not easy

have you seen the environment you will be working in?
Politics › Stay At Home,I Have Work To Do- Yar'adua by DisGuy(op): 6:22pm On Jun 15, 2007
Barely 24 hours after informing delegation of well-wishers from Kaduna State that he would have preferred if they stayed back home, President Umaru Yar‘Adua, on Thursday cancelled further solidarity visits to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President, also appealed to all well-wishers to remain in their states to allow him concentrate on his job.

The President made this appeal in a message to Nigerians, which he titled ”There is work to be done.”

Admitting that he had within the last two weeks received similar delegations that were at the Villa to congratulate him, Yar‘Adua urged other people with the same intention to put off their visits to a more favourable time.

He noted that it would be more preferable for him to visit them in their states in his capacity as the President.

Yar’Adua also urged Nigerians to work hard towards the realisation of the plan to place the country among the top 20 global economies by 2020.

The statement reads in part, ”I have in the last two weeks been receiving various delegations from across the country; all coming to congratulate and felicitate with me on my recent inauguration and assumption of office.

”While I appreciate this great outpouring of affection and the pledges of support for which I feel humbled, I must say that there is so much work to do in our country today and I will like to concentrate on the crucial task of repositioning our country for peace, sustainable development and prosperity.

”I therefore plead with other delegations who intend to call on me to express their best wishes and support to reschedule their plans for a more auspicious time.”

denex:
Well, I'm afraid people do not really know that the culture of the police PARADING suspects was borne out of an intent to help the public to identify them so that anyone who had any evidence against them, or knew any other crime they had taken part in, would come forward.
That is why it is more common among armed robbers and criminals who operate under hidden identities.

Tafa Balogun was not paraded to the best of my knowledge. He was appearing in court when journalists got pictures of him.

Parading suspects is not done for the sake of embarrassing the suspect as Keyamo has believed, it is to help the public recognise a previously unknown criminal and allow them bring forward any evidence they may have or report any other crimes the suspect may have committed which the police is not aware of.

Imagine asserting somebody like Obasanjo, Gani Fawehinmi or Kanu Nwankwo and parading him. So also it would make no sense to be parading Ehindero or Bola Tinubu.

Explosion rocks Osun, kills one
An explosion on Thursday rocked the Osun State government secretariat, causing the death of one person while another sustained injury. The incident occurred inside a Peugeot 505 saloon car with registration number, Ondo AL 850 NND at about 11:45 am in front of the state Ministry of Water Resources, a distance of about 200 metres from the office of the state governor. Though Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola was not in the office when the explosion occurred, his deputy, Erelu Olusola Obada was around. Security was reportedly beefed up immediately after, as workers, staff and visitors alike scampered for safety. Both the state Commissioner of Police, Sulaiman Falai and the state Director of State Security Services (SSS) raced to the scene of the incident for proper co-ordination of security arrangements. Falai told newsmen that two of the three persons inside the vehicle had come out to off-load materials when the explosion occurred.

i am really irritated with both sides. NFA as we all know is full of incompetent, inefficient useless vermin (yes VERRRRRMIN)thy all should be xterminated out of the glass house.as for bertie his previous work experience has never impressed so i wnder y Globacom agreed to pay his salary. we should stop settling for yama-yama oyinbos when our own can do the job.UP SIASIA and EGUAVEON
well nigerians wanted oyinbo so they paid for oyinbo (please i know people on this site that also asked for oyinbo so dont come at me o!!)

to be honest mikel obi should still be playing for the female U21 team, the guy is not good enough! he might aswell retire from international football his mission has been accomplished to play in obodo oyinbo. Instead of sitting on the bench they should send him and anichebe to the u21 team!

Business › Re: The New VAT Rate Of 10% by DisGuy: 2:59pm On Jun 13, 2007
• The companies are exploiting us. 5% increase does not justify the new rates e.g Gala N40 before. It means Vat was 5/105 * 40 = N1.91. Cost of Gala (without VAT) 100/ 105 *40 = N38.09
Vat @ 10% = 10/100 * 38.09 = 3.81
New price of gala (plus new VAT ) = 3.81 + 38.09 = N41.9.
So why is gala going for N50huh Why are they rounding it up? When we ought to be using coins. MTN , Celtel and others are guilty also.
na gala dey worry you? 10% in nigeria you don't need calculator, just add N10 grin

florishn:
imagine biscuit is now 7.00 well what they have done l don't think they can change it let us pray that our social amenities in Nigerian will be OK imagine where l reside they give us light once in awhile if ran fall all the wire go fall with the rain am fed up l know by God grace everything is going to change for good
na biscuit dey worry you too? yea things will surely change for good now they'll have more money to repair roads and electricty cheesy

Guse:
Even MR BIGGS has joined the list. A triple delight cake sold for N300 is now N400. Dont they need fresh graduates to calculate the 10%vat increase?
