You Yorubas always pride yourself that you stopped Biafra soldiers at Ore. So my question is how did they get to Ebute Meta and Lagos Island?
T9ksy:
Before ojukwu embarked on his suicidal mission towards Yorubaland, he had already dropped bombs in ebutta meta and lagos Island. The casualties of these attacks were majorly yorubas..

I cannot spoonfeed you. The North currently have 19 states meaning they have more influence over what happens in the national assembly. This wasn't so before the Gowon divided Nigeria while the West cheered on
aribisala0:
Your analysis is wrong

The North did not have 25% stake. What do you mean by that?

How many legislators were there in Parliament in 1960?
How many were from the North?
Politics › Re: HISTORY - January 15 1966 Coup: Why They Called It An Igbo Coup — Mbazulike Amec by DMerciful(m): 9:10pm On Jan 30, 2022
You used a word I like YOUNG NAIVE soldiers!

If they're young and naive and prone to youthful exuberance, why then did we make their reckless coup an entire Igbo coup?

At what point dud the Igbo race decide that these soldiers should represent them in carrying out a coup?

Because there was already hate and mistrust,
it quickly spiraled into an ethnic tragedy and has continued till this day. There were killing of Igbos in the 40s and 50s in the North so our founding fathers were living in fooools paradise when they thought they could make a nation out of people who despise each other!
Ojiofor:
So what did the coup achieved?
Why are you trying to justify a failed careless and reckless adventure of some young naive and irresponsible soldiers who went on killing spree that led to subsequent counter coups and civil war that handed Nigeria over to corrupt ill educated Northern soldiers? You are talking as if Nigeria was a creation of native people of geographical space called Nigeria.Nigeria was created by Britain for their own interest and the so called regions was also created by them.
Politics › Re: HISTORY - January 15 1966 Coup: Why They Called It An Igbo Coup — Mbazulike Amec by DMerciful(m): 9:04pm On Jan 30, 2022
If I agree with you, what about the founding fathers of the West and North? Awolowo said oil and water cannot mix yet went ahead with it. I really do not understand!

You made it look like Igbos are the only one not happy in Nigeria, heck no, most of the nationalities are not happy however some are not ambitious to do anything about it. This country CAN NEVER WORK!
T9ksy:
Your founding fathers were so fixated on the prospect of dominating the potential country that will ensue hence they were willing to sacrifice a few of their kith and kins for a greater majority.
Politics › Re: YORUBAS: Why Southern Unity And Not Western Unity? (NW/SW) by DMerciful(m): 8:52pm On Jan 30, 2022
Ojulwu was matching to Lagos to take Gowon out and not attack Yorubas, use your brain.

Yorubas was not represented in GEJ govt thanks to Tinubu.

Support Biafra seccession from Nigeria and have your peace but before then, no peace for the wicked!
MrMaestro:
Agreed 100% honestly. The stagnation of the Yorubas have come from the south East. When Goodluck Jonathan was in office SW rightfully pointed out how they were being marginalized in the administration. And the igbos were supporting it that it Yorubas should continue to be marginalized. Why on earth do Yorubas even want unity with a people that have proven from the moment Ojukwu wanted to march towards Yorubaland that these people have set Yorubas as their enemies forever.

The NW is a much MUCH better ally to have in my book.
Politics › Re: YORUBAS: Why Southern Unity And Not Western Unity? (NW/SW) by DMerciful(m): 8:49pm On Jan 30, 2022
How about a country without Igbos entirely?

Support Biafra and have your own country with Hausa-Fulani!
MrMaestro:
It’s become quite clear that there is nothing that will bring the south together as the igbos have made it their mission to attack Tinubu as they have done with Awolowo, MKO Abiola, and every other political juggernaut in the region to prevent the strongest political candidate from reaching power.

Meanwhile the Northerners continue to support Yorubas. Continue to partner with Yorubas such as the Norther Dangote building the most massive refinery in Africa in Lagos state instead of his own Kano state. Femi Otedola and Dangote seem to be close friends and work together. The NW focus on Agriculture and farming production, while SW focuses on Tech, law, and financial services. It’s honestly a great combination as the strengths match perfectly.

Whether it be business, politics, and anything else, there’s a natural harmonious collaboration between the two regions whenever it happens. Meanwhile whenever igbos get any sort of interaction with Yorubas they either curse the natives and say they own Lagos. Or they curse their politicians and say they are evil and corrupt.

So my question stands:

WHAT BENEFIT HAS A SOUTHERN UNITY BEEN FOR YORUBAS AND HOW IS IT BETTER THAN A WESTERN UNITY WITH THE NW IN THE CONTEXT OF NIGERIA?

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY.

If not that coup, there would be another, it's inevitable. We are not meant to be one, we hate each other.

There has been killings of Easterners living in the North in the 40s and 50s. I wonder why our founding fathers thought it wise to look over our hatred and distrust for each other to forge a single country when we could have gotten 3 countries at independence
Ojiofor:
Nigeria was drifting to where exactly?
Did the military intervention made the situation better or worse? That is the question.Nigeria would have done far better without that stupid coup.
Politics › Re: HISTORY - January 15 1966 Coup: Why They Called It An Igbo Coup — Mbazulike Amec by DMerciful(m): 8:41pm On Jan 30, 2022
If they were voting or taking any decision by region, North had only one region while South had three so South had the upper hand.
North through her military leaders moved the power from South to North while the Yorubas cheered on insofar Igbos were being dealt with, they were fine

Aguiyi Ironsi spent just 6 months. How come Gowon couldn't manage the country afterwards?

