I had same revelation from God. Quite literally. There was a time (quite recently) I was praying to God for a husband. And later, the next day, very early in the morning as I was waking up, though still sub-conscious, I distinctly heard "I will bring him while (and when) you are resting.

When I fully woke up, I knew immediately, that was the audible voice of God (which I have come to hear more often. I asked God for some explanation. And, I got one. Resting, not literal for sleep. But, just means- sit still. Stop striving. Just be. And, what will be will be.

Today my new motto in life is this: whatever has my name on it (love, people, wealth...), will find me. Emphasis on "find me". Amen.

You can say it again. God's gift comes to us while we are at rest. When we are not striving, busy or hustling it. Speaking from experience. But may God give us the grace because being at rest and waiting can be unsettling but Isaiah 40 the last verse says that they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint.

It pays to wait for the Salvation of the Lord. It pays big time.

But the Bible said neglect not the assembling of one another. Even apostle Paul the apostle of the gentiles encouraged giving. 2 Corinthians 8. Jesus recognises the church or body of believers, that's why He wrote to the seven churches in revelation. Moreover in Ephesians 4 apostle Paul talked about when Jesus ascended He left the five fold ministry to govern and lead the church. Also in Ephesians 5 husbands are admonished to love their wives as Christ loved the church.

If you are in a dead end job earning low,even if you work your ass out everyday you will still remain poor,while someone who maybe owns trucks working for him even if he sleeps all day will still be richer than you.Truth is that in life it is not always the smartest that becomes the richest.Time and unforseen circumstances befall us all.Many people are only a cheque or payday away from begging, Wealth and just being able to get by are not the same thing.Another thing,even if you save all you make and don't spend "arrogantly" you still don't have guarantee of being wealthy ,making money and wealth is this,How much are you making?what value are you are bringing to the exchange table?

Go and read millionaire next door and millionaire mind by Stanley. It was a research on millionaires in the US.

Somethings I learnt from the book is that millionaires in US are very frugal. They accumulated their wealth over a life time. They were wise investors. They watched their spending. They are less divorced than none millionaireres meaning they make better choice of spouse. And choice of spouse is also a big determination whether you will be reach or not. And finally they live inheritance for their grand children because they ensure that their own children are already established thereby leaving and willing their wealth to their grand children. That's how many oyibo families have wealth in subsequent generations. Most of them, their grandparents have already accumulated wealth for them over their lifetime so they start life on a good financial footing


Also from that book I learnt that the jews have 2percent of the population but they have the highest percentage of homes with dollar millionaires followed by homes of people with European Ancestry, then Russian ancestry.

Tithing was under the law of Moses. Tithing according to the law was on crops, animals and wine and not everyone was allowed to tithe. Am just trying to tell you that what tithing meant in the Old Testament.
TITHING IS OF THE LAW
In matthew 23:23 (What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law--justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.)

In this chapter Jesus was condemning the teachers of religious law and the religion then was Judaism (hope you know Christianity didn't start until after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ). Jesus confirm that tithing is of the law (you ignore the most important aspect of the law, meaning tithing is an aspect of the law).
Jesus came to fulfill all that was written in the Law and the Prophets. All of it was pointing to him, even where it is not explicitly prophetic. He accomplishes what the Law required.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” (Matthew 5:17–18)

All the promises of God in the Old Testament are fulfilled in Jesus Christ. That is, when you have Christ, sooner or later you will have both Christ himself and all else that God promised through Christ.

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

The law was kept perfectly by Christ. And all its penalties against God’s sinful people were poured out on Christ. Therefore, the law is now manifestly not the path to righteousness; Christ is. The ultimate goal of the law is that we would look to Christ, not law-keeping, for our righteousness.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4)

In Romans 3:26-28 we were made to understand that we are made right with God not by keeping the law but by faith (26-for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. 27-Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28-So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.)

Jesus never talked about that tithe, he never collected or paid tithe, his disciples never collected or paid tithe. And in John 14:26(But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative--that is, the Holy Spirit--he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.) he never told us to pay tithe so the Holy Spirit can't tell us what Jesus Christ didn't say.
Any pastor saying the Holy Spirit ministered tithing to him is a liar from the pit of hell.

The only way you can give to God is to give to the poor, orphans, widows (the needy in general)

I don't play with paying my tithe and I see great benefits. Tithe is 1 /10 of your income.
I knew how I was when I never honoured God with my money and now I do. I have been blessed beyond measure.


Most of you quote things out of head knowledge. Not out of practicality. Not out of reality. The first person that paid tithe was Abraham. He was not under the law. Moses was the law giver.


Moreover my paying tithe doesn't stop me from taking care of the orphans. Widows and less privileged. Those in the prisons also fall under the category of those I reach out to.



Infact God owns my whole money, body, family everything about me belongs to God.

It is individuals who make up the developed countries? Isn't it? What you can't apply to individuals who make up those countries why applying it to the generality of those nations? It is a working system built on justice and good management first, that make those countries being able to have excess and then share with others. Many countries are great today and they are not really into humanitarian stuffs.

