I got an offer for an unpaid internship in a museum as a business performance analyst, is it worth it considering my interest are in investment and banking together with few years banking experience in nigeria and am almost done with my pogram presently considering moving back in 2 weeks to start job hunting. Your feedback would highly be appreciated
Valuable work experience IMO (if you can afford it) something for your CV and networking- fancy title too
Ask for travel/lunch expenses if you can

735i:
Give them the middle finger bro...
1.) It's unrelated to your field of specialization...
2.) It's unpaid!!!
You bring thousands of pounds into their economy and a year after....they still want you to do unpaid work? angry
Are you a philanthropist? Or you run a charity?
How will you survive here with unpaid work? Even those in paid employment scratch....so how will you do it?
I'm only here until I write the CFA exams in December.... I will definitely leave 2 days afterwards!!
angry cold people, cold country angry
it's not compulsory, He applied for it
many students applying for studies in the UK especially after the cancellation of the PWS visa ARE (should be) aware of working limitations in the UK/EU

guess the car is not good for nigerian road...served me well well, just regular maintenance

Bootylicious:
It can't be delayed but can hasten the delivery date by opting for CS and you choose the date you want.
God bless you! you've spared me! I was actually thinking how silly/immature my comment was over night-- another sleepless night of massage
AutosRe: How Much Does This Car Cost? by DisGuy: 7:26pm On Oct 18, 2014
That's my first car!!

Too small how? is captain obese? is he going to be carrying 3 other obese passengers everyday?

206 is a perfect first car for students, single guys or small family! balanced cornering too

If 'image' is your thing then you might want to get a big bulky car and complain about the cost of maintenance in private grin
PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Governor's House Built By Former Ekiti Governor by DisGuy:
okeybig:
shocked the building is not befitting for governor's house, the architectural design is too poor
not beffiting as in...not huge enough? what happens in the gocernor's house, why do nigerian governors spend so much building these offices anyway?

I agree with you the design is poor but it might be practical!

@Disguy: I know,i deferred for october,as classes starts Nov 3rd.
Is is compulsory for one to hold cash as I don't want to be hassled by our Yeye immigration dudes at d airport.
Hold minimum cash for your own use, you have no business with nigerian immigration, your papers are legit...they are only there to check papers not beg for money

Morning all, pls I will like to know how best to get a cheap accommodation upon arrival before scouting for a permanent place as a friend at last minute messed up my housing arrangement even when he knows I depart tomorrow. How's the student life at salford, the living cost and possible part time employment for Msc students
Thanks.
Justwise,anyone waiting.
your best bet will be the low budget hotels- you should be scouting for accommodation from Nigeria! school is in session already, so you'll be scrapping the bottom of the barrel now...salford has a lot of new development coming up, lots of investment and the schools had a massive drive to attract students, cost of living is fair..but as with student town theres a premium to some services though still cheaper than the capital...you'll be competiting with thousands of others students for part time jobs esp thouse that arrived earlier

adaobi123:
Why are there so many young international students ? huh

Quite a few are under 18.
many countries go straight from school to uni...no A-level years

from secondary school - university; some do their entrance exams before their final year.

You'll notice some cant cope with the independence...some struggling with style of teaching in the uk as they dont have teachers chasing them for assignment and attendance...etc etc
FamilyRe: Awaiting Fathers: Lets Share Our Experience by DisGuy: 1:14pm On Oct 09, 2014
my 'friend' wants me to ask the following questions:

1) Is it possible to bring delivery date forward or delay it?

Like say expected Delivery date is gonna co-incide with erm one Formula 1 race happening next year and he's plannign to attend with the boyz

2) Which is better travel before expected delivery date and hopefully arrive back on time or travel immediately after delivery: without 'Aye' on your back- which one is less socially/morally abhorrent cheesy

Within a spate of some 3 weeks, two botched finacial transactions for security hardware hit the Nigerian and south african airwaves

If you've got 3 job openings that you want to fill, at least put 2 smart people in and then you can give the 3rd position to you village member
Knowing my people, the 3rd employee will threaten the other 2; constantly refering to his otuke connections and high chiefs, withhold paper work, go missing when major decisions are to be made-- the other two will get the inco bug or just honorably resign..

Chaii, all these sweet talks about the UK, una wan make I waka come back aha smiley

To the new MSc students, it is not too early to start planning what you would like to do after your program (either staying back legally in the UK or porting to the next level). That 15-18 months visa you are holding will expire soon, yes, soon! Time seems to be faster is that part of the world grin The chances of getting a job back in the UK are really slim, this is a reality and not in anyway trying to discourage anyone. Miracles do happen.

As for me, even before I got there, I knew I would be leaving the UK post-MSc - so I didn't bother applying for jobs.

Best of wishes to you all.

The topic of my short sermon is: Draw Your Future Plans Now.
too true, I'll advise people to draw their plans right from Lagos sef if possible!! Plan A, Plan B, Plan C

plan your re-entry into naija market or seek opps in the Middle East, Aus, etc
