Not completely true. Osoba constructed some roads. When Trunk A roads like the Lagos - Abeokuta expressway were bad but partly motorable (it is worse now), we could at least pass through Adalemo on to Lafenwa to Idi-Iroko where Canaanland and major schools were.

Under Daniels, internal roads (likely done by Osoba) were somewhat motorable. From Joju to Ijoko to Baptist. Even Atan was partly motorable. Then it all went to shît.

The decay spread from the Lagos - Abeokuta road Obasanjo refused to fix and it caused the horrible traffic jams we had to endure going in and out of Otta daily, to school. The Lagos axis up to Alagbado,Kola and Meiran were just as horrible.

Daniel neglected it. And it got worse under the rest. But Osoba did something. Not very well, but he shouldn't be lumped with the incompetent OGD.

I get sha, Obaseki's performance has been somewhat lukewarm, but he's done well in certain areas, especially when you factor in the amount of debt that Oshiomhole left behind in the name of projects...Obaseki has done well stabilizing the state's fiscal position, and I believe Asue Ighodalo would leverage on what he did to make things better.

Speaking English is no guarantee for anything, but I'd take my chances with the candidate with a largely unblemished character and smarts.

Every time you read the overview, it reads thus: ICT (Telecommunications). Heck! Flutterwave, for example, isn't even a telecommunications company, but it straddles ICT as a subset and the Financial Sector.

You know what, are Flutterwave, Opay, Moniepoint etc ICT or Financial Services companies? It's a simple A or B. But if they are both, you've answered your own quizzing.

Agriculture fluctuates just like others.

IT combines with the financial sector, sometimes. For example, OPAY, Moniepoint, Flutterwave e.t.c straddle both sectors, and the GDPs are combined to be for total ICT.

I don't know if you just read the overviews for each quarter or you're googling on the go for this argument, but every NBS quarterly report has about 34 pages detailing the calculations and explanations for the intersection or overlapping of sectors.

You'd get it when you download the actual attached files which are PDFs and Google Spreadsheets.

ICT has been our strong point for years now. ICT being a condensation of subsectors. And the Service supersector (if I'd call it that) has been driving our economy for years. Sometimes even up to 70%. Every NBS report states this much. Do way more than quick searches in the heat of the moment.

I'm not googling on the go to debate this. My post history already shows I regularly and judiciously study these reports, not in the heat of arguments looking to one-up or have a gotcha moment.

It's the ICT sector. Not agriculture. ICT has been the biggest contributor to our GDP for years now. It's not the first time I have mentioned it on this thread. I did in late 2022 and 2023. I did not long ago when debating with some older seasoned economists. They were just as surprised too. I've been aggregating since 2021 particularly. Vital information when one is crafting a pitch deck for VCs and others.

I posted exact links to several quarterly NBS reports to back up my claims. Please open several such reports for each quarter in the last two years even to compare sectoral GDP contribution.

If the Nigerian government had its priorities right, since we are a mostly service economy and haven't laid the ground work to compete advantageously on the manufacturing front, we'd fund and craft policies which enable us operate better as a service economy.

Similar to trade deals which enable India act as a gig economy for outsourcing to the West. You should see GDP boosts for India from the gig sector too. You'd be impressed. Similar to deals the Philippines has with Oceania countries like Australia and New Zealand. It's a gig economy somewhat too.
The only other African country doing something close is Rwanda. And they don't even have the skilled labour like us.

One of the reasons I was excited when Osinbajo wanted to contest. That's why I had I high hopes for Minister Bosun. I hope he still delivers. These are two of the people who demonstrably understand these issues.

- Nigeria has the largest markets for these countries so in a trade war, they take a hit.
- Lagos is the startup capital of Africa.
- Lagos, with a GDP of $29 billion, has a more robust economy than about 12 African countries. Only Cairo surpassed Lagos recently.

You'd know all of these to be true if you spent your time away from eating Putin's excreta, and feeding your mind with intelligent information.

I hate to break it to you, man, but the IT sector (which fintech is a part of) has been the biggest contributor to our GDP since 2018. More so since 2022. Nigeria has been 60% based service economy since 2022. The U.S. over 70%. The fintech sector combines production and services. Without the fintech sector and other such related sectors, we'd be doing worse than we are now. My assertion is supported by the quarterly National Bureau of Statistics reports since 2021.

We should be thankful for fintech and the IT sector. I wish I could share an article I wrote about it for a foremost book club debating it with some seasoned socioeconomists late last year. Maybe I'd mention you somewhere else to share it.

In the last decade, more than 65% of all tech venture capital injections from foreign VCs to Africa have been into Nigeria.

Nigeria invariably controls the West African subregion, and West and Central African countries depend on Nigeria for their economic life force. No other African country has this much control.

BRICS is failing to take shape partly because Nigeria hasn't been onboarded. Nigeria gets onboard and you have most of Africa in the bag.

SubSaharan Africa literally depends on Nigeria's relative stability.

I could go on and on. Our internal socioeconomic failings regardless, your country is very powerful. I don't even think Tinubu realises how powerful Nigeria is when he gets on the negotiation table. I don't even think he knows he's Africa's 001.
