I have nothing against the Yorubas, my blood sister is married to a Yoruba but I find it strange you equated the insults of Kanu to the killings engineered by Awolowo. The bitterness the East has for the West stems majorly from that action because he wasnt compelled to fight against Igbos especially as he was sharing same ideology with Ojukwu but not necessarily the same approach(I'm sure he regretted his actions). People who were antagonizing each other had the opportunity to separate but still yet they bunked it only to be in perpetual hatred. What a foolish country! LegendHero: You said he is greedy right?
Azikwe was not greedy when he wrote an epistle to the North when they tried echoing the thought of secession. Ojukwu and his cronies was not greedy when he stopped the secession of Adaka Boro and imprisoned him?
All is fair in war. Awo was fighting on the Nigeria side at that time and he used his intelligence for the Nigerian side. The Biafrans also tried invading Ore and Yoruba life was also lost in the war. Stop making it seems like only the Igbos die in that war.
Again, the hate for Kanu is justified. He already changed his ways now and you will see that the Yorubas don't even talk about him anymore. Before, any thread on Kanu will reach many pages but now people barely comment on a thread about him. It tells you the Yorubas already moved on, you should too. |

You are comparing words that harmed nobody to actions that killed millions? Awolowo may decide to side with Biafra or side with Nigeria or decide to be neutral. The reason why he ought to be neutral is because he advocated for the same seccession but felt the West was too militarize to declare it. With this he should have been neutral, he was too greedy for power. This greed was a major reason he was fighting with Akintola from 1961 or so and even charged and imprisoned for treason. Another reason he should have been neutral was because the coupist(Nzeogwu and his team) wanted to install Awolowo but were unsuccessful however this ultimately led to the civil war. Considering this he should have been neutral. Comparing Kanu words to Awolowo's actions is outrageous! LegendHero: Awolowo have the choice to choose for the Yorubas whether to side with Biafra or Nigeria. He does not owe the Igbos any loyalty and I always laugh when you guys mention betrayal. When did he ever made an pact with you in the first place.
However, your hate for him is justified because to you he fought against you. If I was to be an Igbo too, I will hate Awolowo.
Likewise, if you’re a Yoruba you’ll hate Kanu for what he said about us when he started his Biafra agitation. He could agitate without abusing the Yorubas but instead he chose to talk anyhow on the media space. Hence we are also justified to hate him back.
It’s very simple you know. Actions beget consequences. |

He slapped me first is never the beginning of a fight. The loggerhead between Igbos and Yorubas started since 1960, exacerbated by Awolowo when he actively participated in the war when he could have been neutral. Nzeribe went to court to seek an injunction to annul the June 12, 1993 elections which gave the military the excuse they need however Abiola caused it by insensitively picking a Muslim Muslim ticket. So Nnamdi Kanu is not the forcet origo of the tensions LegendHero: You know what bro. I normally don't have time for trolling people or laughing at the misfortune of others.
If you check my posts, I only respond when provoked. You spoke about me mocking IPOBs, but you forgot the IPOBs mocked Yorubas first. Kanu and most of you guys abuse the Yorubas like we were the one holding you guys down.

Restructure the country to have state police and true federalism but Niger Delta oil nor go make una see road! This your proposed solution will fail because the judiciary is not independent. LegendHero: Introduction: The SARS brutality is getting out of hand and it seems the government is getting clueless by the day in finding a lasting solution to the constant killings by these blood sucking demons called SARS.
Nigeria is a nation where conventional solutions always seems ineffective because of the corrupt nature of almost all agencies of government. No matter what the leadership does, these agencies will always find a way to maneuver their way and commit atrocities. Hence we need to solve this problem using a more rugged approach.
Scenario: - Police DPOs are always informed anytime their officers are going for a raid. (Probably 75% of the time). - Infact internal sources claimed that the DPOs sometimes set daily/weekly target for officers to meet. - The officers get back to the station and remit a certain percentage of their loot to the DPOs daily/weekly. - The DPOs in-turn remit a certain percentage to the commissioners & other leads on top of the hierarchy. - Possibly, the leadership in Abuja might be part of this looting network too (assumption).
Judging from the above scenario, it will be absurd for the government to think the police head will be able to solve this police brutality on their own coz they are all guilty from top to bottom.
Proposed Solution: - A Rep should sponsor a bill to establish a separate disciplinarian (trial) court with sole responsibility of trying cases of extortion & police brutality in the police force. (The body constitution may include the police, judiciary, etc). - The president should assent to the bill and make it a law. - Make a law that ALL the officers that partakes in a raid of extortion be sacked within 4 weeks (Investigation period) - Most local police raiding guys are familiar faces. Their offices are known by people in the locality. - The FSARS guys too can be identified with at least something. (An assumption) - Since the DPOs most times know about their officers going out for raids, make a law that any DPO whose officer engages in a raid of extortion be either relocated to another state or he should be demoted to a regular officer. (Give them grace of three occurrences and issue warning at every instance).
Conclusion: In my own theory, it is better to go after the top guys when trying to solve a menace coz when you shake the top, the lower cadre will fall in line. If the DPOs are held responsible for the actions of their officers, they will make sure their officers are kept in check.
This is just me thinking out loud!

For example , take a look at one Kingsley Moghalu, who on twitter, said, Boko Haram has defeated the Nigerian army. And I wondered how someone who should have Nigeria at heart, a patriot, a presidential candidate could utter such!

Anyways on whatsapp, I was browsing my friends and family's status.
Then my eyes caught one of cousin's status, I was like lemme see what this babe is up to.
She's a top executive in one of these banks. I tapped her status, she displayed pics of herself shopping in a mall abroad, I could see the environment is not naija. I was like Ufuoma! Big babe! Babe is spending money. There was definitely someone at the background taking her video. After shopping and paying, she waved, smiled at the camera.
Then next video, She was in a robe, dancing to a song playing at the background, in a posh room. I guess it's the hotel where she's staying. She held a bottle of Baileys. Poured in a glass, was miming a song, seeping the baileys looking at the camera with a determined look and smile, winked and seeping her drink. Then shaking her head again, pouring more drink into the glass, dancing slowly and smiling.
I was like wow! This is what I call freedom and enjoyment! No stress,No Stingy guy breathing down ones neck, no hassles. She was just feeling herself.
In mind I was like this video is for guys.
