BusinessRe: Nairaland Dragon's Den - Business Funding, Matters Arising. by DisGuy:
databoy247: As a continuation of the existing thread https://www.nairaland.com/1247249/nairaland-dragons-den-get-funding/3#15546437

I wish to state that the way people come here to advertise that they need businesses to fund and end up doing nothing is kinda interesting. They talk alot here and end up doing nothing. If you are interested in funding an idea or existing business then you should try to meet with the entrepreneur, prepare some paperwork, invite the person for a physical interview, etc and then you fund the business.

What i see here are so-called investors who are looking for a business venture or idea to hijack and own.

If you are a serious investor, please introduce yourself here, What you do for a living, amount of cash available for investment and your location. If you are a lawyer, please tell us what it takes for a proper agreement to hold and what benefits both parties (investor and entrepreneur).

Business plans and start up ideas can also be placed here to. I have a plan but when i noticed the games investors are playing, i decided to start setting up the biz by my self. Its up to an extent and i will continue further, if as an investor you are interested in partnering with me, then i can drop my business idea here too. And we will come to an agreement AFTER a lawyer has made us understand what we stand to benefit from the business both as in investor and as an entrepreneur. I don't need no so-called investor hijacking my business and owning it because he invested some money. So let the games begin grin grin cool
considering the society i can see your point...

but then i find most of your comment laughable

and then fund the business- you're almost assuming every idea should/would get funding?

about hijacking ideas-- seems you havent seen the original dragons den, you want to hijack someone's money but you dont really want them to ask you serious questions about your ideas- it's 50/50, right ofF the bat you dont trust anyone with your ideas, but you want their money and perhaps get a chance to work with them >insert expletives here<

lawyer this lawyer that, are lawyers going to tell you how profitable your ideas would be? who is paying for the lawyer or is he going to ask for a percentage?

we see the reason ibeto n co dont want to list one the nse, 'apparently they dont want people overtaking their one man business

PS: admittedly i have not been following the initial thread after the first few
CareerRe: How You Can Save More Of Your Earnings As An Entry Level Professional In Lagos by DisGuy: 11:16am On May 15, 2013
cheesy
And finally, 'make sure you have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience'. This was the single factor why he had to start as an entry level employee as opposed to an experienced hire despite his numerous qualifications. And then, 'know the numbers'. This simply means know what people earn in your sector and weigh out what the benefit and trade-off of every decision will be, so you can avoid what in local parlance is known as ‘One Chance’.
PoliticsRe: Dangote Secures $4.25 Billion Loan For His Proposed Refinery by DisGuy: 11:34pm On May 14, 2013
sainty2k3: Its been sold to him indirectly, cos with that project he'll rules Nigeria oil sector. What am saying in essence is this ' if one man can build a refinery why can't we *as a country* properly fix the ones we have and build new ones if necessary
He's not building it himself it's with investors, there are groups building refineries in the south east since, no one accuse them of trying to control the country's oil sector

payless: They've beaten the crap out of him before gathering evidence against him. What about if they found out later he did not do anything wrong? Jungle justice needs to stop in Nigeria. It is called not guilty until proven guilty.
think about it, nigerian police need all the circumstantial evidence they can to cover up their incompetency, just like other security agents up and down the country, after killing him, they can put all the blame on him and you know how the press works, they feed of these kinda of press release like sharks...

johnwell: After all my research, I still consider 2004 or 2005 Audi A6 (V6) 3.2L quattro avant-wagon as my 1st choice seconded by the "all road quattro avant" in terms of load space, power, speed & stability? How reliable is this ride?

I need it for my weekly fruit (pineapple) supply business.

It will embark on total of 10 hrs (to & fro) weekly journey, will it serve the purpose? How economical is it? Are the parts available?
Mr. Siena and other audi fans please help me out.
not much a a research then...tongue

it wil do the task and more but for this purpose its akin to using a tractor to mow a lawn!

EventsRe: Planning A Cross Cultural Wedding Reception-ideas Needed by DisGuy: 5:47pm On May 08, 2013
Good morning,
I'm American and my guy is Yoruba. We're planning a wedding ceremony and reception this fall. I am seeking advice, ideas, suggestions on two things:
1) How to fuse traditions from both cultures at the reception to give guests from both cultures a peek at the other culture (Southern and Yoruba). This is what we have planned so far - - We plan on changing into traditional clothes at some point during the reception. We will play a mix of American and Nigerian music. And I'm surprising him with a Nigerian themed cake that I saw online where the couple is in Native dress and sitting on luggage or pillows. It will be the groom's cake. Also I would like to serve both Southern and Nigerian food. That brings me to my next request.
2) Any NLers living in Georgia or upper Florida (Tallahassee or Jacksonville) who can refer a good Nigerian (Yoruba) caterer?
I greatly appreciate your help!
ignorant me, didnt know americans had culture- anything thats not traditional african will do
