airmark:Let's even leave the federal government for a minute - and this isn't exempting it of any blame. Trunk B roads are horrible! Internal roads are a death trap, and it also contributes to inflation. Last December, Itsrm complained he bought four udara (because it's not African star apple or any apple at all) for #500 in Port Harcourt. Around the same period, a Tiv acquaintance from a remote part of Benue State where the fruit is in abundance mentioned it is wasting there. To get to Port Harcourt, you go through Benue > Cross River > Akwa Ibom > Rivers. Moving from the interiors of Benue to any part is hellish - horrible roads which would also ruin trucks. Somehow you get through and the connecting road to Cross River is bad. Cross River internal roads are horrible too. Making it to Akwa Ibom is a nightmare as the Calabar - Itu road is horrible. Between Uyo and Port Harcourt is a way better experience, and you'd easily move your way around Rivers. Imagine how cheap the fruit would be in Rivers if Benue and Cross River Trunks B and C roads were motorable... Yet Cross River and Benue indigenes and residents are very active online but do not hold both state governments just as accountable. It's about willpower. There's no excuse for us. |
BlueRayDick:Nobody is under obligation to hold the federal government responsible too, but we do it for public interest. The point is, for years our search beams have been ultra-focused on the Centre, and it works sometimes causing it to backtrack on some anti-people policies or shelve them all together. Governments at state and other levels should be held accountable too constantly. It depends on people active online in each state? It'd do a quick analysis you can go vet anywhere. There are 34 million people in Nigeria active on Facebook on the average monthly. That's more than the entire population of Ghana and about 100 times the total population of Iceland. Active users on Facebook alone! No Nigerian state has less than 100,000 active monthly Facebook users at the least. At the very least. Less than 10 percent are directly affiliated with any political party. We have the numbers even as far-flung as Kebbi to keep each state government on its toes and our criticisms enough to generate interest globally even if 20,000 of the (taking a rough estimate here) 100,000 Facebook users resident in Jigawa hold the state government accountable. It's about willpower. Ask internet users to vote for some entertainment program or comment on some happy-go-lucky online controversy and you'd realize the Kebbi you think is digitally an island has the estimated numbers online. |
vanitybutiwanti:What are you arguing about? How else would Niger State fund the #1 trillion plus budget if not through loans? You should see the debt record and antecedence of reckless borrowing before you go on the defence. You should know I wouldn't state these things without checking these anecdotes. Most of the criticisms of public officials are misplaced? You should have your head examined. This gaslighting, unearned hubris, and assumption of faux superior internal intelligence of how the governance system works is why people like Femi Adeshina are still the most despîsed persons to ever stride the corridors of power till date. |
OasisX:This should be criminal! I read about how he intends to fund it and it's loans with no IGR. At #1.01 trillion budget for Niger State alone, it's almost the combined 2025 budgets for Cross River, Osun, and Ekiti which are more viable based on the numbers. Why are we keeping mute on this? Social media should be on fire. Collective destinies are being mortgaged away. |
DissTroy:Update: 2025 State Budgets 1. Lagos - #3 trillion 2. Delta - #976 billion 3. Enugu - #971 bilion https://www.nairaland.com/8278586/governor-mbah-presents-record-971 He's budgeting about #850 billion for capital projects. The billions for 2024 gone with little to show. Enugu with about 140% of Anambra's budget. Are you asking questions, or state govenors don't deserve the stick too because they'd allegedly kill you for talking? 4. Akwa Ibom - #955 billion 5. Bayelsa - #689 billion 6. Katsina - #682 billion 7. Oyo - #678 billion 8. Anambra - #606 billion |
