You are just being bias and taking sides The purpose of threads are to discuss issues and ideas. When you have nothing more to discuss than throw insults or express anger everyday people stop learning from it. I didn't participate in the discussion so i don't know how i am being biased. Shalom |

Vivere: This is one reason why I often get frustrated with Nigerian officials. All the trains should be running at full speed right now, to cushion the effects of the fuel scarcity, and also to maximise the trips to be made during this yuletide season. Is it that officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) did not realise that every December, normally throws up a large number of travellers?
For goodness sake, what does it take to update a website regularly? Why hasn't this been done, before now? Later, they will start making noise up and down and start claiming they are fully compliant with Servicom.
The worst set are the intra-city rail trips. Why can't there be an app or a mobile customer service line, which prospective passengers can dial, to get current and real time info., on trips, departure times and arrival times? If I live in Epe in Lagos for instance, there is no way I can get info on timings for train services to Agege for example, unless I take a 2-hour journey to physically get to Iddo terminus from Epe. Why??
These channels can be set up and managed by private SME companies, for a small fee. A USSD code can also be deployed, to allow prospective passengers get an update on the status of trains nationwide, by charging subscribers a minimal rate. And it is not rocket science. Despite the govt's cashless policy, there are still no POS terminals at any of their ticketing counters in Lagos. So if you want to use your debit card to pay for your ticket in their terminus, it would not be possible to do so!
May God deliver us from mediocre public servants, in this country! I checked the profile for the ICT director to see if i can send him an email. His profile has also not been updated for a long time smh RAPHAEL ODANGThey should at least have a number people can call to check train availability if they can't be bothered to update their website |

There are no set times anymore, the trains and tracks are always breaking down hence they operate when there's availability now...you might even have to change
Their website is redundant! |

Inkredible: Valid point but making such huge purchases aren't that frequent. Maybe once or twice a year if renting an already furnished apartment. True, i think that's why most people see credit card as a back up, not main card...but i guess if you want it to be 'active' you might as well use it that way. If you use public transport you might want pay for an annual travel card with it . |

Inkredible: Good day people.
Is it advisable to make normal day to day or rather weekly shopping and budget payments with the Credit card then pay it all off fortnightly?
If there is monies in your account, can you still use the credit card nonetheless and reimburse from there?
I quite keen on the credit build-up. I need all the info I can get.
Thanks. To be honest I think credit cards should be used for bulky high ticket purchase, leave the weekly shopping to your normal debit card/cash. if you're buying Dyson, Furniture, cars, package holidays etc but then again everyone has a comfortable strategy to keep on top of things |

fatima04: Something funny I just remembered:
Lagos airport the guy at the counter helped with my box for it to be weighed and tagged and actually asked for tips and told him I didn't have change. He even went further to offer to fill my immigration card and I was like durrrh... no be my details u wan put there.
Train from high wycombe to birmingham Immediately the guy saw me with a baby strapped on and luggage he told me to wait once the train comes for him to help me on the train then the amazing thing happened, as I disembarked the train another security guy approached me that he was notified that I would be needing assistance from the other station.
I was shook . Just kept saying thank you and at a point I was sounding odd
Both are being paid but one doesn't ask for bribe to render assistance. Note this is one of the best thing you can say to anyone!! Please and thank you goes a very long way.... |

imconfused: Bills from Nigeria 150k pcm for both families School fees for family -550k pa 120kpa part salary gatemans Cousins, siblings money.by the side -cannot even calculate this one.
So it mounts up like crazy..
We have decided to arrange our finances to allow us make our own investments if not we keep giving out and end up having nothing.
Have landed property, not many.We have decided to build in 2018..so will have to lock up
Just ordinary visit ran into hundreds of thousands cos the things to do to keep our families comfortable were too much..we were so relieved when our holiday ended.
I'm grateful that we are not poor and are able to manage ourselves and keep family happy but the bills are back breaking..
I wonder how other people cope and are able to build so fast and have tonnes of investment.
We have arranged meeting with financial adviser in January . Is there a thread here for people with families..my problems will seem wierd for a single person. The main thing is to just settle down properly seems you are in a rush ....saving for a mortgage and building in Nigeria all in one year might be a bit too much esp with childcare cost etc but then again na you know your pocket |
