Your village is your village, Lagos is a cosmopolitan area that belongs to everybody! Ttalk: Whatever you say to make you happy but it diminishes you when you make conjesture words and call it history.
Pocket all those nonsense you say about Awori and Lagos State.
For your information, Awori, Ijebu and Egun are owner of all Land in Lagos and all can trace thier origin from other Yoruba ancient towns. For instance most of Awori have their lineage linked with Ife, other have their origin from Egba. For example most of town and villages in Ife are exact names you found in some towns and districts in Lagos.
Not only that, there are festival that brings all these towns together. Do you even know there are some dinstincts words you can only found in Ife and Awori language. My people yearly travel to Ife as well receive Ife traditional to celebrate many festivals.
So dont dabble into issue you know nothing about. Staying 100years in Yoruba land can never make you a Yoruba person, you won't understand our culture and heritage because we are distinct people |

There are actually more girls in schools than boys across Nigeria. Is there a female US president in history? How many female UK prime Minister in history? Let's focus on having credible elections then merit will determine Seun: They would be more interested in politics if it wasn't dominated by men and the things men care about. If 50% of NASS was female the things females care more about such as how to ensure that all girls are allowed to go to school, how to take care of women and children in refugee camps, how to protect women from sexual assault and domestic violence, etc would be in the news more often and women would be more interested. In other words, women don't care about politics because politics is dominated by men and focused on men's issues. |

Even in families, the only male child automatically becomes the head when he comes of age, it's a cultural thing! Seun: There are many smart, capable, brilliant women who have never tried to contest for office because they know that the odds would be against them simply because they are women. My proposal, if implemented would level the playing field and thus motivate those brilliant women to get involved in politics. |

Awori People: A brief history and belief of the original indigenes of Lagos October 26th 2021, 8:34:00 am King Oduduwa had given Olofin a mud plate, instructing him to place it on the water and follow it until it sank into the river.
Awori people Awori people The Aworis are the original indigenes of Lagos.
Origin of Awori people
Legend has it that Prince Olofin and his followers left the palace of King Oduduwa in Ile-Ife and migrated southward along a river.

It is said that several days after leaving Ile-Ife, the plate suddenly stopped near Olokemeji near present-day Abeokuta. And after seventeen days, it began moving again.
It would later stop for another seventeen days at Oke-Ata.
At the end of seventeen days, the mud plate began moving again, only to stop again on the southern outskirts of present-day Abeokuta, where it stayed for another seventeen days.
It was here some of Olofin's followers decided to remain. This group of people was under the leadership of a man named Osho Aro-bi-ologbo-egan.
The mud plate would continue again down the river, only to stop for the fourth time at Isheri, where it remained for a much longer period of time.
Owing to this, Olofin began instructing his followers to begin setting up a permanent settlement, but after 289 days (17 x 17) the plate began moving again.
And when it did, only a few followers joined Olofin to follow the plate. The rest of the group decided to stay behind.
They had only journeyed for two days when the plate stopped briefly at Iddo in Lagos.
It was at Idumota in central Lagos that the mud plate sank into the bottom. After whirling on the water.
When Olofin returned to Iddo to meet his group, it is said that they’d asked him where the plate was. And in answering, he said, "Awo Ti Ri" meaning "The plate has sunk". This is how the name Awori is said to have come into being.
The Awori is a tribe of the Yoruba people speaking a distinct dialect of the Yoruba language. And they are presently found in both Ogun State and Lagos State, Nigeria. |

So why insist on Igbos being your compatriots? And don't give me that lame excuse that nobody is holding them back. flokii: Sadly, it's the truth.. the West had ports for trans-atlantic trade, producing valuable cash crops like cocoa for export. The North too had their groudnut pyramids, hides and skins from cattle and a lot they produce for sale in the trans-sahara trade.
Igbos on the other hand just want to buy and resell, no substantial value added, just money made. That is the genesis of your problem in the East if you don't know. Easy way out and shortcut methods of doing things.
Nigeria needs to go pro local manufacturing and stop unnecessary importation if we wish to survive the next decade. |

Yorubas also migrated to Lagos like others. What helped Yorubas is the proximity to Lagos but are all immigrants as well. Eriokanmi: Don't mind them. Warped up post up there. Early settlers were the bini fishermen who paddled their canoes via the edge of the river banks to lagos...does that make them the owners of our land? I hope Ibos in amuwo odofin too or hausas at sabo and agege areas won't say they're the original owners of Lagos tomorrow after travelling nearly 1000 of miles to settle here.
In ondo state, we have the Ijaws at the riverine area, especially at Ęse Odo LGA. They migrated and settled there. They can't say they're the original owners of Ondo tomorrow. Human migration is a normal thing.
The argument of whether Yorubas own Benin kingdom is a story for another day. |

Every problem in Nigeria, you guys attributes to Igbos but insist Nigeria must not breakup for Igbos to go. Why? flokii: Importation kills local industry of any economy..this is where the Igbos come in, all they know in this life is to import.
You'll be surprised they inport toothpicks and other unnecessary things from China and co. into the country all in the name of doing business. When we should be growing food and cash crops for export to strengthen our economy, some people are busy looking for what to pack into the country from China.
Cocoa, palm oil, textiles, leather etc. have all been killed due to unchecked importation. The free movement of goods in Ecowas countries too has caused so mach damage for our local producers.
South West today is home to so many industries because the average Yoruba person understands the benefit of producing what you consume locally. So many solid and e-wastes now in the country inported from Asian countries by people looking for money by all means, no strategic development plans, nothing! |