[quote author=OasisX post=133064535] ![]() .....let's hold Tinubu's balls damn hard to press more money fòr the Governors, afterall he causes the mess. Zamfara Governor dey use same official car as the President. Has a large entourage as the President, but still no need to hold him accountable coz Tilumbu cause it. LOL! desert Katsina with almost no IGR and where the only viable prospects are Buhari's 150 cows and the only positive development of importance in years was Buhari's Daura helipad budgeting more than Oyo and Anambra; budgeting more than Edo State by far. Yet we aren't asking questions. |
DissTroy:Update: 2025 State Budgets 1. Lagos - #3 trillion 2. Delta - #976 billion 3. Akwa Ibom - #955 billion 4. Bayelsa - #689 billion 5. Katsina - #682 billion 6. Oyo - #678 billion 7. Anambra - #606 billion The federal government budget at #9 trillion is only 3 times the budget Sanwoolu is proposing for Lagos. Do these budgets reflect the developments in each of the states? Ask questions. Or let's just focus on attacking the Centre while State Governors continue to plunder our wealth. |
Just a quick reminder that Niger Delta Governors have been presenting their 2025 budgets for weeks now 'quietly'. Akwa Ibom presented #955 billion today. Delta presented #932 billion two weeks ago and was upgraded to #976 billion this week without fanfare. Rivers would present before the end of the month or by the beginning of December. Notice how your favourite influencers for hire are not discussing it, and the states' executives and legislature are all chummies now with budgeted monies about to go Houdini? Each state with a budget of almost #1 trillion. Are you asking questions now? Are you digging into what the allocations for education and roads are? Are you concerned about the overhead costs which is a huge drain on our common patrimony? Notice how it's all hush hush from these guys? These are the real enemies truncating our developments even at state levels. Please go ask questions now. Get your influencer buddies who still care about not only their pockets to ask questions. I'm worried about the budget breakdowns for overhead cost. Ask questions now or all our "oyel money" would fund the luxury lifestyles of BBN girls. It's more than just Tinubu. |
Amoto94:That's the point: Sabotage happening right under the noses of the police is only possible because of police complicity. BH attacks keep happening sporadically and unchecked like Carter Efe's spittle while talking, in spite of the heavy military presence in the North. We've found that those attacks are deliberately allowed to happen by elements within the Military who also give Intel to BH. JFK's assassination was premeditated by the higher echelons of the CIA and Secret Service. Even this year, RFK Jnr mentioned names and dared them to sue him, but they haven't. Trump assassination attempt was allowed to happen. The Secret Service boss who was axed later admitted the SS knew about the shooter, knew he was odd and off yet they cleared him. The bunkering of oil installations in Nigeria has Nigeria's whole security apparatus complicit. Even Wike, his brashness regardless, caught some NSCDC bosses on camera who were aiding it. Everyone from the Niger Delta knows the Navy and the Army have cookies of bunkered oil and smuggled goods. The sabotage you are referring to, in spite of the police station within the vicinity, only happened because the police is complicit; or higher-ups who can dictate police actions and inactions. This, Amoto, is the point. |
Amoto94:If you are an ardent student of historical and contemporary global sociopolitics, you'd have realized all three cases of BH, JFK, and Trump have all been exposed to be DELIBERATE security lapses with machinations from top echelons of the government or shadow governments. ALL. |
joseph1832:Here's the link: https://me.budgit.org/?state=Edo. Create an account then sign in. I've been tracking on the platform every week since June 2018. You can filter for any state and LGA, and track projects too; including on TrackaNG. Once I'm through with tackling the HCDFT thing, I want to follow up on my LGA of origin. We got #354 million in July alone so the incumbent chairman has to explain if he doesn't budget for student bursaries, for example. He can no longer hide behind the state government cornering LG allocations. Attached is the FAAC for Edo State. You guys are eating good too so Obaseki has no excuse.