They have respect for basic human existence. There are systems in place. Still majority of poor people from impoverished nations troop to these countries for better living.

One thing I have come to discover is that poverty is a terrible thing. And to lift yourself from poverty, you will never think only of yourself.

And did I say that good management of resources is not part of it?

Some of the Greatest management principles is gotten from the Bible. The wisdom in the book of proverbs changed my life and managing my business more than anything else.



One of my greatest mentor in business and life is Mr Strive Masyiwa a Zimbabwean. He was the founder of Econet wireless. He has given scholarship to more than 40 000 young people. Recently he was speaking that CNN came to interview him and he told them that he reads his Bible 2 hours everyday. When he speaks, wisdom drips from his mouth. He hates corruption so much. He told of when he went to one African country for a business deal worth 100s of millions of dollars, with his partners from The west. The government of that country sent some people behind for kickbacks. Immediately he told his partners that corruption was involved. They stopped that deal immediately and flew out of that country. The government officials were mad.

As.much as I have subscribed to message on giving for a very long time, I have got to know that giving is not really the main and foremost of principle.
Possibly because we in this part of the world has put too much emphasis on giving, and making it so makes it questionable.

Those who gave in the Bible did beyond giving. Same Bible says that it is even possible to give without love according to 1Cor. 13.
I think we begin to go in excess thinking that the more we give, the richer we become... Look at us, the topmost richest in the world didn't get that rich by just giving. Most time when giving is preached, it is so that we can become rich?! It is questionable. Many have done that for year with no matching results and are frustrated.

In Nigeria we don't need more of messages of giving, but messages of tolerance, love, justice, and of equity. This far has the messages of giving and more giving brought us...where greed, acquisitions of the materials, eye-service and self-centeredness seem to be at the front seat.


A person who subscribes to justice and fairness is more recognised before God than another who is emptying his pocket for church but is intolerant of his brethren, neighbours or fellow humans.

The biggest givers in the world are still the advanced developed countries. From US, to EU Countries, Japan, Australia etc. Whenever there is a natural disaster, they are the ones that still send relief.


And they still they allow millions of people from poor countries to migrate to their place for improved living.

Giving has always been from time immemorial. One thing I have discovered is that those that complain don't have much.

Infact majorities of givers are well to do. That was the secret of their success. If you are stingy, you can never grow pass some level.

My major life principle is that I live to give. Giving is now my second nature. And guess what? I have been living in sweatless, no toiling success. I have seen tremendous increase in my finances.


I give all round. I don't play with my tithe. Still involved in prisons, orphanages, education for the less privileged and outreach for young people because so many of our young people are exposed to illicit sex, drugs, teenage pregnancy etc.
I may call myself a kind of social entrepreneur.

Well, I believe we need to begin to re-assess and critically review our narrow-minded definition of success. The belief that having a bank account brimming with several figures (regardless of how this money is gotten) makes one a success story is terribly misguided. No matter how much effort you put in, not every one will become kings, presidents, CEOs, managers, governors, etc. The key is to truly understand your calling in life, and follow it tenaciously, success will inevitably follow and overtake you... I kind of disagree on that age thing of below or above 30. Certain people may not find their niche in life till even middle age (Do your research into the history of great men and world leaders). Mark Twain put it in few words: "The 2 most important days in a man's life are: the day he is born, and the day he finds out why". In all, wonderful post op.

You quoted Leviticus but I told you from the scriptures that Abraham was the first man that paid tithe.

Levi the father of the priests that collect tithes was already in the loins of Abraham paying tithe to Melchizedek according to the book of Hebrews.

Furthermore the same book of Hebrews made us to understand that the priesthood of Melchizedek which was a type of Christ was superior to priesthood of Aaron which you were quoting Leviticus.

Jesus Christ is a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. A higher priesthood than Aaron.

I am still looking for where God said tithes can be paid with silver or gold or cash... Yes, the same God who said all the silver and gold is His...


Bunch of truth twisting rouges!

First of all I don't even think you are a born again. I don't think you have the Spirit of God in you. Because you don't talk like one.


Infact tithes is even irrelevant. If you like pay or not, but the issue here is the Salvation of soul. Yes Pastors may be swindling people but the Lord Jesus told us already that in the last days there will be false prophets. Jesus already warned us.

Also another thing the Lord said was that when he sowed good seeds, that while men slept the enemy came and sowed tares or weeds. But the harvest man wanted to remove the weeds but the Lord told him to leave the weeds alone. During the harvest time which is the judgement day, he will gather the wheat in one side and gather the weeds and burn them with fire.


So my dear the Lord Jesus already warned us, so your coming here to speak won't do anything. Face your life and ensure that you will enter into Gods kingdom. Your own soul.


Then for all these debate the main point of the scriptures is to learn from Israel and their walk with the Lord in the past and nothing more. Let me quote the important scriptures;

From all these scriptures I quoted, Israel were as examples to us. The same gospel and message they were preached was the same gospel we are being preached now.


