sorry i cant be of much help

I always encourage people based on commensensical approach, honesty and details and even that doesn't always cut it perhaps another application or another destination

one thing i've come to realise following this thread and others is applicants intention and view point of the officers
many people have businesses that are largely unregistered/undocumented, they have incomes or incomings that they are aware of but cant proof, applicants should realise these officers are not mind readers and they come from background where document proof things. yes we are rich, plenty money in the bank, big mansion in abuja and calcutta, my uncle is this and that but is it on paper? why is your salary account the same as your business account and saving account.

Its always a difficult job hence why they're magnanimous enough to allow reviews and appeals unlike other countries

it's always a difficult to take a rejection but its not the end of the world reapply to counter their reasons or look elsewhere if you're in need of a well deserved break
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Insurance Sector Shares: Analysis Wanted (AIICO, NEM, Allie, Custodian) by DisGuy: 8:58pm On May 02, 2013
Insurance Sector dominates the list of companies failing to sumbit thier 2011,2012 results
The list of defaulters which is contained in the recent X-Compliance document released late last week by the Exchange showed that Daar Communications Plc and Ikeja Hotels Plc will have to part with a sum of N3.4million each as fine. The document listed thirty-two (32) as guilty of failing to present their results within the stipulated time limit with John Holt’s name appearing twice.

The insurance sector dominated the list as 14 insurance companies fell prey. Linkage Assurance received the highest fine of N3.3million while the likes of Equity Assurance, Standard Alliance, Mutual Benefits Assurance, Great Nigeria Insurance and African Alliance Insurance will have to pay N3million each. Perhaps this is a confirmation that all is not well with the insurance industry in Nigeria.
Think about it

Maybe the NSE is also mislead the world

PoliticsRe: Infrastructure Bank To Fund N400bn Lagos Rail Project by DisGuy: 8:30pm On May 02, 2013
The Infrastructure Bank, which was opened in 1992, was initially named Urban Development Bank. The bank was established to bankroll infrastructure development in Nigeria. Meanwhile, an engineer with Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) revealed that the first phase of the Lagos light rail project will be ready for commuters' use by the end of June, this year. The engineer, who preferred anonymity, said: "The work is in three phases.
wtf; Nigeria home of the brave grin

why would an Engineer prefer anonymity? is he a politician?
PoliticsRe: Infrastructure Bank To Fund N400bn Lagos Rail Project by DisGuy: 8:29pm On May 02, 2013
striker07: what we should ask is this? is the amount high or not too high for the project? Do Lagos have to borrow all the money for the contract sum considering its huge monthly revenue?
it also has a huge population that needs to be catered for; you cant spend all your income on one particular infrastructure

Save us all the hassle and allow TV stations(not NTA) tour the areas that have been secured byt jtf,mtf

this is standard practise, the JTF should be using the media effectively to be on their side not just using recycled pictures and making press release of abu, baba, danladi arrested or killed without any evidence

6 JTF operatives have been killed, what happened to saying their names? Cant Nigerians mourn their heroes or put a face to these people fighting for us?
PoliticsRe: Protest Over Death Of Nigerian In UK Prison Custody by DisGuy: 9:51am On May 01, 2013
As with all deaths in custody, the Independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation.

Writing online, Daniel Okpla, a spokesman for the Idoma community, has raised a number of questions about his death.

A High Commission spokesman confirmed it was aware of Mr Umale’s death but would not answer any further questions.
perhaps the decision was made before, just unknown to the so called spokesman who appear to have be more interested in making noise than result

the first point of call should have been a proper lawyer, an MP, FOI, IPCC not the Nigerian high Commission, thats asking for too much from Oga dem

No Justwise, you re not getting the gist clearly,

She earns about 120k monthly totaling abt 1.4 million per annum, plus the balance of abt 3.6 million in allowances staggered throughout the months of the year.(It doesnt mean she has all that money in her account and that the money come in as a bulk payment) The payment for allowances narrates in her bank statement as one coming from her employer (just like the narration for her monthly salary

This sytle being used by her employer is known to the UK embassy as most of their staff travel to UK alot both for personal visits and official trainings). It doesn't mean she has every of the 3.6 million in allowances paid at a go- That's what i mean.