Today I had to do a presentation on the Host Community Development Trust Fund (HCDTF) of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), and the role of state governments (Niger Delta particularly) in cushioning the local socioeconomics. Expectedly, some state government pens-for-hire and apologists took offence at the salvos I fired at Niger-Delta State Governors and holding them responsible. They didn't even focus on the main issue which was the HCDTF. To embarrass them, I pulled up data from BudgIT and showed them comparative analyses I had done beforehand to back up my claims that state governors (ND governors especially) are mostly incompetent and the humongous amounts they receive do not tally with the developmental strides. Attached are the screenshots of the FAAC to the Rivers, Delta, and Akwa Ibom State Governments. If you are from the Niger Delta not holding your state governor accountable while heaping all of the blame at the feet of successive administrations of the Federal Government from GEJ to Tinubu, you are part of our problem. Look at the monthly allocations for these three states then give me any valid reason why any community in Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom should lack pipeborne water, electricity, or functional schools. Just one. #47 billion monthly. #33 billion monthly. #28 billion monthly. MONTHLY! But you excuse them? State governors are just as guilty as the federal government in the mess we are in. Don't exonerate them indirectly by looking away.

AbokiWam:Here's a more hands-on approach which would most likely be more effective and which I have used in the past and recommend to digitech-skilled persons I guide: - Use Facebook: Not the main Facebook app, but Facebook Lite. You can filter for keywords chronologically, demographically, and geographically with it. Most people don't know Facebook main app and Facebook web don't have these features. E.g "Remote data entry", " hiring data entry" and on and on. - Search on Twitter: Filter-search with the same keywords and chronologiically daily by clicking on the 'Latest' tab of the search results. If you are an entry level person, there's something I've discovered about LinkedIn a few years ago which some folks confirmed on Twitter when I shared my concern - most entry level and intermediate level jobs posted on LinkedIn are HRs/social media managers trying to grow their pages, not real jobs. You'd notice they mostly have Easy Apply and if you scroll to the bottom, it has you automatically following the pages. Some advanced level jobs too. The sign is mostly "Easy Apply" which doesn't reroute to their websites. Lastly, optimise your page. Facebook works. Your professional details (essentially what you do) should be your bio, not some hogwash like "Foodie. Likes Man. United. Messi till I dîe." Harsh, I know, but bio has just 150 characters so use it well. Optimise to showcase your professionalism and post about what you do at intervals which means deleting clutter from your page, including sharing needless things from pages or groups to your timeline. And even refusing some tags appearing on your timeline. When you make intelligent comments in Facebook groups and in the comment section of pages, curiosity would make people check out your profile. Let the first impression be what you do, not 'cruise'. That's not the demography you want - you're not an influencer. If 1000 view, 60 might strike up a private chat. That's how you get started. It works very well. |
BlueRayDick:I've always stated for years that Niger-Delta has no business depending on the federal government. Yes, for policies and all of that. But our local economies and infrastructure should reflect the humongous amounts we get. Akpabio and Amaechi alone got $2.4 billion combined from the FAAC in 2013 alone as Governors of Akwa Ibom and Rivers. What's the excuse? ---- Demand accountability from who? Bayelsa State which celebrates strong man politics? Where the most violent persons have the highest chances of being elected? Isn't it on this thread where people celebrate strong man politics even in the state Bayelsa split from? A state where the Governor, Chief of Staff, and others in the corridors of power openly make cult signs, adorn cult paraphernalia, and threaten violence? A state where you must align with the seeming dominant cult group in the state to even have a voice? Where the state government lacks the willpower to condemn and ban cultism? Where it can't make a law outrightly scapegoating government officials known to be aligning with cult groups? A state where the top five picks or contestants for elective positions are known violent cultists? You want to lose your head? Who do you want to demand accountability from? But when we put these issues on the table to be debated so our states and regions and Nigeria by extension can progress, some sîmpletons who are themselves invested in these systems of violent non-accountability would rather try to deflect by making slinging tribal shots while the issue festers. Bayelsa, like Rivers, has a culture of violence and gangs. I've stated this a thousand times but we'd rather play the whataboutism game to deflect like a bipolar girl in a relationship trying to gaslight. You can't demand accountability from gangs. You dare not else you'd be on Labé Orun with your dismembered body filmed for the fleeting thrill of those who like gore. |
