation of the current fuel subsidy will save additional resources for investing in programmes targeted at mitigating poverty and spurring economic growth.
We already have the budget every year to do that, and it doesnt look good so wetin this new document go show us?
PoliticsRe: Why Gain A Kobo To Lose A Naira? By Dr. Okonjo-iweala by DisGuy: 11:32am On Jan 09, 2012
Power—our epileptic power supply is crippling the growth of this economy. The SURE programme will invest N195 billion in the construction of large, small and medium hydropower plants that will generate a cumulative capacity of 2740 megawatts of electricity, while also providing counterpart funding for the development of coal power projects with a potential to generate 1000 megawatts.
from 1999 to date i believe we have spent well over this amount and we have not generated anything spectacular, na today we go come generate am like magic abi?