The main issue is her previous refusal b4 she got this work....2 issues- she claimed a trader status (majorly refused on that note) and was to be sponsored by her aunt. She was single then and still is now.

Hope it will not count against her? Btw between the last 2 yrs when she was refused and date, she's gone to SA and Dubai like twice each.

Thank you.

Concerning her documentation- she has her monthly payslips, confirmation letter, letter of permission to travel to the UK from HR, letter from her employer introducing her to the Consulate as their staff and other documents.
[/quote]The new application would be considered on its own merit, they understand quite well circumstances change, as long as she wasn't refused earlier for forged documentation

the impact on her savings and ties to her country is where i think she'll need to cover very well during the application

Student drags EFCC to court for character assassination
On April 29, 2013 · In News
7:54 pm

Enugu – A university student, Mr Ifeanyi Okoye, on Monday dragged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to a Federal High Court in Enugu for alleged character assassination.

Okoye, of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), filed the suit alleging character assassination and a breach of his fundamental human rights.

The counsel to the plaintiff, Mr Ralph Nnamu, said his client was arrested by the EFCC at a cyber café where he was sourcing information for his postgraduate project.

Nnamu said that on Jan. 21, 2011, operatives of the EFCC stormed the cyber café and whisked his client away to unknown destination.

He said that the operatives alleged that his client defrauded one foreign firm located in London, Global Ventures, of N10 million.

“It is unfortunate that up till now the EFCC is yet to furnish this court with clear evidence showing that my client truly committed the crime he was accused of.

“He has been going to the cyber café for his project work since his enrolment as a post graduate student.

“I don’t know where the EFCC sourced their information which they relied upon to prosecute my client,” he said.

The counsel to the EFCC, Mr Ethelbert Onunze, said it was a case that did not require much legal tussle.

He said the case was simple and straight forward as far as cases associated with cyber crime were concerned.

“The operatives of the EFCC acted on an alert by a concerned citizen who had been furnishing the commission with the activities of the plaintiff at the cyber café on weekly basis.

“The accused heinously defrauded the foreign firm of the sum of N10 million, claiming that he will supply them with raw materials for production of textiles.

“It was at the point of collecting the sum of N700,000 meant for the transportation of the said raw materials that the EFCC arrested him.

“The accused never worked or dealt with any firm here in Nigeria that was associated with the production of textile materials,” he said.

The presiding judge, Justice M.L. Shuaibu, adjourned the case till Oct. 9 for further hearing. (NAN)

adjourned till october? huh?

I mean dont lawyers themselves see a problem with this?
Are the judges very lazy or are the lawyers are just looking for ways to earn more?

CareerRe: Why Are Our Fresh Graduates DELUSIONAL About Salary by DisGuy: 1:59pm On Apr 28, 2013
AjanleKoko: Agreed.
I have often wondered why the salary cannot be told to the candidate, or even advertised with the job as it is done in developed countries.
Some of the excuses given by HR people range from confidentiality to security. However, I don't see why you can't tell a candidate what the pay is, right at the interview. Same goes for entry level candidates.

The current practice gives an impression that salary is negotiable. So the candidate goes into the chat with high hopes of getting whatever they believe would be a good deal.
As they say around here, Gbam!

if you're recruiting fresh graduates for entry level roles why are you expecting bags of experience when the companies themselves don't have openings for undergraduates IT placements

start searching for NGO dealing with HIV before you get back; if you are thinking of going back

contact them for assistance- accommodation and information, better you have things sorted out a bit before landing

Call them; ask questions
mail them to get more information about the locations in the state you would be staying
