We really need quality matches. We cant keep playn Jamaica, Sierra Leon, Saudi Arabia, or quack sides on FIFA days. How else are we gonna be greater than we were in 1994.
those are the friendlies we can afford to be honest. only thing we can do it pray some decent teaM INVITES US so they can pick up the tabs or to put it appropriately we pick up the fees due to cancellation, because we cant organise ourselves on time to get visa or locate the venue cool

Politics › Re: Federal University In Ekiti State - Ikole Ekiti As The Right Location by DisGuy: 4:02am On Feb 21, 2011
jensinmi:
As daft as it sounds, people are dying and more are getting maimed. Someone has to back down, and we all know the PDP's Federal Government won't. So I wonder who's left on the other side of the equation. Let's see , Maybe Fayemi??

The Federal Government will say they have given Ekiti a University. People elsewhere will ask why "those Ekiti people" are fighting.

The solutions I proffer here are those that will save lives. Fayemi can take it or leave it.
Actually the people are not killing themselves, the police shot at protesters- i guess this is the prerogative of the PDP as well they can shoot whoever they like ?

an when you say back down i don't get what you mean exactly cos the only Fayemi has said was that he will be talking the issue up in Abuja

people elsewhere will be saying why is this DUMB Jonathan causing so much death everywhere, why is he making decisions without consulting or actually explaining the reason for their U-turn?
Politics › Re: Federal University In Ekiti State - Ikole Ekiti As The Right Location by DisGuy: 1:44am On Feb 21, 2011
jensinmi:
Gov Fayemi needs to know his position. He is an opposition governor. He doesn't get to choose where Federal facilities are cited. The PDP couldn't care less if he wants it in Ilejemeje. They will put it wherever they want. He needs to back down instead of remaining on this issue.

Someone said why should Arise be the one to exert authority. Well,  I don't know if he is truly responsible, but let us not forget. Ayo Arise is PDP, and the last time I checked, the president and the FEC are all PDP. In simple words, they don't give a hoot what Fayemi thinks.

As an opposition Senator or Governor, you need to know your limits and to know your role.

@Olumogun and Ileke-Idi

Do you proclaimed Ekiti people know Ilejemeje?? grin grin grin
In the nigerian context this make some sense but it's quiet daft for anyone to say opposition senators and Governors should simply back down just because the FG makes a decision. what are they there for then?
if the PDP led government withholds allocation to the state will you also say they are free to do whatever they want

The FG already chose a location with the collaboration for the state government and the people, the State government went ahead to pay for surveying and land clearance only for the Fg to start building in another location entirely without consultation

Well i reckon GEJ wont be campaigning in Ekiti any time soon, not in the SW anyway if this sort of rubbish is allowed just because he is the president

Good idea if implemented

I implore every one of us to demand timescales, locations, financial outlays, details of the relationships between FG, research centres and states, bureaucratic structures, organisational structures etc.
not a first GEJ has been making promises, 200b to the film industry off the cuff, left everyone feeling puzzled, even one of the minister that was asked for proper explanation said there'll be a you guessed it -committee set up

In Cambodia, the term refers to high ranking female servants who served food and drink, fanned and massaged, and sometimes provided sexual services to the King. It is however not clear what Justin Adaba and Amina Iye Ahmadu do for Mrs. Jonathan.
She is an incredibly large woman and her needs are well; enormous for Mr Odeshuku

Yet, determined to respond to the charges by the council, the presidency has set up a team, mandated to prepare a report that will reflect the government’s gripe with the PAC report. The team is being coordinated by officials in the office of the SGF, Yayale Ahmed, and is expected to show that the PAC, made up of eminent Nigerians including Fola Adeola and Kanu Agabi, is largely ignorant of the intricacies of government affairs.

“They have concluded that the Danjuma group is made up of people who do not understand the workings of government,” a source within the SGF’s office said, asking not to be named since he was not speaking in official capacity.
Foolishness! They are accusing the group THEY set up themselves of being incompetent,

NPL Sponsorship Bid:Court Annuls Fresh Bid
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has annulled the decision of the congress of the Nigeria Premier League to order fresh title sponsorship bid for the league.

While delivering the verdict, Justice Binta Muritala Nyako said the decision of the congress is a nullity and a mere waste of time because it was taken in defiance to court summon that was duly served the parties involved days before the decisions were reached.

Counsel to Total Promotions, Adebambo Adesanya had asked the presiding judge for clarifications when the matter came up for hearing today.

Nigeria is not USA. Even Tinubu, and certainly Tinubu's wife, will be licking Jonathan's arse after the election and how will PDP lose control of the House? How many Yorubas are in the house?
A random survey conducted by the North-west zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has led to dire projections that the ruling party may lose six out of the seven states in the zone.

According to party insiders who spoke with THISDAY yesterday, the projection is that PDP risks losing in Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina and Kano. The only state considered safe is Jigawa.

The North-west is seen as the biggest voting bloc in the country, although no single party has won in all the states in general elections since 1999.

Currently, PDP controls all states but Kano in the zone, but the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), founded by Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, who is also its presidential candidate, is said to be the first choice among the people who are said to be passionate about a Northerner regaining power at the centre.

agree with you, but your friends are your friends as long as tehy are not on Nairaland, even the most rational personal will start getting ideas

Sometimes i just wonder how people work together with other Yorubas, Hausas (muslims) at work in maybe lagos or some other parts of the country with this level of reverse hatred

Didn't even know you can get accepted for an MBA without three years work experience as a supervisor/middle management level

Well,i don't know the direction of your question.Do you mean opportunities currently available for IB professionals in Nigeria or future career directions in the IB industry? If you mean the later,I am currently not yet into the IB industry but think that there will be expanding opportunities in the area of Risk Mgt and assessment,Pensions adm,Regulatory activities etc. This requires further training and knowledge, for instance some organisations won't even in most cases consider your application if you have no postgraduate qualification e.g ARM etc.A friend of mine applied to SEC young professionals program but was not shortlisted because he has no pg qualification, this was what he told me.
IMO normal Masters degree would have been sufficient for these roles, MBA is overkill, though there might be better prospect of promotion

Nice, Nigeria houses to tend to have that same look and it gets boring.
I was just about to say the same thing really and load sof cement, they also just copy and build what they have seen elsewhere eevn if it doesnt fit the environment, pillars and midget swimming pools and you rarely see houses with gardens. They make sure tehy use up all the land then construct one huge ugly fence like a prison

sometimes i actually think they use the same architect undecided

disturbing liars.

see here, in any organisation, you get 6 months or thereabouts probation on upon employment before you are confirmed.

would any one hire goodluck johnathan with this record of performance?

we are singularly lucky that we have been granted  probationary period of sorts, and it is clear the man is not up to snuff.

does anyone who wants the best for nigeria ,the SS and the future of our children really think this man can provide solutions  to nigeria's challanges?
with his PhD in Fisheries/zoology i doubt he can manage a fish pond talk less of a country

lets be honest the only thing going for him with his supporters is that he is from their region if he were to be a northerner shuoooo