The West was too blind to see the game plan of the North using Igbo hate by the West as catalyst. Before 1966, the North with one region has 25% stake while the South with 3 regions had 75% stake.

Gowon created 12 states from the 4 regions with 6 states in the North and 6 states in the South thereby reducing the stake of the south to 50% and increasing that of the North to 50%. The West cheered on insofar the Igbos are being dealt with, they're fine.

Today the North has 19 states while the South has 17 states meaning the South that had 75% stake before the coup ended up the minority
stakeholder. Yet the West cheered on insofar the Igbos are marginalized, they're fine.

But the chicken will soon come home to roost!
aribisala0:
Not just the coup but the deceitful way that Aguiyi Ironsi managed the aftermath by failing to try his murderous brethren
And the triumphal behaviour of many Eboes mocking Nigerians with songs and cartoons
Politics › Re: HISTORY - January 15 1966 Coup: Why They Called It An Igbo Coup — Mbazulike Amec by DMerciful(m): 8:27pm On Jan 30, 2022
Nigeria was already drifting. If there was no mistrust hitherto, such a coup shouldn't change the trajectory of a country that was united before. Coup was common across African nations in those days.

Nigeria is like the tower of Babel, can never work!
Ojiofor:
January 15 1966 coup was the worst thing to happen to ndi Igbo and Nigeria in general. They set Nigeria towards the path of darkness and bloodshed.

I don't stay in the SW however we should nit encourage lawlessness. If he feels there's security challenges warranting curfew, he should consult the governor. He just arrogated the governor's power to himself.

If a northern emir try this, he'd be dethroned by the governor!

Lagosians are blind to this because they're focus on Yoruba-Igbo supremacy contest.
Politics › Re: What Is Gej's Legacy? by DMerciful(m): 10:42am On Jan 30, 2022
If you're not mischievous, you won't be focusing on GEJ when Bubu is at the twilight of his administration. The focus should be what has Bubu and APC achieved to warrant asking Nigerians to continue with APC at the center!
wirinet:
That to me is also his greatest legacy. The fact that he handed over peacefully without attempting to bring down the whole country says a lot about the character of the man. The same could not be said for many other Presidents including the last US President.

After saying that, Jonathan was a failure in other indices. He tolerated and even supported corruption - ie Abah Moro, Dieziani Allison, Stella Oduah, Dasuki, subsidy scam, etc. He was incompetent in security - Chibok girls, UN building Bombed, Sambisa Forest was no go area, Boko Haram controlled 14 local govt areas, etc. In terms of economic policies he did not fare better - he was using excess petrodollars to support the naira, no actual infrastructural development, (as fine by all previous governments), no economic plan or agenda. His only obsession was re-election.

Now, some distractionists or diversionists would ask "what about Buhari"? Well even though I think Buhari is failing on many fronts Jonathan failed, we can't start comparing until a few years after Buhari's term ends.

When we talk of legacy, we must wait until the term ends.

Even Ebonyis and so called igboid tribe like Ika dont like ibo. No body want you. without the pseudo democracy Nigeria practised, Yoruba land will be competing with France in development. The Igbos are the last people a dying Nigeria would affect and this is a fact!

So I person is ELDERS?

Did you caution Akiolu who said he'll throw Igbos into the Lagoon if they don't vote for his preferred candidate?
flokii:
That you don't support them doesn't mean they are not Igbos neither does it mean that you're more Igbo than they are.. Have you made any attempt to call out the so called Igbo elders for incitement before jumping into my mentions?
Why I ask is because I really don't know what concerns Igbo elders with Tinubu or his candidacy as he has never ruled any of the Igbo states. So what's the problem here?

So you think the restoration of Biafra that started with massob is because of presidency?

The same conditions that caused the uncivil war is still prevalent
TheCrusader14:
Forget the fake Biafran agitation, it's just a game of reverse psychology. Ibos actually love Nigeria more than anyone else. That agitation is just to blackmail the rest of us into conceding the Presidency to them. Ibos will eventually ended up voting another Fulani because they know Fulani will always help them to keep their biggest asset, One Nigeria.
Politics › Re: I Wish Igbos On Social Media Can Mind Their Business by DMerciful(m): 9:47am On Jan 30, 2022
Loool...you're making it look like Igbos and Yorubas were cordial before Nnamdi Kanu or before 2011. This friction has been going on since independence and that's why I wonder why Yorubas were insisting on one Nigeria with people they do not like and who do not like them as well
oyatz:
Nnamdi Kanu started base his agitation by preaching hatred against the Hausa-Fulani and the Yorubas the tempo of which increased especially after the 2015 electi
His tweets and broadcasts against the Yorubas are all over the internet, this is the reason why most non-igbo Nigerians that comment against him on social media are doing so.

Many of the young Igbo online picked their anti-Nigerian altitudes from his broadcasts on Radio Biafra.

Break up this British cage? And you're using it to threaten Igbos? Something they've always wanted?
TheCrusader14:
Did you creatures vote for Falae whom we wanted? You voted Obasanjo, who was among those killed you during the Civil War just because you don't want a proper Yorubaman as president. Either we rule or we break up this British cage.

Yes! There currently an Islamic alliance btw the Muslim North and the SW Muslims and that's the reason why SW is wanting to run for the presidency inspite of doing 16 yrs as president and vice president.

Perhaps, we will leave Nigeria for North plus SW and the MB, Lower Niger Republic, Biafra for their own countries.

You can do your own research. I have told you APC is blocking electronic collation and transmission of results. If it is adopted, then you'd know the strength of Igbos across Nigeria.

Igbos are the second largest nationality in Nigeria, take it or leave it!
