No wonder he allowed those bank thief steal and get his own cut- according to some he also had plans to clean up the mess, thereby earning a tidy amount in the process as welll probably getting 10% of any amount given by amcon
'when the market is booming they make money, when the market is depressed they make money - that's Soludo's style, he loves his own voice so much he couldnt resist coming out immediately afterwards
okonji iweala doesn't want to change the world around her? we know why Soludo is not sitting in some top spot outside- the lure of dirty money is too much and the scrutiny outside nigeria will have been too much

KnowAll: Soludo has suddenly become an ardent apostle of Hind-sight Politics, " I was going to sort out the exposure the banks had" we all know hindsight policy makers are no policy makers, Soludo could not have bitten a hand that was turning out Naira note towards his way like water running from a tap. It would take a man selfless to himself and the nation to stop the rut and that mouth watering prospect of making a handsome killing.
Thank God Islamic Sanusi had a diffrent orientation to many Southern Elites who out of not knowing what to do with the excess cash stolen and embezzeled from the nation result to perverse inhibitions, " I am sure we all read how Igbenideion indulge in a sexual tryst with 3 pretty white girls in an hotel room all paid for by money stolen from selling Edo Shares" and how a woman friend Orji Kalu died in his house after excessive exhuation.
On the other hand Aganga should not have answered Soludo since the Finance Minister is the boss of the CBN Governor, he should have left that to Sanusi and Sanusi knows where it hurts when it comes to Soludo.
Secondly Aganga could not have done anything if the Cin C says he needs a certain amount of money for some special projects bearing in mind we are in an election year, and to add salt to the injury the country did not have an administration in place for 3 months between November 09 and Feb 2010, only God knows what the Taminu's, Turai's and the Aodooka's of these world have done with our common -wealth during the absence of a substantive President. Well this is the fact that Aganga and Johnnie didnt come out in the open to expose anything or even send the EFCC after them says a lot. . . at least sanusi put the blame firmly on someone's footstep, these two have been doling out money even on the last day of the year Not once has the Finance minister come out to caution the government about its spending and even the 2011 budget is not different |

Cuddlemii: Well I got an admission into Lambton College for Information Technology Professional Graduate Certificate program but its so expensive apparently I had wrong figures for the tuition fees before applying so I can't attend.
I have another admission in Calgary which is affordable, but its a Fast Track Certificate program of 8 months with 8 weeks practicum or internship and I am so passionate about this IT program, the program is mostly dominated by men so I might be the only female, I want the challenge and hands on experience is so fascinating but I am scared of the Canadian embassy. Would they give me visa for an 8 months Fast Track Certificate program? Wont they be wondering why I am not doing a masters degree or PGD instead.
Some people adviced me to get a letter from my office claiming that I would coming back and that the program is useful for our operations .e.t.c and Thank God I am an IT personnel in my company so the letter should sound convincing.
What do you guys suggest.
FYI: I am not applying for a masters degree cos I have a 2:2 and Memorial University doesn't have an IT apart from Computer Engineering. Secondly, Its only Lambton College that has a graduate certificate or PGD in IT but I cant afford it.
Thank you and happy Sunday to everyone maybe you should try and convince them that you will be using the certificate to apply for a master/pgd what are you going to do after studying? |

even though Soludo is an ***wipe This is exactly what we need strong opposition to the government from 'experts', professors have been silent on the economy, they just go on strike for money instead of criticizing or supporting the government or analysing policies. If a foreign newspaper had written this it would have been 'oh they are trying to rubbish us as usual' Goodluck Jonathan is a weak dodo and its rubbing off on Aganga ps some parts of the articlue read like the usual nairaland net-beef |

When you say represent the East, then any Easterner can do the job. Heartland couldn't even get a draw against the new comers, the babes are really they Blackpool of the league I told you that country can be a cesspit sometimes- they cancel the sponsorship deal with MTN, thats what you get when you add 'sweeteners' to contracts- some people feel left out esp in a country like nigeria where cake sharing is the norm |

Most of these posters were born after the Civil War and they continue to hate the Ndigbo. You said time heals everything. No. There is real anger amongst Igbo youth. Everyday we are hearing our people are being targeted in the North. I thought we were Nigerians?
Everyday, we have to suffer the ridicule, the slaps in our face and the disrespect of our people. Enough is enough. There will come a day when the Igbo rise up, and you better hope that day is not not near. Because the way things are looking in the world, Nigeria could implode at any moment. Yea, amongst those online sometimes one will think the only people in the house of assembly, pdp ministers are Hausas and Yorubas |

That why he will be a better candidate to represent the Igbos, he has an acceptable face and i'm sure someone in his family is from igbo or has an Igbo middlename like azikwe Lets be honest without rotating the presidency or 'fairness and equity' i don't see this happening so soon they don't like anybody- if out three candidates Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo even in a fair and free election |