obainojazz:Coming to a cinema near you: BIOSman - The Pager Infiltration. |
raumdeuter:It's worse for start-ups. More than 90 percent of startups fail in their first 3 years. One of the big lessons you'd learn if you go through Y Combinator Startup School and get into coaching programmes by Andrew Gazdecki, Paul Graham, or Gary Tan is NEVER to quite your day job or let go of side gigs no matter how promising your startup looks until it makes enough money to sustain itself then thrive and flourish. If you're active on Tech Twitter, you'd interact with several startup founders whose products are doing up to $20,000 MRR (even $40,000 MRR) on Twitter who still keep their day jobs. Some sell on Acquired, build new ones for traction, but still keep their day jobs, or freelance. |
akwesenana:The Itam axis sandwiched between Uyo and Itu LGAs don't understand what power failure is. The Ikot Abasi and Mkpat Enin LGAs axes too. The Uyo - Ibesikpo -Itu - Ikot Ekpene LGAs axes particularly. The Itu axis pay very low electricity tariff; so low it is ridiculous for constant power. State Governments have been empowered by law to generate and transmit electricity since last year. Only two state governments are doing another serious about it. But we'd rather focus on VDM drama than hold state governments accountable. There's no reason Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Delta residents should complain about national power grid failure with the almost unlimited gas being flared daily, the abundance of water, and what we receive from the FAAC. We shouldn't rely on the national grid at this stage. We have the money. |
Ballzproblem2:See? What clause? Specifically to instill the fear of God in anybody seeking to meddle in the envisaged grand response by Israel to Iran. And, of course, a not-so-subtle message to Russia to stay put while the main combatants slug it out. Israel's waiting game is crûel though, psychologically. It's like offending your Nigerian mum as a kid. You know she knows what you have done. She knows you know she'd give you the beating of your life. You expect it all day, but nothing. You are mentally exhausted and scared and walking on eggshells. She'd traumatize you with fear waiting, yet nothing happens; so you begin to relax. But when you least expect it, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8days later after dinner and while flipping through TV channels searching for cartoons - "Dexter's Laboratory" specially, she asks your elder sibling to fetch her her cane, tells you to kneel, then pops - "Ballzproblem2, why did you go out to play football, defying me after I told you to remain inside playing with your siblings? So you have grown wings, eh?" Judgement day! |
Ballzproblem2:Given the antecedence of both countries and how deep the ties run, there's more likelihood of Pakistan and India's reunification than Israel and the U.S. no longer being chummies. I have more chances hosting a birthday bash on the ISS than the former happening. |
Ballzproblem2:Yet same U.S. under Biden have provided more arms and intelligence to Israel than all NATO countries put together since October 7. You think Mossad and IDF work alone for Israel's precise intelligence on Hezbollah and Hamas targeting? Here's how deep Mossad - CIA ties run and how long it's gone on: https://www.google.com/search?q=mossad+cia+collaboration . The first, third and fourth links in the results especially. Wasn't it the U.S. who first warned Israel months before October 7 about an impeding attack, and always about Hamas and Hezbollah attacks weeks before such happen? Don't let the rhetorics fool you. Follow the money always. ALWAYS. |
Ballzproblem2:Just the usual grandstanding. The Dems have to pander to their base who are also made up of immigrants from the Middle East who are anti-Israel and woke college kids with 1 million genders who'd start a protest if you sneeze the wrong way. Wasn't Canada mouthing off the other day until Al Jazeera exposed them for sending loads of weapons to Israel through proxies while the Western media keep mum about it? The U.S. Elections is just next month. You have to feed the support base. Israel has always had the U.S.'s backing for all of its actions - ALL (including reprisal attacks), the public rhetoric regardless. |
