You're not showing much wisdom here. State govt towing state road is different from fg because everybody pays for fg project since its built by commonwealth. If fg build a road in Kano thats not being tolled, people from the East also paid for that Kano road because fg money is drawn from all states esp old eastern region!

Well apparently they claim the project would be concessioned after construction.

The 2NigerBridge, Lagos-Ibadan and Kaduna-Zaria-Kano roads are 3 projects being financed by the NSIA. According to Fashola, all 3 projects are to be tolled. So let's watch and see what happens when they complete the other 2...

highway 407 in GTA ontario is tolled. Was charged twice for using it, i now set my google maps to avoid tolls. The fg have said they are bringing back toll. When the bridge is completed and other are not tolled then you can scream and complain. For now mechunu.

The only FG tollgates that we have ever known have been in the SW . In the 80s till Obasanjo ended it.

At that time there was PH to Enugu Road which was not tolled in fact no other roads were tolled .

I believe that if Toll gates are put in at the design stage then it is likely to be more efficient than those which are added on after the road is completed.

I wonder how a tolling the bridge is a big deal , where we have to be thankful the bridge will be in place and make life easier . Is there anyone using the bridge that won't buy fuel for his car ? So what's a #100 or #200 that will be taxed to maintain the bridge? We have to be progressive. If PPP will get projects done faster in Nigeria , we the masses we should embrace the system.

If it is PPP, SE will be ok to pay but if its fg, insofar no other fg bridge is tolled in Nigeria,

The bridge isnt PPP. Was originally planned to be PPP and tolled by GEJ but PMB cancelled the PPP arrangement and FG funded the bridge 100%.

I guess the reason they still chose to sustain the tolling idea (despite it not being PPP anymore) was cos the SE already seemed to have accepted the tolling idea from the start (just a case of the govt taking advantage of the silence of the SE).

Lekki toll gate is not fg project. They're not apple for apple comparison

Easterners will pay for the bridge via tolling so they technically built it. If GEJ had not progressed this bridge, Bubu would never think of it how much more of touching it. How important is this bridge to the average Easterner?
