apparently people in Lagos voted for Atiku shocked beats me dead o!

the pdp primaries werent that transparent, wel thats their business but Yaradua will come out tops in a proper election anyway.

just imagine pat utomi with no governors or senate member from his party(whats the name of his party again?) he just campaigned alone with mainly website backers who can't be bothered to vote

Frank let me get this straight, the club has been incorporated as a company right or is the club operating within the company you have set up.
I am not good with following the yahoo group message it sends me the digest but the info is mixed as i am not sure which information is recent e.t.c
ive been following the thread too, still dazed myself  undecided

frankiriri:
The club has been registered. But my company which is also a member of the club has. And since the only way for an unregistered body to buy shares is to buy in  the names of the individual members we are using the club as a proxy. the company will appoint the recently elected members of the clubs governing council as it's officers in respect of all the transactions relating to the club.
E.g we are in the process of opening accounts for the club with Intercontinental bank, so the company will appoint the officers as the signatories to that account.
which club? the facta non verba or betta investment club
your company is a member of the investment club?

is your company also the investment club or members of your company are involved with the investment club?
hows the proper website going for this investment club?

@ all, are you planing on joining the investment club as in drop the name 'facta non' or be one of the clubs in the 'company' like betta investment
sorry guys i think im a bit dyslexic, i have my blonde moments wink

obong:
Enlighten me!Must have missed the countless reports of kidnappings for ransom in the West by militant groups.

are you aware of the separatist movements in both spain and britain that have festered for years? yet these places are always presented as safe havens and romantic spots. they isolate the problem and present a clean view to the world. in fairness the same should apply to nigeria. the ND problem is in small pockets of the ND, and frankly it is not as dangerous as the IRA in britain or the Bath (spelling?) in spain that bomb innocent citizens. as least the ND target specific groups and can be predictable

this nonsense about making nigeria out to the be the heart of darkness is clearly racist and betrays their motives. the sad part is many of the posters on this site are so ignorant and uneducated that they can't even see that very clear message
if you have access to NTA you will also notice that they never show riots, protests, hungry people, they always "isolate the problems and present a clean view to the world" wink
why do we always expect other TV centre to present us like some holy people?

sensationalizing is part of the news by the way afterall we see it in the sun newspaper with their impeccable source who always begs anonymity; frank nwanker jnr has still not showed the world the evidence he got from his own research at least if CNN wont show it NTA will

Danfo, i'll know you are 'reading' straight from a book ,ive read the book also grin very good answers though.

nosa101, thats the nigerian situation, how exactly will a graduate in biochemistry convince someone about their desire to work in a bank undecided i mean people want to become engineers/doctors right from junior school and after several years in uni studying something they love and probably good at they apply for bank jobs usually with no conversion courses or training sad priority should be given to accounting, banking and finance students tongue. i know engineers are number crunchers too

These systematic racism will continue until we sort out our education system, labour laws and also re-programme the IT and nysc schemes. most students in nigeria dont not have acess to relevant work experience whereas an indian can easy write about his several years working for patel and ghupta off liecense in mangement positions. remeber those job ads with 5year min work experience and no more than 22years old wink

razorr whats the smell like in your office grin
Career › Re: Why Are The Indians Taking All Our Jobs Away From Us In Our Own Country? by DisGuy: 4:37pm On Jun 06, 2007
all these people that read economic textbooks and spit what they read without understanding it sef. what in this world are you think.

why do you think australia, canada, uk and some other countries have immigration point or some form of hsmp type of schemes. dont you know they are protecting their own citizens?

if a company goes out to hire 'only indians' that is blatant racism!!
Business › Re: The New VAT Rate Of 10% by DisGuy: 3:59pm On Jun 06, 2007
well nigeria had the lowest vat rate in ecowas apparently and this was seen as unfair considering some had vat in the region of 15%. so in line with ecowas they increased it to 10%. Now hopefully the citizens will be more demanding! you should be able to shout/put pressure on your local government chairmen ' they must provide us with better servies afterall we are paying for it!!

Super Eagles coach, Berti Vogts, has terminated his contract with Nigeria after the Nigerian FA defaulted on key areas of the contract agreed with the German last February.
they are very good at that arent they?

Wary about the poor reputation of the NFA, Berti's lawyers had drawn up a water-tight contract containing get-out clauses to ensure his protection from the NFA's now notorious inefficiency."

Business › Re: Lagos Imposes Levy On Generator Owners! by DisGuy: 12:41am On May 31, 2007
some people are advocating for federalism. . . this is exactly what the suffering masses will get

A directive from the government to some manufacturers, which was obtained exclusively by our correspondent on Monday, gave manufacturers 14 days to effect the payment or face a penalty of N200,000.

The directive said owners of generators of 10-40KVA capacity would pay N25,000 while those with 40KVA and above would pay N50,000 as testing fees.

However, manufacturers have kicked against the levy.

“The new levy will definitely worsen the cost of production in the country,” the Director-General, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Mr. Jide Mike, said in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Monday.

Nigeria, the biggest economy in West Africa, relies heavily on standby generators to power its industries, a situation that has raised the cost of production in the country.

“It is not our making that we have to rely on generators. The government has to provide enough power supply to discourage the use of generators,” Mike added.

The spokesperson, Lagos State Ministry of Environment, Mr. Fola Adeyemi, when contacted on the phone, declined to comment on the policy.

But the directive said the test would commence on all registered generators from June 2007.
It reads, “Generators that emit carbon dioxide beyond 10 per cent must be repaired by the owners within seven days.
“Failure to do so shall attract penalty fees of N5,000 per day until repairs are made.
“Generators with emission of carbon dioxide measuring 20 per cent and beyond shall be shut down immediately.”

Energy cost arising from the use of generators contributes more than 60 per cent to the cost of production in Nigeria, according to Mike.

In spite of assurances to raise power supply to 10,000MW, little has been achieved as only about 3,200MW is currently being generated, according to officials from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria.

Besides, high oil prices have made the use of generators unprofitable, Mike said.

“The manufacturing sector is still striving to produce. It is not well with the sector,” Mike stressed.
He added that the decision by the state government to introduce the levy would draw back the rate of industrialisation.