Politics › Labour And Productivity: An Obscene Bugdet! by DisGuy(op): 10:49am On Jan 28, 2011 |
Members of the House of Representatives, who met with the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr. Emeka Wogu, protested against the ministry’s spending of additional N184 million on trips last year without the approval of the National Assembly.
Only last Thursday, the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) headed by former Defence Minister, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, took the campaign against high cost of governance in Nigeria to President Goodluck Jonathan in Aso Rock, Abuja.
But the elder council’s pleas to the President for a cut in the overhead costs of Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) seems not to have meant anything to some public officials, including ministers, whose provisions for overhead costs in the 2011 budget are considered outrageous.
At the defence of the 2011 budget of the Ministry of Labour and Productivity yesterday before the House House Committee on Labour and Productivity, Wogu asked the lawmakers to approve N622.5 million for the ministry’s foreign and local trips.
Curiously, the ministry spent N285.7 million on local trips alone in 2010 as against the N128.6 million appropriated for that purpose. He said of the ministry’s N9.13 billion budget now before the National Assembly, N300 million would be spent on local travels and N322.5 million for international tours in the current year.
But the committee members were not happy that the ministry spent over N184 million as extra expenditure on trips in 2010 without the consent of the National Assembly.
The ministry also spent N263.1 million on foreign trips last year as opposed to the N78.85 million appropriated for that purpose.
In his defence, Wogu said: “There are many international labour conferences and meetings worldwide that are mandatory for us to attend. These include three meetings per year holding in Geneva. Each one costs an average of N40 million; the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Ministers of Labour Congress, African Regional Labour Arbitration Centre and Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) and others that cost an average of N20 million per trip. They are mandatory meetings of which Nigeria is executive member in some of the bodies.”
On the local travel and transport components of the budget, the minister said: “Specifically, we had travel commitments of over N71 million that could not be accommodated due to the revised budget of 2010. We believe that an increase of up to 60 per cent in the proposed budget could be reasonable.”
The NN9.15 billion budget of the ministry is made up of N8.283 billion for personnel and overhead costs and a capital vote of N775.9 million. The proposed personnel and overhead costs are N4.995 billion and N3.288 billion in that order.
Earlier the panel’s chairman, Ado Dogo Audu told the minister that the meeting was necessary for the lawmakers to appraise the ministry’s performance in 2010 as well as the justification for the 2011 proposals.
Other highlights of the ministry’s budget include N250.5 million for the training of “500 members of staff across various cadres in the headquarters and the 36 states of the federation, N72 million for security services, N52.5 million for cleaning and fumigation of the ministry’s headquarters and the 36 state offices, and N70.2 million for meetings of the Labour Advisory Council, among others. Pure Waste, millions of workers working in dangerous environments up and down the country this minister prefer negotiations Labour unions instead of actually pushing for conducive working environment like the countries he visits for 'mandatory' meetings Guardian |

I'd recommend you approach all or any investment/accounting company you know, especially their HR or if you have a contact however small the firm is
Offer to work for free for a period of time to gain some experience in this new sector Offer to work as a junior admin, I know most naija companies for some weird reason still require their 'basic' admin staff to have a degree or even ICAN sef, offer yourself to work part-time, or some few days in a week just to get a feel of the environment and on the other hand you might get tips one applying for jobs in the sector, you will build networks, might be recommended to another firm or even offered a role as a paid staff
You'll get a lot of Nos but be persistent, tell them you will do anything, it doesn't even have to be formal, just someone to proof read the documents, go over some presentations, do some basic data entry, basic excel, send correspondence, help organise meeting rooms, help organise training schedules, talk to anybody that mention Stock, invest, capital market anything |

AjanleKoko: Government makes the NYSC compulsory for everybody; whether government or private companies. I honestly do not know what sanctions are available if you employ staff that don't pass through NYSC, but I am aware it's the law.
As per the state and LGA stuff, you know there is Federal Character legislation in Nigeria. Even private companies are expected to distribute hiring sufficiently across the geopolitical zones, depending where in Nigeria they are operating. It's a government thing, but it's some kind of unwritten expectation that your hiring should reflect the diversity of either your stakeholders (board members) or the government itself.
A bank that is operating nationally is not really expected to take staff from the South to run its branches up north. But when they advertise, they have to use the national press, cos the local press in the North may not be as developed as the one from the South. So when they do, they ask for all that info upfront, so they can shortlist the likely candidates. I remember in one company I worked, where the HR person got into trouble when she presented a report at the board meeting, which showed that a significant percentage of the staff were from the CEO's state and local government area. The other board members were furious.
Another example is the oil and gas sector. There are usually quota reserved for host communities, like Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, etc. An oil company may well find itself hiring majority Yoruba indigenes simply because its head office is in Lagos, and Yorubas have a geographical advantage. But taking those Yorubas to work in the Delta will likely create a major issue. So you may well find specific jobs zoned to indigenes of these communities, even if other applicants are better qualified, they won't be considered.
These things may sound weird but I guess they're necessitated by the peculiarity of the environment. Laws in the UK are liberal, but I doubt if the same situation is applicable in Nigeria, where people have the mindset of 'national cake'. It's not even a government or leadership thing; to a large extent Nigerians are not liberal. You can't blame them either. It's just the way people see things. No wonder |