OasisX:Didn't I keep saying Akpabio and Umo Eno are in bed? Two weeks to the LG Council election while handing over the flags to the party candidates, these were the Governor's exact words: "All of you should campaign based on issues and things you would do. Campaign based on our achievements as a party in this state. Do not attack the federal government or the party at the center. It must be issue-based campaign." In return, Akpabio didn't back strong men in the APC or endorse anybody. The APC in the state have some sort of truce with the PDP due to Akpabio's romance with the PDP Governor. Odd because former Governor Udom became Akpabio's enemy and wanted the incumbent to inherit his enemies. The unspoken rule is, 2031 would be Akpabio's senatorial district's turn for Governorship. And Akpabio gets the right of first refusal to choose a successor with the Governor's blessing. He's charmed his way into being loved by the opposition and everyone. I didn't think it was possible. Gets them front-row seats at state functions too. But I think Akpabio would be under pressure to capture the state for the APC in 2027 as Senate President to prove his mettle. There the real drama might start. |
Ibime:He's part of the Christians killed with Nasrallah according to OasisX. |
TemporaryHansel:Accûrsed newt! The discourse morphed from Middle East sociopolitics into one about the aftermath of Rivers LG elections. I didn't even participate; but you mentioned me to score cheap points hoping you'd start a deluge of attacks. You have never held politicians accountable like I do. Including in WhatsApp groups with those in the highest positions of power, or at physical events. You failed and you're trying to play the victim. ---- Emotional and childish like you calling and crying on the phone to Ishilóve for 2 hours at night to help beg Pócohantas to give you a little attention, and she still disgraced you on Nairaland? Worthléss soup thief! |
TemporaryHansel:Fóol! Nobody on this board calls out state governors like me. None! I've had to battle people for demanding that they hold state governors accountable on this thread. Nobody exposes Niger Delta Governors like me on this board. I post statistics, earnings, and underhanded dealings of state governors every other week when I am active on this thread. Nobody holds state governors to the light more than I do on this thread. Not one single person. I even am more harsh with my own State Governor than I am with any other politician, including Tinubu on this thread. My post history is proof enough. --- Another certain point: You are a soup thief! |
TemporaryHansel:Twinkle Twinkle, Ogbono Thief; How we wondered where you were... |
OasisX:Ever heard of behavioural psychology and keyword search? People who feel strongly about any issue have definitely given hot takes on them over time. Easy thing - less than a minute. Cos Saudi or other Arab Nations hate Hezbollah then it means I must hate them too?!Now you are being upfront. This is a religious war for you and Iran is just furthering the Jihad you believe in to wipe Jews who are 'infidels' off the face the earth. The 20% Sunni Muslim Israelis being just a necessary price to pay. Now it makes sense. --- Your Honour, no more questions for the accused. The prosecuting counsel would rest its case. |
OasisX:Arab nations like Saudi Arabia are scared of the terrorism perpetuated by Iran, Hezbollah, and ISIS, but OasisX cheerleads for Iran and Hezbollah? Wow! |
OasisX:You still haven't provided proof those killed with Nasrallah are Christians. The media hasn't too. You are the one who made the claim. You, the person who gets hounded and chased away from this thread regularly for being the propaganda-in-chief on local and global sociopolitics, want to put the 'misyarn' tag on others? Richard Dunne accusing Toni Kroos of being an own goal specialist is wild. Dude, you literally hold the record on this thread. |
OasisX:The onus is on the accuser to provide proof. You are the one claiming Christians were bombed with Nasrallah. Provide prove since media outfit (including All Jazeera) has backed up your claim. What's indisputable, however, is that you support Hezbollah who want to wipe out Israel (including its 20% population who are Sunni Muslims). You are letting down the Ummah. This doesn't look good. |
OasisX:Every pro-Israel person here supports its attack on Hezbollah and Hamas and its sponsor, Iran. Not against Lebanon. There are pictures and videos of Lebanese celebrating the bombing of Hezbollah, but never of Israelis celebrating attacks on the IDF. Israel has always been specific about its opposition only to Hezbollah (not Lebanon) and Hamas (not Palestine). But Hezbollah and Hamas whom you support overtly seek the complete annihilation of Israel (including the 20% of its population who are Sunni Muslims). |
OasisX:But 1 in every 5 Israelis is a Muslims, and 99 percent of them are Sunnis - almost 2 million. And you have overtly been backing Iran and its puppet, Hezbollah, dropping bombs on Israeli Muslims - Sunni Muslims. I wonder what the Ummah in Saudi would think of your support. |
