tomiobj: . Even tho nollywood is d 2nd largest movie industry in the world. It is usually seen as a mockery outside nigeria. Don't let me get started on yoruba movies. They like flashbacks too much, everything flashback. And you found out the whole movie was a flashback and the person telling the movie dies. A person gets shot on the arm (gunshout sounding 'pa') the person wakes up in an hospital with bandage on his headYou are spot on |
eastermaris: The truth. Are u one?According to the OP, every young guy dat is flossin in abj is a fake big boy.I don't agree.I was thinkin he was gonna say something about boys leading fake lives. |
What is this one saying ![]() |
tosyne2much: u ar on point bro.. They place so much hype on some ladies.. Most times, I wonder how these ladies feelSometimes these female monikers are actually guys.I feel shame for these cvnt suckers atimes.I guess thats y we have more female monikers now, most guys are nw impersonating to be girls cos of the attention.I bet the actual girls feel like queens whenever the come on NL, away from reality. |
I hate the fact that there are lots of cvnt suckers on NL. *U see guys getting a b0ner jus cos a girl mention him, wether she insults him or not. *U see guys asking for a girl's pin on NL not minding if she's on BBM or not. *Some clowns even open threads exalting a NL female moniker. *Sending PMs to girls they don't know. *Checking out and commending DPs of every chick dat comments on a thread.Like is she gonna like u jus cos u commended her DP? |
anonimi: How do you think Americans see the "movies made in their own country" - by going to the cinemas paying a small amount per person or buying pirated copies and staying home to watchU guys talk cinema. How many cinemas are there in nigeria? Its not like we have atleast one cinema in every state of the country u know. BTW bro/sis u can make ur points without directing affrontive statements to me.I suppose We should be having mature discussions or debates here like adults. |
londoner: Well, they are not scarce.....they are just more secure and harder to pirate. That is why you don't see them for 100 naira in your local store and to me, that's a good thing. If people want to watch the better movies, why not pool resources and pitch in for the better ones and watch them with friends that would like to watch?I have a question for u bro...Do u agree with me that numbers of crappy NW movie are way more numbers of NW good movies? If yes,i think its safe to say that NW is messed up.If NO,then i guess u wanna live in denial which IMO is not good for the good of the industry. We need to task these people to make good movies.More good movies should be made,we don't lack anything to hinder us from making it happen. |
londoner: Iroko tv is good. I don't go to the cinema to watch Nollywood movies. I paid a subscription of 30 pounds for 12 months, they have options for much less. It also came with a 14 day free trial, which you can cancel before you are due to pay.I understand ur point but i think u don't understand mine.I never said movies should be given to the public for free. There are a lot of cheap nollywood movies out there, for example, when i walk into a video store, what i see most are cheap crappy NW movies,Meanwhile the good movies are scarce. Now my point is,how can u regard a movie industry when the good movies are always scarce? |
dabossman: No disrespect, but this your cheap mentality is so warped. When a new movie is released in Hollywood, do you think they just start selling it on the streets for $1? People go to the cinemas to watch for between $7-$15 depending on the cinema and how many weeks it has been released. Then it is released on other mediums like DVD, Blu-ray, online platforms, Netflixs, Hulu etc and all of them cost money. That is why they can spend millions of dollars on a movie and make as much as 3 times their investment, if not more.Cheap mentality? Is that the term used for a fellow who simply ask to get good movies produced in his/her country at a desent prize? My point is...the industry is seen as crappy cos the number of crappy movies is so much dat it supersedes the good movies for a 90-10 ratio. If not for anything there should be a balance. Its more annoying that the so called good movies of nowadays tries too hard to convey african messenge from a western point of view. What happened to the good old village type movies showcasing our culture like the Igodos and the Ijeles? |
dabossman: A movie ticket at Silverbird is between N1,000 and N1,500 depending on the day and time. That is not something I will say is exclusively for the rich. Some of those you are classifying as poor, spend just about that buying or renting those crappy movies from their neighbourhood video stores. They enjoy such movies are most likely not interested in movies with complicated plots. They enjoy their Baba Suwe, Baba Latin, Aki and Pawpaw, Mr. Ibu and co very much. If you are not in that category, then you pay for the class of movies you want.Who rents a NW movie for #1000? Those crappy movies don't exceed #100 to rent. If good movies cost money and is business, why are these movies so far fetched and almost impossible to get in the neighborhood? Recent or old? |
@orikinla. How many of these so called good movies do u see in video stores.I mostly stream these good movies from the internet which cost me a lot.It now seems the good movies are reserved for the rich while crappy movies are dumped on the poor? That is not the NW of my dream.Thanks. |
otunbakolawole: Must u insult him. You made valid points but the insult is unnecessary.I tire o broda. And these are supposedly graduates or undergraduates. |
londoner: Anyon who has not watched recent movies coming out of Nigeria and especially through the new school of producers and dictors, is likely to be outdated in his/her impressions. What if i'm not rich enough to buy data? Good Movies needs to reach or affect all corners of the populace before its considered good. What is good movie when they get to be seen by only the rich? |
Funniez: Una no get work. Actors/Actresses are busy chopping dia money nd u are here insulting urselves. If u feel they are nt doing gud enof, then go into film acting, become a director, use learners nd unpopular actors in ur film, produce it nd wen no one patronises it,maybe u wuld come to undastand then.In essence wat u r saying is...these people make these crap to be patronized? Or tasking the movie industry to make better movie is a crime? |
priscaoge: I saw a movie poster @St. Michaels titled 'EBOLA'Dear i saw a movie poster titled "diaris god o" and am like "wTF"? |

The list has a racist under-tone to it.Lotta white boys here and there, plus there is hardly a rapper on the list...Or maybe hiphop was not fully considered as a music art in this context.SMH for billboard. That was how they listed "thrift shop" as the hottest hiphop song ever. |

Can U satisfy Nigerians at all? I could remember, this had been the same reaction given to 'personally' Testimony' and all their previous songs, then at the end,u see people sweating their a.s.s off dancing to these songs in the club.Same reaction giving to any new songs released by any artiste. My question is...Are Nigerians musically confused? |

Joke of the century that this made FP. FP topics today tho. ![]() Maybe i'm in the wrong forum.Somebody please give me a link to nairaland. |
ejiro2130: I get wer you coming from....bt I tink this is typical p2I agree with u abt the autotune and the poor lyrical content. The song practically belonged to T.i. But the song felt good tho thanks to The beat and the quality of the sound and all. |
safarigirl: I don't even like testimony. I know you're trying to say I prefer the pangolo type of songs, sorry to disappoint you, but I don'tI understand u and i respect ur opinion. The song is good,it'll grow on u honey ![]() *modified* So this made FP? When the link the op posted was actually a link to the audio version. The topic is misleading. |
safarigirl: I'm not feeling the song yet. That auto-tune is unnecessary, Peter was dancing a little too hard (like ease into it, don't force it), the video quality is poor IMO.The song is simply brilliant and classic that's probably why u didn't feel it. U were expecting the regular 'testimony' kinda p2 but u were disappointed with the change, which IMO took versatility to another level.I'm not a p2 fan actually but the song(this song) made me one by default. |