So we should beware of people that don't talk the whole counsel of God. They leave the weightier lessons that has eternal consequences and be pursuing less weightier matters. Be very ware of them. I am posting all these things so that those that immature believers will recognize these antics and be wiser. God bless you all.

The more I see all the comments I have come to conclusion that majority of people don't care for their soul.



People are debating about money, tithe but they are never saved. The only topic they will discuss is tithe but when you talk of salvation of their souls, it doesn't mean anything to them.


But let me say it; Jesus said that the road to life is very narrow and only very few people have found it.

People will claim they are Christians but their lifestyle does not show in any way that they are Christians.


The road is narrow, find the Lord today. Seek genuine repentance and salvation for your souls, now that you still have time. Today is the day of salvation, night time is coming. I will conclude with this passage;

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

We must ensure that our lives are in line with the Word of God.

I read my Bible. I saw Abraham pay tithe to Melchizedek.

Malachi talked about robing God. OK good it is old testament

The book of Hebrews still talked about tithe Abraham paid to Melchizedek. Why?


When Abraham paid Melchizedek there was no law, Abraham was operating in simple faith with God and it was counted to him as righteousness.



Tithe ordinance was before the law of Moses

Jacob when he was running from Esau promised God one tenth.


We that operate under grace as Christians we are still linked to Abraham through Christ


The book of Roman's, the book of Galatians all talk about the faith of Abraham and Apostle Paul that was sent to the gentiles made us to understand that we gentiles have access to the new covenant through faith just like Abraham believed God.


I repeat it again; I pay my tithes out of reverence, fear, respect and worship to God. And I have seen God's amazing goodness in my life. I owe no apology to any man.

You can quote whatever you like but it can and will never stop me from paying my tithes. Never ever.

And God is blessing me, expanding me everyday. Have a company that is growing small small and by God's Grace as it grows, whatever I make is for God. It has great potentials, to offer cheap medicare to the average man in a couple of years times. We are looking at bringing the kind of medicare that Dubai Medical City offers. By God's Grace


There are other things we are pursuing but our 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40years vision is to bequeath better legacy to our children and their children if the Lord tarries. Not like prior generations that wasted Nigeria.

I am not a money monger. It's better I say the truth and lose money. I have managed a company before where I grossed so much millions for them but I never took a dime not my own. Some friends then were saying I was foolish, that I had access to such amount of money I should have made away with some. I told them that where I was heading to such money was chicken change. God forbid I sell my integrity for filthy lucre.



The reason why Nigeria is messed up is because every where you go there are very few honest people. Those in places of authority steal and confiscate the money meant to better the lives of ordinary man.


Moreover I don't even hold briefs for these pastors. Many of them has compromised but that won't stop me from obeying God. In the end God will judge them, God will judge everyone. God is the perfect Judge.

People are dying everyday in this country because of the wickedness of men. It is left for each and everyone of us to with our own little effort do the little we can do to salvage things. Simple

Read my reply again, if you can't get the answer there, then I can't help you. Tithing is not just alone, it walks with faith, with diligence, hardwork infact the whole counsel of God.


If you tithe in unbelief or lack of knowledge or you are lazy etc how will you have success.

Also you can work hard, be diligent and not tithe you might be successful but when the devourer remembers you. Nothing will save you. I have seen those who with all their wealth lose almost everything.

So it all leads back to Gods blessing. God's blessings never fade. Blessing of man never lasts but the blessing of God is trans generation

So anyone claiming to follow Jesus Christ must ensure he truly belongs to the Lord and Roman's 8 tells us that as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God. It is the Holy Spirit in a believer is the seal of our redemption and the book of Acts was strictly centred on the Holy Spirit coming and His Acts among the apostles

Wait, your argument now is that the Jews are wealthy because they tithe? What of the Africans that tithe? why aren't they controlling money like the Jews on a global scale?

For Africa her major problem is that our forefathers were idol worshipers and they bequeathed it to these generations. Up till today idolatry is still prevalent. Many of our people are battling with the outcome of these Idolatry inheritance.

The God that created the universe deals with each generations. That's why people should be careful to ensure they raise their children to fear, respect, reverence, obey and keep God's ways. If they raise their children well, their subsequent generations will be blessed. But if they do and commmitt evil, they will pass it to the next generation and God's blessings will not rest on that linage.

That was what happened to Noah in the Bible. He was the generation of a great prophet named Enoch. Enoch raised his children well, that was why even when the whole world then was in great iniquity Noah a seed of the righteous stood out. He was righteous, upright and feared God. So God only saved his house hold and righteous generation.



Likewise Abraham, he was a righteous man, he put God's ways for his children from Isaac to Jacob, even Joseph who despite he was a slave in Egypt still feared God and refused to sleep with his masters wife. He was imprisoned but God later vindicated him. And the blessing continued till this day. We gentiles through Christ Jesus has been connected to that generational blessing of Abraham according to Galatians 2.
