I wonder what the profit margin is like for a mini supermarket, with the western experience, i know the larger stores have the better deals buying in bulk
TravelRe: Should I Use A Travel Agent? by DisGuy(mod): 11:18am On Oct 18, 2011
Vicjustice:
If the word "Travel Agent" is defined according to its true meaning, then, there would be nothing wrong in employing their services, and their services would be mainly to:
1) Help in suggesting Destinations or Holidays Resorts
2) Flight Reservation/Bookings
3) Hotel/Accommodation Booking
4) Activities Suggestions
5)Guides and advice regarding sites to see and
6) advice on the laws, and on the things that are the DOs and DON'Ts.

But if a "Travel Agent" accords himself as a "Visa Agent", then, there should be no two ways about it, just RUN away for him as you would run away from a Pastor who introduces himself as a "Prophet"
"Visa Agents" will only get you into a UK 10 years ban, or an American Live Ban, or the Schengen Indefinite Ban: Know that it is impossible for anyone to help in obtaining visa for anyone, there is no such connection as many Nigerians acclaim
Absolutely spot on, the word Travel agent going by discussion on NL has been bastardized, and to be honest many travel agents in nigeria should be taking this up with the authorities and the public, some many people spoiling the image of the industry

it still can be as simple as that!!

What you  guys are basically saying is that, this straight forward obvious fraud is happening and no one has raised an eyebrow since its announcement?

The Senate committee didnt see anything wrong?
The economist/professors didnt see anything wrong
The Accountants wont blow the whistle?

or have they been paid by the northerners to keep shhh as well?

The only people that see the very obvious biggest fraud of the century are Expert on the most progressive online Forum out of Nigeria

Well she'll be good at shouting that for one

Get2go:
Mind u, she joined a ship that adopted GEJ. I can remember seeing the election posters of her party members with GEJ pic on them all because of her. SE votes wouldn't have been eminent if not for her party. Her choice if wanting to be in the senate may be to have more INDEPENDENT WILL to act across board. I will also give it to her, and I think other Nigerian will do.
hogwash, who will the Se vote for a Hausa man?

Get2go:
It's dumb to say she was bound to loose dat election characterised with controversies knowing dat another popular person ran de race with her. As far as I am concerned she has not been dented by whatsoever, and I am of de opinion many Nigerians still have faith in her.
I'd like to know wat would have been her position on issues like bombings, corrupt politicians and other matters the Senate have power to deal with in the nation today, if she'd been there?
There are many individual not in the senate making their positions known about bombings, corruption etc why isnt she doing the same? why does she have to be in the senate to do the same? she wants to be paid?

Did Jeta Amata's Black Gold Make US Box Office?

Looking at Jeta Amata'a Black Gold that starred Billy Zane, Vivica Fox, Haekem Kae-Kazeem, Eric Roberts, Micael Madsen and Tom Sizemore, isn't that enough to make US box office? The film had 6 Hollywood actors and had some Hollywood production crew involved in it.

Can't such a film hit the states and be played in US cinemas? I keep wondering how much Black Gold was shot with? How would they make their money back?

However, if Black Gold didn't make US box office, what does it take to make a Nollywood movie make US box office as Mirror Boy made waves in the UK

Please I would love to get responses from informed Nairalanders.

Thank you.
thought he was sponsored by Niger Delat government, they don't need a ROI in that region, flush with cash, just an acknowledgement is enough

Well done

I was thinking there will be a generic time table for students in each department, for every semester, they will just cancel out the modules they are not taking.

with the map, as long as they know where the classes are, its cool

and perhaps a printable one for visitors showing the toilets, library and auditorium

do you have a link to the current website?

Well done once again for pushing the bar! i'm usually confused when i visit unversity website, either not functioning, contain very little information or very rigid- it's almost as if the students are not expected to use it part from paying their fees with a scracth card

we dare not blame the dude we asked for - he is one of ours- he a southerner and a former player

the press asked for him! they can fault themselves can they?

when the cbn oversees a trxn costing 550b, uses 500b of taxpayers money and access pays only 50b. At the end of the deal, access with its 50b gets 75% of the proceeds of the trxns.

It doesnt take a soothsayer to know that underhand dealings are going on. In the US and UK, what the govt did was to nationalise the banks and when the banks were stabilised, they sell the shares back into private hands at a profit!!!

Or you want it in even simpler da-da-da terms?
yes o , please put it in simpler terms abeg, None of the banks in the UK as far as i know have been sold, they are still being by government appointed administrators, and unlike the UK banks the nigerian banks didnt stabilise one bit to attract enough interest from investors, they were fraught with time wasting court cases by shareholders who haven't woken up to the fact that the banks were still alive due to taxpayers money or rogue CEOs
The CBN cant keep taxpayers money there forever.

I no study accounting o but the govt/taxpayers will take a hit one way or the other- what i need you to explain the northerners getting a slice,  chika obi and aig fronting for northerners?
InvestmentRe: The Access Intercontinental Bank Fraud In Picture by DisGuy: 8:25pm On Oct 12, 2011
kurus:
Ladies and Gentlemen,

This is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi ploy to own the recapitalised banks as a proxy for powerful northern interest who felt the north lost out in the last consolidation exercise.

Without going into a lot of technical jargons, what is happening is that the said northern interests will own all the extra new access bank shares to be created. So if access is paying 7.5% of the transaction cost but gets 75% of intercontinental, it means SLS and his cronies will get the balance of (75-7.5)% of the access bank shares to be issued for purchase of intercontinental(Aig and wigwe will also get small egunje shares). Effectively, SLS and his cronies have used AMCON funds to buy intercontinental and then merged intercontinental with Access bank.

SLS a-ss lickers can try and dispute the above facts, cos no finance professional will EVER advise his client to put up 500b for a trxn and the other guy who puts up 50b (90% less) now ends up getting 75% of what is being bought, except SLS is the one doing the mathematics involved.
please explain to us simpletons too, go into the technical jargon, name the northern interest so we can understand it properly

how many universities in Nigeria offer courses animation or multimedia technology

And there's nothing wrong in nigerians laughing at things produced in nigeria, it's only a phase that will be pass, the real value will come out when they take the criticism on board and keep at it, look at the music industry back then there were a lot of baggy jeans wearing homo sapien with yankee accent, look at it now

It 'adds up' my brother (at least in some people's computations). Check the merger document at http://www.accessbankplc.com/Library/Documents/Presentations/Business_Combination_with_Intercontinental_Bank_Plc.pdf pages 11, 18 and 19. Presently Intercontinental has a negative shareholding of N550b which AMCON will inject the necessary capital to zerorise. Then ACCESS will pay N50b.

My question is this: why doesnt AMCON just add the remaining N50b and own the bank 100%? Or am I the only one that did arithmetic in primary school?

O su mi, my Lord. huh shocked embarassed
maybe because amcon is not in the business of owing/running a bank, but buying/selling debts so banks can function properly, amcon is a government creation-government shouldnt compete with private investors in banking sector

it's a prerequisite for a university license in Nigeria and nowhere is it stated that the school is open only to Christian students, if it categorically states its for xtain students non Christians wont apply in the first place, it's an educational institution not a religious organisation

there's a difference between a Christian sponsored uni and a Christian university, does is CMS Lagos opened to only Christians?

Spanish football is too slow for my liking anyway, fall asleep all the time

i hate that they get a foul every time someone barge into another player

or you only have to look at the ref then raise your hand and the referee blows his whistle, for a foul

i like watching barca against premier league teams though at least the pace is faster and you get some hard tackles!!
