The responses to this thread have been very negative. No I don’t have a green card. I’m working on one but the process has gotten very complicated that I’m just contemplating cutting my losses. The attitude on this thread is different from my high school friends who schooled here then went back. Most of them are positive, but some of them are more privileged than I do, so maybe they are not seeing the reality of the country.
BSc + MBA + 2Years + Soft skills in abundance hopefully in 8 Year is not exactly what i'll class as a loss
TravelRe: Moving Back To Nigeria From USA by DisGuy(mod):
BluFlyBoy:
Coming back would be a one way trip. I don’t yet have permanent resident status.
In that case, I'll strongly suggest you rekindle your networks especially your mates with privileged background

Stay around here NL (can be depressing I know) but really useful like any other social media tool to guage the pulse of the people/country.
Check relevant sections like Career-Especially old posts- not like used to be some few years ago- hint hint, Properties, Business and Travel.

blank:
@OP, can you explore moving to Australia or Canada? They have pretty decent entry requirements and the standards are similar to what you get in US.
and I'll also urge you to consider this very seriously !!!

I WILL ADVISE THAT YOU DONT JUMP INTO CONCLUSIONS AND PUT ALL THE DETAILS ON SOCIAL MEDIA! WHAT IF YOU WERE WRONG?

THIS HAS HAPPENNED TO ME BEFORE. ON GETTING TO THEIR OFFICE THEY CONFIRMED MY BALANCE WAS STILL INTACT.

THERE ARE TIMES THE READERS AT THE GATE GO MALFUNCTIONING.

THIS IS A BUSINESS. THOUGH I DO NOT HAVE ANY STAKES THERE, BUT I FEEL IT WHEN BUSINESSES ARE WRONGLY MALIGNED ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

YOU MAY BE RIGHT AND YOU COULD BE WRONG. PLEASE WAIT TILL THEY RESPOND BEFORE PASSING A JUDGEMENT.
if the readers are malfunctioning then they are not taking the business serious enough, they should also have a site where people can review the accounts and journeys

h/she is only asking for a refund/explanation- since November!

$2000 should be enough for a solo 1-2 months holiday to see and feel the pulse of the country business and employment
CelebritiesRe: Maureen Okpoko's Car Stolen, Duped By Estate Agent by DisGuy: 2:30pm On Dec 04, 2017
skuki123:
Popular Nollywood actress Maureen Okpoko has lost her most-cherished possession weeks to Christmas.

The actress said the Toyota Corolla, she parked in front of the house in Surulere, Lagos, was stolen in the early hours of Sunday the 3rd of December 2017.

Here is how she narrated her ordeal on FB;

“What a sad beginning of the month of December; my car was stolen in the early hours of the 3rd of December, 2017. “Trying to think straight; the joy of the Lord is my strength.”
Speaking with The Nation, the actress disclosed that her spirit has been asking her to leave her present residence but said she could not achieve that, as she was duped in earlier in the year, while trying to get a new apartment.

“I am very low in spirit,” she said.

“My spirit has been speaking to me about this place. I would have moved out, but I was duped while looking for an apartment. The car was parked outside and nobody saw them as it was taken away.

“But we have reported to the right authority”, she added.

AgricultureRe: Nigeria Will Start Exporting Yams To Europe In June 2017 – Agric Minister, Ogbeh by DisGuy: 1:07pm On Dec 04, 2017
Just over 200 tonnes of yam have been exported to Europe and America since the scheme was launched in June - a fraction of the 60 million tonnes produced every year.

More than 30% of Nigeria's yams rot away every year because of poor preservation.

You all will not understand the joy I feel right now, having to watch her cry to sleep every night, because of the the pain she had to endure for almost 2 years.
I saw a genuine smile on her face for the first time in a long time.

She's still on the treatment but the miracle is too much for me to contain.
Thanks to everyone that contributed to this success story.

Former Director General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Ita Ekpenyong has reacted to his failed arrest by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), over alleged involvement in arm purchase for the Nigerian Military. An Unnamed source close to the former DGSS told Vanguard
Who reacted? Ita or an unamed source close to him?

Nigerian journalists/

moderators shouldn't be pushing stories from unknown sources with misleading titles!

Many of us are so medically fit, and some have not been to the hospital in the past 5 years, so we really do not think that we could fall ill or get involved in an accident abroad that may require medical treatment or repatriation back to Nigeria to get treatment. We all travel with only “flex & shopping” money.

I think it's mainly about how credit is built/calculated in different countries.... lets not too get personal

Seems in USA everything is tied to the credit card, whilst in EU you can get finance or credit directly from the seller

You can buy car/furniture/high cost items from a dealer and he will provide the finance... that counts towards your profile, same way your income/regular wages, you expenses and incomings
You can rent a car without credit cards what that about lol you're just paying> got a car in Texas for two days with just a debit card

You're literally a 2nd class citizen without one in the west. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant.
I don't even know what part if your statement to respond to first.. undecided

My only advice is to be very prudent with your credit card if you have one, i know people that collect it spend on it make full payment then cut the card up into pieces just to avoid temptation cheesy

That's assuming lalasticlala even gets 3hours off cheesy

I think for Holidays in Nigeria 10-14days will do

5days to unpack
5-7days to settle in and unplug

The problem is you probably are in a rush, right? You wanna rush through your MSc in a year?
Weldone, come to Chemistry and use 3-4 years on it.
You’re even lucky.

Adeleke is not your problem, it’s the calendar for last session that got delayed and all.

You know the step it takes before your results gets to the senate right?

Faculty - because - PGSCHOOL - Senate.

Just chill. You’ll graduate.

Don’t assassinate people’s character cuz of your Haste. You want to conclude your postgraduate degree in a year? Sorry o.

Just pay your school fees and wait for your results to be ready.

And best still take down this thrash you posted here.
You don't have a problem studying Msc advertised as 18months for 4years?

How was the calendar for last year delayed? cant believe people have absorb all the thrash in the world as 'normal'...were they students informed about any new calendar?

so I decided to visit a Nigerian family I met while on a train I took Liverpool Street Station on Monday who invited me to their home. They made me a feast, chai!. I finally ate my first naija food (apart from indomie) since my arrival.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the food, sorry! Its all in my tummy now!
Just goes to show not everyone is a jackass like those that refuse to pick their relatives at the airport after agreeing to.

Still dont understand why people do this, at worse arrange a cab/uber to the house if the drive is tedious

Even though I live in America, there is something I so much love about London that I cant even explain. I think its just the historical feel about it. Europe in general if you ask me.
That's interesting, I also like the fact EU countries have their character- You can distinguish them largely based on their layout and architecture. Ask afam4ever he hates Eu for these their 'old' buildings but prefers the shiny box architecture of NY and co lol
