You have not seen wealthy young girls still living at home with their parents. My cousin is a good example, she has a good Oil Company Job with good pay, but she still lives at home with her parents....... come to think of it my cousin has not bought a car yet and this babe makes close to 12million Naira annually, so it does happen.

I think people should always try to do things themselves...from applying for visa, booking tickets, hotels etc laptop with internet, visa/mastercard is all you need..

Or just try being friendly with your classmates. Instead of being 'the black guy with earphones that's always frowning' (trust me, I've been there before), you could try starting conversation with someone in class. That's the easiest way to make friends.

Getting a job is always difficult. But if you can't speak Dutch, you will NOT get a part-time job. Focus on learning the language first...

Unfortunately, if cash is tight there's very little international students can do legitimately. I guess that's why they ask for proof of funds before granting visas.
